On the one hand, it's a private investigator hired to find the killer of the client's daughter.
On the next hand, it's an alien planet with inhabitants from a variety of worlds - including some illegal aliens(!!).
On the third hand, it's possible to get DNA tweaks to access traits of various aliens and creatures - vision, smell, strength.

Entertaining story of friendship and skills while searching for the truth.

Wonderful, great world building, the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the mystery didn't end with the clues suddenly adding up.
