This is a breathtaking anthology featuring the innovative poetry of four BC poets—accompanied by images of scribbled drafts and Joe Rosenblatt's fantastic drawings. I particularly like how many of the poems also address the question of identity stemming from different roots.

Here are some memorable lines:

Daniela Elza (from "in the flicker of (time"):
this river is not time.
in the shutter of your eye
it is a l w a y s.

Peter Morin (from "A Map to the Exhibition"):
Just know that wherever you are:
You are on your land
You are the names given by the land
Your footsteps are part of our spoken language

Al Rempel:
A poem can run away with itself. A poem invites others to make the same journey. Often they see what the poet hasn't. A poem can be quiet. It can falter. A poem can do many things, and what it can't do—that's for us to live.

Onjana Yawnghwe:
You read the poem, the poem reads you.
