My 11-mo-old son REALLY likes this book. He keeps bringing it to me to read to him. (which is saying something because the special "surprise sound" in the back doesn't even work, since this is from the library. I bet he'd like it even more if it did.) I like the pictures a lot too. The rhymes are pretty good as well. I'm definitely going to look into reading the other books in this series.

This is a nice fairly short book about a rooster who goes around the farm inviting all the animals to see his big surprise (he has chicks). The girls like it. It's short, it rhymes and it has "cock a doodle do" sound at the end.

This is a favorite rhyming book around here. A rooster goes around waking up all the other animals because he has an announcement to make - he's a happy new father. Not sure why the mother is never mentioned? :p

I really like the illustrations in this book. And of course we love any farm-related books for Jack.
