Two women. One powerful man. A decades-old secret binds them together.
In 2019, Pamela Carter is determined to secure her dream internship with billionaire businessman Andrew Clifford III.
Twenty-five years ago, in 1993, Andrew is just starting out. Without any of his later fame or fortune, the party boy becomes a legitimate hero when he intervenes to save assaulted Elizabeth Westlake. Sure, she’s a waitress at a strip club, but that’s not her dream. Elizabeth is determined to write her way out of the Harlem hellhole she lives in. Maybe Andrew is the ticket? Even the best-laid plans go awry, and for Elizabeth, tragedy looms.
Pamela is impossible not to notice and she soon becomes Andrew’s prime intern. But, just as with Elizabeth, not all goes to plan. The stocks are plummeting. The company is careening. And then, Andrew himself goes missing. Will Pamela also be plunged into the tragedy that surrounds this man? Or is Pamela the one person who really knows what happened that fateful night in 1993? More than a company is at stake, as Andrew struggles for survival. But sometimes, the past is too powerful. Some secrets refuse to remain buried. Sometimes, truth kills.
Shortly after graduating from USC with a degree in journalism, Alretha soon realized her interest in her major was not heartfelt. Instead of writing news stories, she wanted to write plays and books. Several years later, her church gave her an outlet to fulfill her writing desires through their Liturgical Fine Arts Department wherein Alretha penned twelve theatre pieces—the community response was overwhelming. This led to plays outside of the church, including Alretha’s One Woman, Two Lives, starring Kellita Smith (The Bernie Mac Show), directed by four-time NAACP Image Award Best Director recipient, Denise Dowse. The production garnered rave reviews from critics and audiences.
In between plays, Alretha self-published her first novel, Daughter Denied, in 2008 and has received glowing reviews from readers and book clubs across the country. Representing her book and plays, Alretha has been the guest on many radio shows and television shows including San Francisco Public Affairs show Bay Sunday with Barbara Rodgers on CBS affiliate, KPIX. She was also interviewed by KTLA News Entertainment Reporter, Sam Rubin. In 2011, Alretha self-published her second novel, Dancing Her Dreams Away, and it was also well received. Her third novel, Married in the Nick of Nine, spawned a four-book series that was acquired by Soul Mate Publishing in January 2014. The series has since reverted back to her. In August 2014, Alretha was awarded the Jessie Redmon Fauset Literary Award for her indie novel, Four Ladies Only. In 2016, Alretha created the Detective Rachel Storme Mystery Series: Justice for Jessica, Losing Lauren and A Penny for Her Heart. In 2018 and 2019 Alretha debuted two additional mystery books— The Women on Retford Drive and The Truth About Gretchen, respectively. Her most recent novel is The Girl in the Blue Blazer.
Alretha is also an actress and can be seen in numerous commercials and television shows. She currently plays Anastasia Devereaux on Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living that airs on BET.
This story is told over multiple timelines, narrated in the perfect sequence, to progressively build suspense and keep the reader guessing. The reader gets to know Liz and Sandy, two best friends who are trying to overcome the obstacles of childhood trauma, racism, sexism, sexual aggression, and poverty. In alternate narratives, we meet Pamela who has her heart set on an internship at a financial company owned by Andrew Clifford. She has been following his career for years, and this is her last chance at the position. We quickly find out her intentions are not purely career motivated. These narratives are artfully tied together as we reach the climax of the story, and all the questions are answered and the secrets revealed. The character development was strong and complex, and every detail was thoughtfully tied to the events, and, ultimately to the conclusion of the story. I loved the strong female protagonists. This is a great read!

A spellbinding, cathartic revenge thriller that will leave readers both unnerved and satisfied.
The Girl in the Blue Blazer opens as two women – Pamela Carter and Veronica Johnson – wait to meet billionaire Andrew Clifford, a man with an impressive art collection and a massive ego. Knowing the spectacular track record of Andrew’s past proteges, Veronica is vying for a coveted internship to follow in their footsteps.
Pamela, however, is driven by something far more personal – her unwavering desire to destroy the legendary businessman.
Through dialogue, Author Alretha Thomas makes clear in the first chapter that Andrew learned nothing from the #metoo movement. Thomas then transports readers back to the 90s, where we meet a younger version of Andrew through the experiences of struggling strip club hostess Elizabeth. Thomas, who is also an award-winning playwright, director, producer and actress, demonstrates her expertise in character development through a series of vivid flashbacks.
Through alternating perspectives between Pamela and Elizabeth, Thomas writes in two distinct, entirely believable voices to create a harrowing shared experience spanning decades. It’s a powerful technique that builds over time and pays repeatedly off thanks to multiple well-timed reveals.
While Pamela’s intentions and Andrew’s character flaws are both established early on, if you’re thinking Pamela’s plan for vengeance will be predictable, think again. Thomas manages to deliver plenty of high-impact surprises along the way. While putting herself squarely in danger to pull it off, Pamela’s ingenious scheme requires assembling an alliance of like-minded conspirators. Watching her orchestrate the plan to bring down this titan of industry – and pivot when it all seems to unravel – makes for riveting reading.
The Girl in the Blue Blazer begins with Pamela Carter anxiously waiting to mee with Andrew Clifford III, having made the cut to the final two from a grueling process for his prestigious internship program. This is her third time, and her last. That is the maximum number of times that you can apply and she is determined to make it. When she is called into Andrew’s office, they have a frank, albeit strange at times, conversation. When Pamela leaves, she feels good about her chances, only to have them dashed a few days later when she is told they chose the other candidate. Imagine her surprise when she receives another phone call a few days after that informing her that they were choosing her. She has waited soooooo long for this opportunity and she will not waste one moment to do what she needs to do.
Elizabeth Westlake is trying to make it on her own, having run away from home to escape her mother’s abusive, ever changing, boyfriends. Her story begins in 1993 when she is seventeen (she lied about her age) and working as a waitress at a strip club. When Elizabeth is groped by a customer, Andrew steps in and saves her. He then requests she have a drink with him in the VIP room. Little does she know how much that encounter will alter the direction of her life……….and so many others.
The Girl in the Blue Blazer is written with dual timelines and draws you in from the very beginning that have you turning the pages faster and faster as you navigate all of the twists and turns. One moment, you’re convinced of one thing, the next, not so much. What you ARE convinced of is that Mrs. Thomas has once again written an amazing story and built a world that draws you in and doesn’t let go until the very end. One thing that hit me while reading this is that it is so refreshing to read a story that has “real” dialogue between the characters. Due to the subject matter of this book, that frank and real dialogue will endear the characters to the reader even more. If you’re a fan of suspenseful storylines with awesome and strong women, you will not go wrong with this book. So happy that she is back to writing with her busy schedule. Well done, Alretha Thomas!! Very, very well done!

Twisted Tale Revenge Story Surprising Plot
The Girl in the Blue Blazer by Alretha Thomas is a bingeable and bold thriller told in two timelines that is entertaining to read and a true page turner. I had a really fun time reading this book which would probably be an amazing book to film.
Thanks to suzyapproved for including me on this one. It took a little bit but I got sucked into this story and really enjoyed it! Liked both characters and timelines and had to find out what was happening.
The author has done it again, bringing forth a convincing, heart-pounding, page-turner with significant, wide-ranging characters, strong women camaraderie, great dialogue, and descriptive settings. Pamela Carter has her heart set on becoming an intern at a successful investment company, but as the plot moves forward, it takes a sudden turn, becoming a cat-and-mouse game. The story goes from past events to the present, exposing some secrets and lies, corporate transgressions, the exploitation of money, power, and influence, manipulation, betrayal, and retribution. This edge-on-your-seat narrative will keep you speculating from start to finish, slowly building up to an ending that I never saw coming.
I stayed up all night to finish! So many twists right up until the end. The story unraveled slowly, but kept building. I will be looking for more Athens Thomas books!
Have you ever wanted something so badly, you’ve planned and replayed it over and over in your mind? So much so that it feels like you are living in that story? I have and I would imagine that’s how she felt walking through this book and then when the deed was done there was no more angst it all stopped and life moves on. This is a story of justice, justice for someone who cannot fight for herself or speak for herself. It’s about greed, manipulation and power. Thomas does a great job with character development and storyline flow. These characters you really will love to hate them and then just hate some. Many times I thought the book shifted from romance to suspense and vice versa. But then when I realize I’m clinching my teeth and sitting on the edge of my seat I realize it is a story of suspense. I definitely enjoyed the twist and turns Thomas takes the reader on a journey. This story is the business.
This book took a while to draw me in, and once it did, I was hooked. Unfortunately, the ending was a bit of a letdown and completely unbelievable. I will read more of her books, as I definitely liked the dual timeline storytelling as well as the realistic dialogue.
Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a free, electronic ARC of this novel received in exchange for an honest review.
1993 - Elizabeth Westlake and her best friend Sandy are young and struggling and working as waitresses at a topless bar to make ends meet. Elizabeth gets in a situation at work and a handsome young man steps up to defend her. His name is Andrew and she spends the evening taking with him. She tells him of her dream of becoming a writer and he promises to help her out.
Things with Andrew start to become a little suspicious and Elizabeth keeps her distance. Things take an interesting turn and Elizabeth finds herself engaged to Andrew.
Sounds like a dream come true, right? But everything is not what it seems.
2019 - Pamela Carte is interviewing to intern for Andrew Clifford III. This is her third time interviewing and she prays this time she gets the position. She has waited 10 for this opportunity so she can put her plans into action….this is personal.
This is a great read! I could not put it down and read it in one day. This is the second book I have read by this author, and she is one to keep an eye on! Get this one, you won’t be disappointed!
Reading this book is like riding a roller-coaster. First you're headed one way, then you twist. Then things are up, then down. All the way to the very end! It's an engrossing story that had me hooked from page 1.
I READ AND ENJOYED THIS AUTHOR BEFORE AND I THINK THIS WAS NOT HER BEST. NOT A BAD READ BUT I DIDN'T CARE FOR THE THEN & NOW WRITING STYLE. BY PAGE 24 I WAS POSITIVE WHERE THIS WAS HEADING, IT WAS CONFIRMED ON PAGE 167. THIS REMINDED ME A LITTLE OF THE 1989 CLASSIC MOVIE "SHE DEVIL" WITH ROSEANNE BARR. ;D
This book was simply and totally unbelievable! I kept hoping that it would get better. Actually, it got worse. Save your money and your time - don't read it!
Highly recommend this book! Kept me on my toes the whole time and got through it in a day - just wow! So many brilliant twists and turns, and wonderful characters! This is a must-read!
Pamela Carter just got her dream internship at Clifford Investments. Andrew Clifford, her new boss, is a man with a murky past. With her burning desire for retribution for atrocities committed decades before and her new job, Pamela is getting closer to her objective of destroying Andrew’s empire. Andrew has no idea that the things he did 25 years ago will follow him forever.
Nobody can stop Pamela from taking on this man who put her mother in so much pain. Elizabeth Westlake, Pamela’s mother, was a young woman with big dreams who became a victim of Andrew’s cunning tricks. Without raising an eyebrow, Pamela advances in the company, targeting Andrew’s business and reputation. For Andrew, tragedy looms; will he be able to avoid it? Also, why is Pamela so determined to destroy his life?
Alretha Thomas’s suspenseful novel The Girl in the Blue Blazer weaves together incidents from the past and the present to give readers a sense of what happened and how things are now. This moving tale depicts the struggles of women who have been subjected to sexual assault, verbal abuse, and gender discrimination by both strangers and close friends. It is a story of loyalty, love, friendship, and enduring ties. Each component is skillfully woven into the narrative. Readers get a sense of Pamela’s fierce determination and her willingness to stop at nothing to accomplish her goals from the very first pages. The few characters present were well-developed. The main character, Pamela, was outstanding, with no weaknesses in any respect. Sandy was the one I loved the most; she is a model of what a true friend should be.
The Girl in the Blue Blazer is flawlessly written, and the plot moves along smoothly. I eagerly await to read more books by Alretha Thomas. She has writing talent. I recommend this book to readers who enjoy general fiction because it is the ideal fusion of love, friendship, adventure, and crime.
Pamela Carter is young, pretty, intelligent, and determined. Determined, that is, to snag a prestigious internship with Clifford Investments, working closely with founder Andrew Clifford. She’s so focused on winning the position that she’s not above sabotaging a rival candidate.
Clifford Investments does select Pamela, but trouble develops almost immediately. When a proposed merger goes sideways, CI’s stock tanks, and the potential merger target files a complaint with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Then Andrew Clifford goes radio silent.
The Girl in the Blue Blazer has two narratives: one from the past and one from the present. Andrew appears in both. Sometimes he’s charming and thoughtful; at others, manipulative. Then there are those times when the man is downright cruel. So, which is he, and who is he? Will the real Andrew Clifford please stand up?
Pamela is not a clueless innocent, merely along for the ride. She has an agenda of her own that the unfolding story slowly reveals. The reader learns a lot about her, but only over time. Andrew Clifford is richly defined as the hero-cum-villain, while other relatable supporting characters help move the story along.
Just as Pamala seems about to achieve her goals, her adversary blocks her. As the action approaches the climax, the advantage seesaws back and forth from success to setback. This happens often enough that the reader wonders who will come out on top.
In the end, however…. No, I won’t tell you; you’ll have to read the book and find out.
This skillfully told story held my interest from beginning to end. Readers who enjoy mystery and suspense will find this book well worth reading.
The structure of the writing is very interesting. The chapters alternate between the present and the past and we get to know two great protagonists with strong and resourceful characters. In 1993, we make the acquaintance of Elizabeth and her friend Sandy, afflicted by a series of childhood traumas and subject to sexual aggression, racism and sexism. The two women decide to work as waitresses at a strip club to scrape together some money and lift their tragic economic situation. One night, Elizabeth meets Andrew, a young entrepreneur at the beginning of his career, who helps her realise her dream: to find a way out of Harem hell and become a writer. The two end up dating and embarking on a relationship. But not everything goes according to plan. Andrew becomes very suspicious and, soon, Elizabeth finds herself involved in a tragedy. While, in 2019, we make the acquaintance of Pamela, a beautiful woman who is very determined to get her dream job at the company of billionaire Andrew Clifford III. But, just as in Elizabeth's case, everything does not go according to plan. The company's shares plummet and Andrew mysteriously disappears. I particularly enjoyed the author's writing: super detailed, researched and fluent. Between secrets, lies, manipulations and truths that come to light after years, it is impossible for the reader to get bored. The mystery involving the figure of Andrew is very interested, a real treat. It is a book that really entertains and builds up a lot of suspense. I just couldn't tear myself away from this book! And the ending... AMAZING! This is, without a shadow of a doubt, a story that will leave you breathless. Highly recommended!
I thank Alretha Thomas, Diverse Arts Collective Inc and NetGallery for the ARC copy of this amazing book in exchange for an honest review.
There are a lot of authors who can write mystery stories. There are even a lot of authors who can write good mystery stories. But there are only a few authors who can write really good mystery stories. Alretha Thomas is one of the authors who can write a really good mystery. Her latest book, The Girl in the Blue Blazer, is one of those books that you start reading and have a pretty good idea of what will happen in the story. Until you turn the page. The author drops a little bit of information that blows up your whole theory about where the story is heading. This happens numerous times over the course of the book until you finally just say “ok I’ll go with the flow and see where she leads me”. This book isn’t just a mystery story however. It is also a commentary and expose on how women, and in particular black women, were treated in the 90’s and in a lot of cases are still being treated in today’s business world. I think all women remember hearing “boys will be boys” as we went to college and navigated our way in the business world. The female characters in this book heard that a lot too and determined that they were going to do something about it. I would highly recommend this book but be prepared to not do much of anything else while you are reading it. I read it in less than 2 days. Everything else had to wait.
Written with the #MeToo movement in mind, Pamela Carter seeks to avenge the lives of female employees at the prestigious financial firm Clifford Industries who have admitted being raped by the firm's leader Andrew Clifford III. She also wants to take him down for the violent death of her mother Elizabeth whose naivete as a 17 year old, was horribly taken advantage of by an arrogant Clifford, newly graduated from his MBA program. This is a twisted tale told in two timelines by Pamela and Elizabeth. Pamela has planned her revenge for years after discovering what Clifford left behind and when she gets the much sought after internship at the firm, she ingratiates herself into the world that Clifford inhabits and begins to take steps to upend his life and his company. Elizabeth shares her life after meeting Clifford in the journals she keeps so she can practice her writing skills, hoping one day to be a published author. Her dearest friend Sandy is her support system and keeps Liz's life in her memory always. Sandy also seeks to take Clifford down for what she did to her friend. While it was a very interesting premise, things were just too convenient and gimmicky and just didn't make me excited to read how the author would bring it to the ending. The writing didn't seem that sophisticated to me.
Please do not start reading "The Girl in the Blue Blazer" unless you have enough time to finish all 300 pages in one sitting. It is a gripping suspenseful thriller that will keep you hooked.
The book is a story of revenge and justice, revolving around themes of greed, manipulation, and power. However, at its core, it is a tale of love. The author takes the reader on an emotional rollercoaster, weaving together humor, horror, and everything in between, as we follow the stories of Elizabeth and Pamela.
The character development is intricate and well-executed, and the plot is full of suspense and foreshadowing. Just when you think you have the story figured out, the author introduces another clue that takes you in a new direction. The storyline is tight and moves seamlessly between the two timelines.
I enjoyed the strong female characters portrayed in the story. This tale should appeal to everyone, but especially to one who has faced discrimination, racism, bullies, and the power exercised by those who believe they are invincible.
This is my first read by Alretha Thomas, and I am eager to delve into more of her work. The Girl in The Blue Blazer receives a well-deserved 5-stars from me.
Alretha Thomas, the author of “The Girl In The Blue Blazer,” has written an intriguing and suspenseful novel. The Genres for this novel are Suspense, Fiction, and Thriller. I read this novel in one sitting and was disappointed when it was finished. The author tells and writes a great story and vividly describes her dark and colorful characters and the scenery. This is like a fantastic game of cat and mouse, taking place over a decade with the same man and two women. There are twists and turns and unexpected surprises. There are deep dark secrets that continue.
In 1993, Andrew Clifford, the Third, saves a young woman when a man harasses her and becomes known as a hero. Elizabeth Westlake is poor and works as a waitress in a strip club. Elizabeth’s dream is to become a writer. Will Andrew be able to help her? Unfortunately, Elizabeth has a tragedy.
In 2019, Andrew is a powerful, wealthier, and successful man with a huge company. Pamela Carter applies to Andrew’s company hoping to become an intern. Pamela is manipulative and intrigued with Andrew, his business, and the women in his company. Andrew has an explosive temper and destroys anyone that attempts to betray him.
Will these two timelines connect? I highly recommend this edgy and suspenseful novel to other readers.
Thank you to my partner, Suzy Approved Book Tours, and the author. I appreciate the gifted and signed paperback, and I am leaving this review voluntarily!
1. 𝐍𝐚ï𝐯𝐞𝐭é - It always seems like the rich, successful men can bring out the naïveté in women. This story brings it right to the forefront. Very reminiscent of the 𝐌𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐨 movement.
2. 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐲 - It seems like, at times, when someone has a little taste of what it is like to have power, nothing seems good enough any longer - it becomes an addiction. Andrew is one of the most disgusting characters I’ve come across in a novel!
3. 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐭𝐬 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐭 - I love stories where I get to cheer for the MC that is going after the villain to create his downfall. It is always so satisfying.
4. 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰 - I really thought I knew how this story was going to wrap up, but Thomas sure threw some twists in there at the end! I loved that the path took some turns! You really need to read it to see if Pamela is able to finally put Andrew where he belongs!
5. 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 - So many instances of family who is not blood-related in this story. Whether adoptive parents or friends who become family, Elizabeth, Pamela, and Sandy have it made in this department. So much love to go around 💕
This was a twisty and interesting read. I really enjoyed the author’s writing style and was captivated by the story!! Oh my goodness…it definitely wasn’t what I was expecting going in, but I always love to be surprised!
Elizabeth is a teen working hard to get her life on track when a rich and powerful man comes into the club she's working in and sweeps her off his feet. Things aren't what they seem, though, and he tricks her more than once into believing a fantasy. After his sadistic ways are revealed, the worst thing imaginable happens...and justice doesn't come for decades later.
So, how does the bright and young protege of this man come into play? And what is her interest in his past? Once it's revealed to the reader, it feels so good to have Elizabeth avenged for the wrongs committed against her.
This story was powerful and enthralling. I liked the way timelines went back and forth between the two women's voices and we got to see the full picture of what happened along the way.
WOW!!! I didn't think it was possible to go into something with high expectations and still have them exceeded, but that is exactly what happened here. This story is the definition of suspense. There was pulse-pounding action from beginning to end, delivered by the right cast of characters. If you're looking for a story with strong women, this is it.
Andrew Clifford, III is the personification of a snake. I mean, that man is evil! This story is serves as a good reminder that hurt people do in fact hurt people. I'm normally a very slow reader, but this story, like all Alretha Thomas's work, was easy to read and the chapters were just the right size. Pamela is an amazing protagonist, and you really root for her. I actually felt her pain.
I won't say much more about this because of the twists and turns in the story. It' s too easy to give something away. Trust me, you cannot predict the ending--almost gave me a heart attack!
“The Girl in the Blue Blazer” follows two main interwoven timelines/POVs. The first is in 1993 and introduces Elizabeth Westlake (Liz) and her best friend Sandy as they struggle to make it after escaping terrible childhoods. The second is in 2019 and introduces Pamela Carter, an impressive woman trying to get an internship at a financial company with it’s CEO: Andrew Clifford III.
Overall, I found this story powerful. Fair warning: this is not a happy-go-lucky tale. This story covers topics that are difficult to discuss and hear about, but it is important to do so. The author pulls from her own experiences to depict two POVs of women with different backgrounds that are connected by something terrible. I found the emotions of each woman to be heartbreaking and all too real. Find the full blog post at heatherlbarksdale.com
I received a copy of this book in exchange of a fair and honest review.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
This book was delightful - the plot is tight and compelling, especially with the two storylines. I read it in one afternoon! I don’t typically read much mystery, but really enjoyed it - this would be a great book for anyone who likes contemporary fiction, light mystery, dual storylines, etc. Indeed, the mystery is intriguing without being too high-stakes or over-the-top. The characters are complex and easy to root for (or against), and their motivations are clear. This is one of the few books I’ve read recently that have been hard-to-put-down and immersive. Be aware of some upsetting themes that might be triggering (e.g., pregnancy loss, death, sexual assault) although I felt that these were handled well, weren’t described too graphically, and hopefully wouldn’t be as triggering as other accounts.
Revenge is sweet and best served cold, sounds like revenge is ice cream to me. Pamela has worked towards her revenge for years and with Sandy, her mother's "sister" she finally gets Andrew Clifford III where she wants him but he is devious. Sandy comes through for her as she was unable to do for her mother and gets the revenge she so wanted and also a measure of justice when Pamela inherits what's left of his business to rebuild in her own image. It seems like a female oriented book but I read id as it was free and don't mind admitting I quite enjoyed it, probably my feminine side coming through.
This is a thriller that was a couldn’t put down until I finished read.
It’s told in two timelines a little over 25 years apart and in two points of view.
The first timeline is 1993 New York and Elizabeth is 17 and a waitress at a strip club. She wants to be a writer and keeps meticulous journals. She thinks she meets her “Prince Charming” at her club.
The second timeline is 2019 in California and Pamela is determined to become an intern at Clifford Investments.
Both women have a tie to Clifford Investments CEO, Andrew Clifford.
As the book progresses, you learn how Andrew Clifford has impacted both lives.
I just finished reading "The girl in the Blue Blazer." The book is amazing, with a great plot and great characters. There are many twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. My favorite characters are Pamela, Elizabeth and Sandy. With all the craziest happening I wanted to shot Andrew in the foot. In the midst of all that was happening in the lives of the characters Alretha brought our Lord and Savior in the mix. The ending will have you holding on to the edge of your seat. I didn't want the story to end.
I've been seeing this book online a lot and checked out the reviews out of curiosity. I wasn't expecting a lot because I felt that it was all hype. Boy was I wrong. I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning reading this book. I couldn't put it down. It has alternating stories that eventually come together and they both are intense. There were so many twists and turns and shocking revelations. This book was plotted down to every detail. Wow! Blew my mind. I plan on checking out some of this writer's other books. Hopefully, they'll be as good as this one!
