When I met the burly Scotsman who owned the mountain cabin my friends and I rented for a getaway, I thought he was the lonely-hermit type who shot trespassers from his front porch. He wasn't friendly or welcoming, but something about him intrigued me enough to poke the bear.
“I should warn you, lass,” he growls, capturing my lips with his once more. “I get a bit rough when I’m hungry for a woman.” My breath catches in my throat as his fingers trail along my bare thighs. A slight groan passes through my lips, but I can’t form words. “And right now,” he says, gripping the back of my neck, “I’m starving.”
I’m not sure I can trust him. He’s been married before and his ex-wife is out for blood, accusing him of abuse while they were married. She has plenty of reasons to lie, so I don’t fall for it at first, but then I start to wonder how dangerous this handsome stranger might be.
Beyond the Forest is Book 3 of the Awakening Love series, but can be read as a stand-alone. It is a spicy, 18+ romance with the following small-town romance, age gap romance, possessive hero, grumpy/sunshine.
Good story, tropes, etc. 🌶️ was 8/10. Would’ve been a 4 star read had there not been so many grammatical errors. Not enough to make me DNF, just enough to annoy me.
Beyond the forest was worth the wait! Cole and Olivia are beyond good together, they are intense! Join them in the telling of their journey. Cole’s Scottish brogue might be your undoing! And just wait for the waterfall, a scenic spot you won’t want to miss. Don’t walk, run and get your copy, and a fan, you might just need it! It’s🔥 and fun.
I enjoyed this book so much. I didn't want their story to end. The only thing I didn't enjoy was what felt like the lack of a final edit. It made s9me parts a little frustrating and so.e parts a little confusing. But over all a good read.
