This was by far, the best book by Heather Killough-Walden. But it is not for the religious faint of heart. Anyone who is a religious/bible purist should probably not read this. It gives an alternate, but WHOLLY FICTIONAL, version of Jesus's life. My suggestion, just roll with it. It is a fascinating read and if you don't take it as it trying to present a different POSSIBLE explanation for things, you will do all right. Just keep saying to yourself,....its just fiction, its just fiction...
I loved both the present time and the flashbacks and was disappointed every time one would stop and the other would start.....I kept wanting to read about whichever time I was in....
Great book---I have seen excellent growth in this author.....
The Wolf series started out as "romantic fantasy" and continued along those lines in the "Vampire King" series.
The "Chosen Soul" series showed growth to fantasy/epic tale.... and Redeemer to something even better.
This one will take you off the beaten path. It has religious aspects as well as vampires, who knew the two went together.
The vamps in H K-W’s story are not what you would expect. They are not turned by being bitten. They are human until they die and they come back to life as a vampire with the help of some salt. This part is not explained very well. This story is supposed to be the first in a series so I hope more information will be forthcoming in future installments.
Michael the main male character explains how the group he is a part of goes back to the time of Jesus and how they played a role in Judas’ betrayal and the crucifixion.
It was a very interesting story but it left more questions unanswered than answered which is good for a series because it makes you read the next book in hopes of getting answers.
A completely brilliant, un-put-downable read - which is saying something considering how I felt about the material. I love you Heather - but in all honesty I get really irritated when people bastardise the story of Jesus life. I've never come across a barstardised version of the life of Mohammad or Buddha but for some reason it's considered perfectly acceptable to do it to Jesus. The fact that I could be so insulted by, but still continue reading says a lot about Heather's talents as an author.
Well, This Book IT Is Totally Different From Any Book That I EVER Read, Wow, I Don't Know What To Say. Don't Get Me Wrong, It Is A Good Book, It's Just All The Twists That Has, It Let Hou Thinking "WHAT?!!" It Test Your Tolerant For Others Opinions About The Stories Of The Bible And What Know, Also Your Faith. Just Keep In Mind That It Is Fiction. It You Can Tolered That, So My Friend You Have To Read This Book, You Will Like All Those Twist And Turns.
A little difficult to follow the Christianity part. And the stuff about Jesus having a atwin was jsut a little over the top. Probably wont read anymore of this series. Michale was interesting, but again it was a little hard to decide if he was an angel or a vampire.
this one was okay for me. still enjoyed Heather's imagination as she can weave a tale like few authors can but this book wasn't as enjoyable to me as her so many of her other books that I've read and I do try to read everything Heather writes as I am truly a fan of her writing.
As far as I'm concerned, this book is prefect by itself...but I can't help wonder, what could happen next? If she could write a sequel like the first, it would no doubt be absolutely amazing.
Ordered from the UK through Amazon. Also ordered the Leopard from Ireland through Amazon. Neither are available in the US yet and they are not available for the Kindle either. EXCELLENT series.
