This provided some overdue brain candy. A collection of hacks and optional systems, many of the ideas in Danse Macabre were quite interesting and I wouldn't mind seeing how they'd work in play, particularly the Social Combat system and the take on the Covenants as global conspiracies rather than city-state level political/academic/religious orders. A few of the other ideas, such as a couple of the new Covenants, were so-so. I also particularly liked the "f*ck off" attitude that came across in a lot of the prose, which made it obvious that the various developers, while having loved doing the whole Requiem line, were glad to be wrapping it up. I'm glad to have gotten my hands on a copy, as it's likely to disappear from circulation rather quickly.
