Henry Blackaby (yes, he of "Experiencing God") sums this small book up excellently in his Foreword:

"He (David Butts) is addressing a most significant truth from across God's Word, and sharing it in clear and simple ways, so even a child could understand it. This is the way it should always be!"

This book is soaked in Scripture and Butts has enhanced his own thoughts and revelations of the Word with comprehensive reading on the matter. Butts provides a "Suggested Reading List" at the back. There are so many great soundbites that I've highlighted so much of the book that it is covered in yellow highlights.

There are 8 chapters, each complete with a prayer and 5 reflection questions, that make the book very practical and help guide the reader to clarify their own thoughts on the topic. Butts provides an excellent summation in one of his final statements in the last chapter:

"Though spiritual warfare is reality that cannot be avoided, the real value of studying this issue is that it drives us to Jesus."

I cannot recommend this comprehensive and thought-provoking short book enough.

This is a small book of only 100 pages on spiritual warfare. Very timely for the church today. In his introduction, the author tells the reader that his desire is to "introduce the topic in a nonthreatening, yet practical, way for believers." His goal is that Christians take seriously the importance of prayer in this war against the enemy of God, Jesus, the church and believers. Clearly and concisely written, backed with Scripture, it reminds believers of our role against evil.
