War is coming to the swamp and The Gauntlet Trials is the only thing standing in the way of his Belle Eveque from serving as his right hand during dangerous times. His Mah-Mah takes matters into her own scheming hands to help Beth and the result has Bishop ready to play dirtier than ever before to protect the woman he loves.
Beth wants to prove to Bishop that he can trust her to do what's right for both of them as his right hand but in order to do that, she'll have to find a way to pass The Gauntlet Trials.
I’m a husband and author, and I may be a little religious about both. I like writing hot sex and encapsulating it in the delicate white silk of devotion, commitment, and psychotic obsession.
Each of the women that are with one of the twelve must work to pass a set of tests. These tests will make or break each woman.
I love the way that the story twists and turns between each of the four couples. I the way that the author creates a plan for the couples. Lucian, done wonders in creating this story. I can't wait to see what the next book has inside for the readers.
OMG! Have you been following Lucian Bane's "Bayou Bishops" series? 'The Gauntlet Trials' is the sixth book in the series and this is an edge-of-your-seat read. Fate holds all the decisions concerning the Gauntlet Trials the women on the Twelve must go through. The men don't want their wives to be their right hand and yet when the trials start, there's worry and pride for their women. That being said, the women want to be wives but might be rethinking their quest for a right-hand position during wartime but once the trials start, they want to make their men proud. Lucian had me holding my breath, my heart hammering, during the trials, and then just when I thought things were going to come to a celebratory end and then out of the blue I'm on the edge of my seat again and my heart is hammering in my chest again. What a ride!
Okay I have read many books by this author, each one more captivating than the last! This series is unlike anything I have ever read, it's so different and detailed that you can actually envision the situations happening.
-part of a series (read in order) -different couples -MC Romance -steamy -thrilling
We are back in the swamps of Bayou, with the deadly, fearstly protective and possessive men of the Twelve. Bishop, Spook, Seer and Lesion are struggling to allow their women to be their right hands.. Not because they don't have faith in them but because they want them safe with a promise of war coming their way. Bishop is trying every sneaky thing he can think of to help his case and keep his Bella Eveque safe...
However his Mah-Mah has other ideas, she wants to help Beth in anyway she can. She knows the woman want to do right by their men whether that be in war or at home. Here in lays where the 'fate dice' come into play and play they do!!
It's time for the tests of the Gauntlet, I have been on the edge of my chair waiting for this one!! How each woman plays into their inner strength is beautiful to witness. Their relationship with one other and though they can't always talk to each other, they are always trying to help each other (especially Beth). They cheer each other on and want to see one another succeed.
Will the fate dices roll in their favour? Can these determined woman make it through the tests? Can these demanding men keep their cool and women safe?
These books may be short but thru aren't without plot, action, steam and they pack on hell of a punch!
Secrets, lies, undeniable love and so much more!
I Highly recommend this whole series, come step into the swamp and see if you can make it through without being swallowed whole by these incredibly written books.
Seems forever, yet not, waiting for this installment, but this series is completely captivating! I loved the Trials. Each woman had to complete the same, yet the changes were, they all did at the same time. The Trials absolutely had me cheering, worried, and made me completely fall !ore in love with these female characters! Their other halves, wow, they totally blew me away with their individual parts of the Trials the women had to endure. These were introspective and completely scary! Then, well, Mr. Name, I cannot wait for to find out what "then" is... I have found this incredible series to be thoughtful! I love the characters and the description of the swamps, I found each couple tombe unique and easily loved. I want to know what is coming, frankly cannot wait! So.... NEXT... !!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my good gracious! This book was everything I had hoped for and more. The Gauntlet Trials that the women have to go through to be the Right-hand of The Twelve are amazing and are challenging. The story takes a turn at the end that leaves you sitting on the edge of you seat and wanting to jump up and down, scream and holler and ask what happens, but you have to wait for the next installment. I am so glad that the next installment comes out in about 2 weeks.
Wonderful suspense in all of the Lucian Bane stories that I have read. I definitely look forward to everything that he writes, always on the lookout for new and old stories by him.
Lesion is finding his way with Tully. The Eveque and Ma Ma setup a party. Samuel, Bishop, and Lesion check out the place where they are suppose to find Raphael while they are away Cherie runs away and when they cannot contact any of the women they have to give up on the spying on the compound. They still have not found the rat yet and things are becoming increasing dangerous. The women participate in the gauntlet and then something dangerous happens. Suspense, romance, danger, violence, adult content, and love. I purchased a copy. I volunteered an honest review.
Lucian Bane has already proved he can write strong alpha dom men we all grow to love. But in The Gauntlet Trials, book #6 from his Bayou Bishops MC series he proves he can write some badass strong women. This book takes place right after book #5 Lesion, ends so you must read that before this one. All the books in the series are leading up to The Gauntlet Trials. It is a test on many levels that the members of The Twelve's wives must take, just like the men did, to prove they have what it takes to stand by their husband's side in The Twelve. Bishop, the leader is totally against his wife Beth taking the trials and being his right hand that he tries to find a way to stop it or at least alter it. But when Beth realizes it she goes to his mom for help and you don't mess with this lady. Even though Beth has no interest in being Bishop's right hand and wants to be a mom and housewife she wants to take the trials just to prove that she has what it takes if that was what she wanted. The other ladies, Cherie, Maggie, and Tully are also taking the trials with her. Each other these ladies have been introduced in the series. This book is told from 4 different POVs and yes it can get confusing at times to keep up with everything going on at once from multiple viewpoints. The trials start off great with all the ladies impressing the men with their abilities. When the final trial comes up things go wrong for Beth and luckily Bishop catches on pretty quick. She did happen to find her own savior in the swamp that no one knew hid there. Ruckus. I don't want to give away who he is but it's mind-blowing. I always had a feeling he would be showing up just not like he did. So even though Beth couldn't finish the last trial test does she still pass for saving her own life until Ruckus came along and found her?? I gave this book a 5-star rating and a 3-spicy rating. The ladies in this book just blew me away. And with what's to come I can only see them getting stronger. Especially together. Most of the books in this series are heavy on the erotic side but this one wasn't so much. There were more important things to worry about to me but the ones in it got me hot and bothered. There is more to come from this series, like Ruckus up next and from Lucian Bane himself and I for one cannot wait!
I don’t know if my heart is going to survive everything that Lucian has decided in his wisdom while writing this series. I’m suffering right along with each character! Bishop’s plan to throw the Gauntlet Trials didn’t go quite as he planned. He, Lesion, Spook and Samuel all devised their portion of the trial to have their mates face the ultimate in suffering…and all was going as planned, the girls were all acing the trials. Until it went off the rails. Now we have an unknown thrown into the mix…and he had Beth.
This next installment of the Bayou Bishops is one of my favorites and showing us how the women of The Twelve prepare for the Gauntlet, they also show them a peek of what it means to be the right hand. The tests and women are awesome. This book is filled with emotion and moved me at the trials and strength of these beautiful women and the support their men give them. The book takes a turn at the end and leaves you wanting the next installment
Beside every great flawed man, is a great flawed woman. And with the Gauntlet Trials, Lucian Bane allows the women in the Twelves lives shine even brighter. This book covers every emotion, is action packed (in all spicy varieties) and laced throughout with humor. But at its core is still the love for another, for their community and the deep desire to protect it all. And the ending…..prepare yourselves, it’s a gripper.
The Bayou Bishops saga continues. The Gauntlet Trials have begun and the fate of the women and their role within the Twelve is literally in the roll of the dice! Bishop and the other husbands have mixed feelings about how they want this to go.
This unstoppable, sexy thrill ride takes the twists and turns that Lucian Bane is known for. As the trials are coming to a head, someone from the past makes his presence known. What happens next is anyone’s guess!
I should know by now the deeper you get into a Bane series the better it gets. In this installment, the ladies finally run the gauntlet and believe me it was worth the wait. Each of these amazing women came to the bayou and had to face the dice and themselves, as they show up and out to solidify their positions.
So looking forward to what happens next on the Bayou.
This series is so unique, the books are fairly short however they cover a lot of ground. This latest adventure is told from multiple POVs and covers the 'wives' trials to become the right hand to their respective husbands in The Twelve. Entertaining and engaging, with Lucian Bane's individual flair throughout.
So much is happening. The wives have had there trials and the last on almost breaks Beth. Now there is a rat in the swamp, who is not who we think he is, but he's been foretold by Maggie. On to the next book. I can't get enough of these people. I love them all.😍😍🤗🤗
Well shit that wasn't nice to end this right there, Mr. Lucian Bane.
The wife's of the Twelve have to pass the Gauntlet Trials to become the right hand to their man. Can they pass them? Will they be too hard? Will anyone get left behind? Oh, the questions will continue until you read the book because I'm not going to tell you anything. Seriously, read it it's really good.
Amazing read. Can't wait to find out wha t happens next. Mr Bane had the ability to draw the reader in and make them feel like they are watching the events unfold before your very eyes. Loved it
An amazing story and great addition to the series. The trials for the women are well thought out and am very excited for the next book as the cliff hanger had me yelling out a bit LOL Great work and Lucian Bane does know how to write a great story and keep you interested.
Oh my stars. The men figure out that they need their women to succeed for them to be their strongest and for them to be successful but they only figure that out after they thought they sabotaged women from succeeding.
This is about the women the men love. They gave to go to a survival trail and the men can't help. They make their men proud but danger happens. Love it
Each book in this series keeps adding more drama and suspense with each character’s story we meet. I’m not a fan of cliffhangers but these books wouldn’t be as good without them drawing you into the Twelve’s lives.
Not too crazy about having to continually reading the series with the because each book is an incomplete tale of each relationship. Leaving my review until I finish the series, or however far I get in case it isn't complete.
Wow, this book in the series is very exciting and very stress inducing. The gauntlet trials are nothing to make fun of, they are dangerous and heart wrenching. I love the fact that these women are more than they seen and I’m excited to get to the next book in the series.
Okay this one, ugh I had a lot of different emotions. I was sad, on the edge, screaming in joy while rooting for all the ladies but especially Tully. They had my girl messed up, she held her own but I was tickled when she fell in the water trying to see her boo.
Oh boy love the bayou I probably actually saw it once when I was very small but Therese guys are the best it's such a cool series. Get them all for sure.
