Radical Classics: Austen, Dickens, Hardy, Nesbit

Rate this book
Four classic adaptations with a difference. Pride and Prejudice has a cast of three with many characters either merged or dropped entirely. The Micawbers focuses on two major characters supported by David Copperfield with guest appearance from Uriah Heepe and his mother. Bathsheba is taken from the Hardy novel, Far from the Madding Crowd and deals with the three men in Bathsheba Everdene's life. The Railway Child[ren] is a radical retelling of E Nesbit's novel with two of the children never to be seen.
