This story was just terrible. TER-A-BUL. Its only saving grace? It was FREE from Amazon.

So, Meredith catches her fiance in bed with two of her bridesmaids and she flees to go stay with grandmother at the bed and breakfast that she owns. On day 1 in town, Meredith is heading into the jewelry story/candy shop (yes, really...) and she meets a handsome stranger, Connor, who buys her a ridiculously pricey pendant of emeralds. And some fudge. And she gets in the car with him and they drive off to a secluded location for some sexy times.

Ok, so I knew going into this book that it was going to be all sex. I'm ok with that, really I am. But the story and the sex at least have to be good. In the case of this book - neither were. It had the potential, but it never bothered to go past that. The story was bad. The sex scenes were poorly written. And for the love of Jesus, if I read about Connor's eyes being whiskey-colored or his voice being as warm as honey one more time, I was going to throw my Kindle across the room. Seriously, you can't keep using the same phrase over and over and OVER again. ESPECIALLY in a story this short. I was like, yea....I remember they were whiskey-colored....because you JUST TOLD ME THAT two pages ago! Jesus H. Christ.

Now to another thing that pissed me off. The magic emeralds that were on the pendant that Connor bought for Meredith. Really? Magic fucking rocks? AGAIN? Good Lord. Again, I wanted to throw my Kindle and scream at it "MAGIC ROCKS WILL ALWAYS BE STUPID AND COMPLETELY UNBELIEVABLE IN ANY CONTEMPORARY STORY!" For real, you guys.....stop it with the magic rocks. Maybe, maybe they are appropriate in a paranormal romance, you know, when there are other magical elements in play. But in any situation other than PNR, well....it's just laughable. Well, at least the heroine didn't shove the magic rocks up her vadge this time. And.....that brings me to the next part that was just wrong....

Remember the fudge that Connor bought in the jewelry/candy shop? Well.....Connor thought it would be sexy to eat it OUT OF MEREDITH'S VAGINA. He actually sticks it up in her hoo-ha....sort of fucks her with it.....lets it get all melty and then he sucks it out of her vadge. Excuse me while I throw up! Now, I'm not opposed to, say, chocolate sauce or whipped cream being licked off a body. That's kind of hot. But it stays on the OUTSIDE of the body. It does not venture into any orifices that aren't a face mouth. All I could think when I read about the vadge fudge is "screaming yeast infection". And believe me.....nothing is less sexy than a screaming yeast infection.

Oh, and I forgot to mention.....they're doing all of this on a secluded beach. On sand. Yea, they put a blanket down.....but we all know that sand goes where it wants. So, not only does she have fudge in her va-jay-jay, but I imagine that she got some sand up in there too. And then Connor gets her to get in the ocean with him and he proceeds to wash out her vagina with seawater. Gross, disgusting seawater. Meredith's vagina is quickly becoming the scariest place on Earth.

So, after all the beach banging and fudge packing, Connor drives Meredith back to her car and they go their separate ways. And then the story gets worse. (Yes, it can go down from there....) Meredith wakes up from a nap and she's holding this book about emeralds. One that she's never seen before. And she's wearing the emerald pendant that Connor bought her. But she thinks it's a dream and then the mystery guest that has also been staying at Granny's B&B comes downstairs and offers to take Meredith and Granny to dinner. AND IT'S CONNOR. But he acts like he's never met Meredith before.

Was the whole thing a dream? Was it real and he's just playing coy? If the story didn't suck so much, I would probably care. But I don't.

And really, the one star rating might be one star too many. Yea, it's that bad.

Freebie, yet somehow I feel like I want my money back. Maybe I just want that piece of my life that I spent reading it back. No real plot. Short. Convoluted ending that just made everything confused. Trying to mix genres in such a short medium is just a mistake.

1. What the *bleep* I'm confused about the ending did they actually meet or she dreamed the whole thing and in the end they left but WHAT HAPPEN when they left to go out.

2. The beginning was ok getting into it and next thing I know they are having sex which is ok because I don't mind I like erotica with alot of sex, but they kept going at it sex, sex with freaky stuff him mixing things with her private parts, more sex. I think they came up for air but who knows.

3. After they met, the rest of the book was filled with sex, then the end. I guess the story is about the emerald but the title should have been called "lets see how many times we can have sex by the ocean and be freaky with it". I don't mind that much sex but give a plot a story something in between but back to back sex was overly done the one thing that kept going through my head was Again when they went at it. Cheap books aren't always better

4. Never thought I would say this and I love erotica books but I'm assuming porno movies has better story line and plot than this book.

Ps: that felt so wrong to say.

They met at jewelry/candy shop (or something like that) And he buys her an emerald pendant. He takes her to a beach, they have sex, he tells her some myths about magical emeralds and she lose her rear entrance virginity ... at the beach. Really?, would you lose it on a beach. Whitout some lube with all the sand, eventhough they had a blancket, the sand goes everywhere.

This all happen and then suddenly her grandma is calling her name, she was asleep on the porch at the Bed and Breakfast with a book on her lap. Was a dream and hallucination? who knows?! An then, the other guest of the B&B appears and is Connor! Awesome right?!?! But apparently he doesn't know her. Soooooo, it was real or it was a dream? Hey, she has
the emerald pendant around her neck! So again; it was real or not?!

So, yeah lots of sex on a beach at daylight, some magic emeralds and big confusion at the end.

Interesting take on the green emeralds folk lore from the Egyptians mythical magic. The story was full of explicit erotic sex scenes brought on by the green emeralds. However, once again I felt from this author that the passion between the characters was missing mainly because I felt it was one sided due to the man Connor being in control of every sexual move. It was almost too mechanical for my taste. It was a cute story but didn't Wow me over. Not bad for a free read from Amazon Kindle.

Meredith finds her fiancee cavorting with her two bridesmaids, ending the wedding and finding recluse at her Grandmother's inn. On one of her few outings in town she finds herself exchanging sensual banter that leads to a mindblowing experience.

I don't know what to think about this one, a quickie and although hot, hot, hot I was left slightly confused.

Meredith recently canceled her wedding because she found her fiancé in bed with two of her bridesmaids. So she walks into Chocolates and Gems, combination candy store and jewelry shop, hoping to find something to lift her spirits. There, the most gorgeous man she’s ever seen comes up to her and buys her an emerald pendant she was admiring in the jewelry case. He tells her emeralds were coveted in ancient times for their magical powers and they were believed to heighten sexual desires in women. The handsome stranger, Connor, also offers to share his fudge with her. Soon he’s seducing her. Giving her the most passionate experience of her life.

And I had no idea of the things you can do with fudge. This is a hot and yummy read. Lot’s of fun. I highly recommend it.

Let me first say that I have not read the first two books in the series and I read this as an arc from the publishing company which I appreciated. I would say that I don't think this is a stand alone book. You better read the first two in the series before this one. I found the book pretty confusing. It could have been the translation perhaps. There is a whole lot of time travel to different periods and history by the same characters to the point that they even see themselves when they were younger. My other problems is that the book ambles - It is hard to figure out what the lead protagonists are trying to accomplish. So, be sure to read the first two books in the series.

I enjoyed this book alot. I really liked the way the story started out. The beach and chocolate..two fabulous combinations. But i wish the author would have filled in a few more details and did a bit more with the story line as well. The steamy love scenes were great and i think with a little more story thrown in between some of the action, it would have been one of the kind of books you just read over and over for the romance and story.
I will be looking to read more of this authors books. I really did like this book!

Not bad for a short erotic story. I liked it, enough to look for other books by this (new to me) author. The entire story takes place in a single day. H/h meet, enjoy a afternoon with lots of sex on the beach…..add the magic of a emerald necklace…and voila….H/h find their true loves. It’s hard for me to give short stories a rating, I don’t read that many…but I think as short stories go, I give this one a B.

A good short erotica story. Interesting history on emeralds. Really hot sex between Meredith and Connor. I was happy that even though Connor was the instigator he still had doubts of his own. A solid 3 stars for a short, sexy story.

Sexy Summer Saturdays is a weekly post that Hackaroo's Reviews, Sims-Sational Books, The Autumn Review, and The Bookish Babe created for fun, to spread the word about sizzling summer reads.

~*~*~*~NOTE: This week's selection set me a little on the edge so if you are under 18, please do NOT proceed!!!~*~*~*~

This week's SSS gem is:

Goodreads Description:

Meredith discovered her fianc in bed with two of her bridesmaids. Then she meets a handsome stranger who buys her an emerald pendant and offers to share his fudge with her. Before she can blink she is naked on a private, secluded beach and the mouth-watering stranger is coaxing her into sexual situations that both startle her and bring her more fulfillment than she's ever had. The afternoon is an initiation into the pleasures of the flesh, but sadly all good things must come to an end. Life is about to hand Meredith another surprise which will open yet more doors to her own sexuality.

So this week, April and I read another book together. I love reading these with her because we see eye to eye on these types. We can make fun of the dumb ones (like this one) and have a good time.

I'll start off by saying that I can sum this book up in about two words. All WRONG. Just wrong! In every sense of the word. But the best part is that the entire time we were reading this, April and I had a blast making fun of it. So I'll get to it...

We meet Meredith while she is staying at her grandmother's bed and breakfast. She's at her grandma's place because she found her ex-fiancee in bed with not one but TWO ladies. That must've been awkward....

While she's there, she's mourning her broken heart when her grandma tells her to get up off her ass and do something. So she goes into town. I'm not even sure where this is even at but I have no clue what town would have a shop that is both a jewelry store and a fudge shop. Really? *snorts* No joke....this gets better....

While she is standing in the unbelievabley long line at the fudge shop, she peers over the counter at the jewelry store and see a gorgeous emerald pine tree pin. Yes....a pine tree pin. Feeling the cheese yet?

While she is looking at the necklace, a handsome man mentions that she would look lovely in it. So he tells the cashier to pull it out and he proceeds to put it on her. Then buys it for her. All the while explaining that in ancient Egyptian times, emeralds were considered to bring out your sexuality.

Okay, so first of all.... wouldn't you think this would be weird? I mean even if he is gorgeous, who does that?! Umm...I'd be reaching for my mace right about now.

So after he buys the necklace, he offers to share his fudge he just purchased. Of course she agrees. Before we know it she's driving down to a secluded area in his SUV (*cough* *cough* rapist *cough* *cough*)

They go down to this beach and do the dirty. A few times.

That's the main story. Seriously. I mean this had the ability to be a really cute love story but the reason why I could not take this seriously (I highly doubt that the author meant to be serious), is because of the writing, wording, and the phrasing. I don't really know how to put it except for putting a few gems on here.

His breath hissed as his eyes feasted on her weeping slit (um so gross!!)

"Just lie back sweetheart and let me enjoy my snack." (seriously?!)

And Connor's big body looming over her, every muscle straining with his cataclysmic release (cataclysmic? Word choice=sucks)

I mean I don't know about you but these are the least sexiest ways to describe ANYTHING. Oh! I almost forgot his alien tongue...

His tongue swept against the roof of her mouth and licked the insides of her cheeks.

Seriously, how does this happen? I don't quite comprehend that. LOL So bad.

One of the worst things about this book is the author's use of the c-word. I am not a fan of the word. At all. Even p***y is better than that word and that's even a crappy word to use in a book. Especially if you're a woman. But I counted how many times she used the c-word. 27.

I mean, there are only 3 chapters in the book. Can you not think of any other word to describe it? *shakes head*

Overall, this book had the potential to be a cute story but the author just completely ruined it by adding the derogatory words and grotesque sex scenes. One sex scene in particular will be forever burned into my brain. I'll just say this: fudge enters the vajay jay. Yep. For real.

I going to touch a little bit into the scenarios that had the thoughts of a rapist going through my brain... Here is a breakdown

Guy you just met practically feeling you up in store=potential creeper

Guy you just met invites you to share fudge in a secluded spot=potential stalker

Guy you just met driving you to a secluded spot in his SUV=potential raper

Serious. Warning bells were ringing in my head. Might as well have been driving a big white van with the words "FREE KITTENS" on the side.

Anyways, I'm really glad this was free because if I'd paid money for this I woud've wanted a full refund. But it was fun making fun of it with April. Because that's how we roll yo!

Go check out the other blogs listed above to see what everyone else's SSS is this week. Until next time!!!

Emerald Green is a short erotica by Desiree Holt.
This story is about Meredith and Connor.
Meredith recently ended her engagement after walking in on her fiancé having sex with two women. Needing some privacy, Meredith is staying with her grandmother at her bed and breakfast. It’s not yet tourist season, so the B&B is near empty, with the exception of JC, an author looking for solitude. With her grandmother pushing her to get out of the house, she takes a walk into town to buy chocolate fudge. She spots a beautiful emerald necklace and bumps into an equally beautiful man, named Connor. Everything about this man screams sensuality and he seduces her into wearing the necklace. He pays for the necklace and asks her to join him for fudge. She’s apprehensive at first, but is drawn to this beautiful man. Their flirting becomes intense and they drive to a secluded area on the beach while Connor tells Meredith about the magical powers of the Emerald necklace. The necklace is a seduction jewel and increases her arousal and warms her when she’s cold. They have hot and crazy sex on the beach, in the water, and again on the beach. When they’re both fully spent and full of the sexy fudge, they dress and prepare to head back to town. Just then, Meredith is awoken by her grandmother. She’s not on the beach, but on the B&B porch with a book about Emeralds on her lap. Her grandmother set up a dinner date for her with JC and she’s surprised to see Connor.
It’s obvious that the sexual adventure was real, since much of the love making was from Connor’s perspective. I would have liked to know why she ‘woke up’ on the porch, rather than driving back to the B&B. I would have given this book a 2 out of 5, but the sex scenes were absolutely incredible and push it up another star.

This book was not something I enjoyed reading. There was no real story and the main character irritated me from the start by just going along with a stranger she met seconds ago. Even steps into his car. Just because he's handsome. Sorry, but in this day and age that's not something women do anymore. Too many bad things happened to those who did that women now know better than to trust a stranger. Besides, didn't you tell seconds ago that you just swore of men because recently you found your fiance in bed with two other women? I'm sorry, but I don't think that woman step into cars with strangers when they just experienced something like that.

Oh and that was the whole story by the way. The rest is one long, boring sex scene. Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind reading a lot of sex scenes. As long as it's written well. Not something like this. It totally lacked feelings and some of the things they did just felt wrong to me.

Then there's also the ending. Which I didn't get at all. Was this really necessary? Did the book really have to end with this? What's the point? It only served to make me very confused and unsure of what I just read. Thank god this book was free and only 48 pages long.

This was an ok freebie. I wasn't really that impressed. The basic story line was good and the characters were ok. There wasn't much depth or emotions to this story, and that dampened the appeal to me. I couldn't really get into this one and didn't really feel a connection between them or to the book at all. It also had a crude tint to it throughout instead of a sensual or romantic feel. Not really my style. There were quite a few mistakes too that had me having to read a part over and that didn't help any either. I wouldn't say I hate this, but I gave it two stars for the good basic outline. It could have been better, by a long shot, but it wasn't completely terrible. Pretty much a 'you get what you pay for' cliche. Good Luck

HUH, what to say about this one. Well right from the start I thought "Well, they are not going to waste any time are they". Then it started to get a little to unrealistic to me. The constant references to Emeralds and thrown in historical facts about them just felt odd, and completely out of place. So I started to feel a little "blah, blah, blah" until the abrupt ending. At which point I thought "oh, OK that explains it" only to think, huh or was it. I guess in the end I am still confused. LOL The erotica was pretty good, it only crossed over into the realm of creeping me out at a feel points but that might just be personal squeamishness.

This was an unexpected book, I did not read the bio before downloading it and was quite shocked by the whole story, how can a person go from being upset because of her unfaithful partner to having hot sex on the beach. and was it all a dream at the end, if it was a dream I can say that i have never had such a dream, but if it actually happened then she certainly went over board on the rebound.
though the story was not believable, it was written well and flowed in all the right places

What on earth was that? other than the fact that i didnt buy this from behind the counter at a convinient store it was without doubt a virtual porn magazine with no pics. this book should have an age rating on it. 3 chapters of pure sex. the entire story line is a dream and the end will leave you wondering ok what just happened this was not by any means a story it was clearly just a mishaped piece of work to leave you confused.

for a freebie book from Amazon it was good. And it was HOT. However, I am very confused by the ending. Did they really meet and have the full day rendezvous? Or was it really just a dream? but then again she really does have the pendant. so many things left you wondering at this end of this story that I guess it could go either way, which is maybe what the author wanted? Who knows. but like I said, it was free, a quick read, and wonderfully hot.

The last thing Meredith is looking for is a man as she tries to recover from finding her fiance in bed with two bridesmaids. Yet once she puts on the emerald necklace given to her by the sexy stranger, she finds herself having some of the best damned sex ever.

Can I just say I adore anything by Desiree Holt? Emerald Green did not disappoint. Fun and sexy, this book left me with a craving for fudge. And handsome strangers!

I liked the story a great deal but the ending was weak. Conclusion by Deus ex Machina is usually not good plotting. The author tied up all the loose ends which is a good thing but the character internal logic didn't hold up and I hate the "He loves me-he loves me not" thing that ran through the whole book. How can anyone build trust in a relationship when you can't tell if you're being told the truth. All in all I'm glad I read the whole thing but the ending needed work.

Enjoyable tale that will have you looking for the nearest cold body of water to immerse yourself in and cool yourself down!!! It's steamy hot, including lots of oral and anal sex. Ms. Holt is quite good at bringing eroticism to the printed page. The story revolves around a supposedly magical emerald necklace and two strangers who spend a day engaged in all manner of sexual activity. 4 stars

Highly recommend this series for the middle school or high school girl who loves romance and mystery! Do not tell the younger crowd time travel because for some reason it turns them off.
