South Africa’s revolution is an amazing triumph of rational thought prevailing over hatred, fear, and feelings of vengeance. In my mind, it stands a tribute to all South Africans that their country was not engulfed by an all-out civil war. Knowing how this happened allows me contemplate alternatives to the conflicts that we so readily engage in today for the same reasons that existed in that country prior to their transformation.

I recently watched the PBS movie entitled Endgame and learned that it was based on this book. The details of the movie absolutely warranted its reading.
