It's a good, basic background book, but just like its title it aims at beginners and not at experts. I am a HS bowling coach and was just looking to learn anything new and I did. It was great for learning lingo and just the basics that I may have never thought about. There were some typos and misdiagrams in there. I skimmed through most of it and just read the things that were applicable to my coaching. There are chapters covering every aspect of the game.
