Captivating the mind with spellbinding, provocative and ingenious storytelling, author/publisher Richard Jeanty is a master craftsman - and tireless crusader - in the burgeoning arena of “urban literature,” as well as in life.
Founder and President of his own RJ Publications, Jeanty turns words into vivid images, painting well-formed characters that compel the reader to become involved in their sagas.
The prolific New York City-based contemporary wordsmith and visionary founded his publishing company to both publish his own works and to provide an invaluable conduit for talented writers of color to have their works published. He provides encouragement and support to his fellow writers, assisting them with stretching their creative souls and making their own indelible mark on the literary landscape. Says Jeanty, “I want to give each author or artist the exposure they deserve.”
Social activist as much as he is a literary crusader, Jeanty’s mission is to foster change in people and society as a whole. That is always his motivation in all his undertakings. Jeanty’s most meaningful project tackled police brutality and the devastating state of black men in his release of The Most Dangerous Gang in America: The NYPD.
In a short span of five years, Jeanty has written 10 books and published over a dozen written by other authors. Prolific is an understatement as it relates to him. Always the innovator, Jeanty finds ways to bring freshness to every story.
While attending the University of Massachusetts, Richard discovered his passion for prose. He initially pursued a career as a social worker in the Boston metropolitan area, then later served as the academic coordinator for Boston University’s Upward Bound Program. However, due to his unique, narrative writing style, laced with bursts of cinematic flair, Richard’s professors urged him to focus his considerable talents on writing while attending graduate school.
Shortly after earning his B.A. and moving to New York City, Jeanty began to teach at Morris High School in the Bronx, also working for the Department of Social Services’ Administration for Children’s Services. Richard also worked as a Program Director at The Hudson Guild in New York City helping underprivileged kids.
Richard has always been - and still is - dedicated to helping underprivileged children and their families. “I was brought up in an abusive surrounding as a
young child and was on my own at fourteen,” says Jeanty. “My life serves as a solid foundation for what RJ Publications signifies. Nothing but my sheer determination and will pushed me to succeed.”

Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get. ... Mr. Erotica is about an author named Dave who met a fan and found out the true meaning behind that famous quote. This book was recommended to me by the author and I was really looking forward to a well put-together story, but got the total opposite. The premise of Mr. Erotica was promising, but the execution was poor. The story was all over the place and read like it was trying to come together by any means necessary. Information about Kendra that should have been shared in the beginning came out near the end as though it was an afterthought.

Dave is married, has a past I'm guessing as a maintenance man to the ladies as he's had relations with just about all of his wife's friends and was how he met her. As a result, his wife has trust issues, but gives him the ammunition to go out and be unfaithful since she's not being intimate with him. The trouble begins when Dave goes out on the road to promote his latest book. During his signing, he's approached by the sexy and vivacious Kendra. He struggles with his libido on the first encounter and arrives back home to his wife unscathed. On the second leg of the tour, he's not so lucky as Kendra finds her way to another signing in another state. Dave makes the dreaded decision of taking her up on her offer to have drinks. The unforgivable happens along with a helping of blackmail to aide Kendra's mission in getting Dave where she wants him. To show how far she's willing to go, Kendra uses the alias "Kande" and starts a relationship with Dave's brother-in-law and fellow author Kevin. Dave's actions and ways of trying to handle his problem are beyond unbelievable, but not as unbelievable as Kendra's back-story.

What I did like about this book was the bits of knowledge that Richard dropped as a publisher. The distributors he gave were real as was the rest of the information which is very insightful. Dave's hectic schedule was another thing I liked and showed how tenacious Richard is when it comes to the publishing business.

Stalker Alert!!

Author Richard Jeanty’s latest contribution to his long list of interesting sexy stories is Mr. Erotica, which centers on family man, author/publisher Dave Richardson. Dave is on top of his literary passion with a New York Times best seller which has fans from everywhere lining up to purchase his books, and the explicit details in his books has made Dave a favorite in women’s sexual fantasies.

Although Dave is a committed family man and husband, he is struggling with the fact that having three young children is taking its toll on him and his wife Marsha’s love life; which at this point is non-existent. At a book signing he meets Kendra a stunning fan and avid reader who bluntly states she’d love to get together with him for dinner, but her body speaks loud and clear sending signals to a frustrated Dave, that she wants more than just dinner. He battles it out with himself on staying faithful to his wife or taking care of his sexual needs. But Dave bites off more than he can chew giving Kendra ammunition she needs to destroy his world as he knows it.

I’ve read many of Richard Jeanty’s novels and his stories always feel more like fact than fiction, Mr. Erotica is no different. I like how Dave struggled internally about what he should do and I was a part of his thoughts as well as his actions every step of the way. I remember Dave Richardson vividly from a previous novel and Richard did a good job carefully weaving in a little background information on this character, giving new readers who hadn’t met Dave previously a glimpse into his past life. I like how this story unravels…wow Kendra is….well you’ve got to read this and find out for yourself!
If you haven’t read any of Richard Jeanty’s novels, note: all, as well as this one are recommended reads!

Obsession...

Dave Richardson is a successful author with a large female fan base due to the popularity of his erotica books. His first book The Bedroom Bandit was loosely based on his former endeavors letting readers know that he has extensive knowledge on the subject matter he writes about. Dave has left all of his philandering behind for his wife Marsha who was accepting of him even after knowing about his checkered past as a male gigolo. Dave’s literary career has afforded him and Marsha a very comfortable existence allowing Marsha to be a stay at home mom to their three young children. Although Dave adores his children lately he’s been feeling the strain that they’ve placed on his almost non-existent sex life. Gone are the days and nights filled with hot sex Dave has been reduced to getting sexual gratification from his new friend that he’s aptly dubbed Palm-ela.

It is at this point in his life when Dave meets Kendra at a book signing where she snatches up 20 copies of his latest book. Dave was intrigued with Kendra way before the bulk purchase of his novel; she exuded sex-appeal that no one within 25 feet could miss. Kendra was way more than just a fan of Dave’s work her ulterior motives will jeopardize everything Dave’s worked hard to establish; his career and his marriage. To say Kendra is obsessed with Dave is to do her an injustice, her fixation on Dave doesn’t border on crazy it crosses over into new unchartered territory. Author Richard Jeanty does an excellent job with his depiction of Dave as an innocent man struggling with lust and an even more amazing job with Kendra as a psychotic stalker who’ll go to any lengths to get what she wants.
