Wow! Wow! Wow! What a book! I was pulled into Jamie's story instantly and couldn't put the book down. With the way Lynette wrote, especially the Hero's parts, there were times I was creeped out! Careful about reading this late into the night, lol!
LOVED every minute I spent in this book!!!!!!!
Women of Justice series is one of my favorite law-enforcement suspense/thrillers I've read to date!

Such a thrillingly creepy bad guy this has! Definitely reminiscent of a Criminal Minds villain. A couple of things took one star off my rating: a number of run-on sentences/comma splices/fragmented sentences (especially in conversation, where it would sound really awkward if someone spoke so), and my guessing who the villain was early on. And a few things remained unexplained, like how the guy ended up with an X-ray machine, or how they knew the victim numbers at the time they did.
Otherwise, an excellent thriller! This one will make your blood run cold in some spots...
I loved Jamie and getting to hear more about Samantha and meeting Kit (heroine of book 3). I'm looking forward to the next installment!

I figured out who the killer was within 15 percent of the book. Probably in part because this author used the same pattern as in the first book of this series. Given that technique, it was easy to pinpoint who the bad guy was. Pretty predictable in general.
It's not a bad book. Clean and easy to read. But it probably wouldn't stay with you or thoroughly enthrall most readers, IMO.

4.5 Edgy Stars!
Really enjoyed this one! The suspense was really edgy and had me on my toes throughout.
I love how Lynette Eason includes faith into her novels.
Definitely recommend if you like suspense with a faith angle. Will be reading book 3 in the near future :).

This one is kind of disgusting and boring with the telling of the Jaime story over and over and over.

This was such an enjoyable read! I absolutely fell into the suspense of it all so quickly and loved the journey that all of the twists and turns took me on. The faith content was so central to the story and its characters. The characters themselves, as well, continued on from the first book as being so well crafted and executed from a writing perspective. I absolutely adored following Dakota and Jamie in this book! If I’d felt like I could have, I would’ve given the book 5 stars just for the two of them!
I will say quickly, however, that I figured out what the twist at the end would be at only 30% through the book, so I spent the last 20% of the book frustrated by the fact that I wasn’t surprised by the majority of what was happening. Despite this, though, the suspense was still really solid and consistent throughout the majority of the book. I really enjoyed my time with this book and absolutely will revisit it in the future!

A thrilling read! I was glued to the pages and read it in one sitting. For once in Eason's books I correctly suspected who the villian was fairly early on, but I still had my doubts all the way to the end. The villain was terrifying- all of Eason's book villains are but this one especially.
I loved the main characters Jamie and Dakota! Jamie was a pretty amazing main character, showing courage and trust in God when her abductor from her past comes back 12 years later. And Dakota! I loved his patient pursuit of Jamie and his relentless fight to protect her.
On to book 3!

With a suspect so twisted you feel like you are in an episode of Criminal Minds, and then with a forensic anthropologist as the main female character, you feel like you are in an episode of Bones :-). Both of these series are 2 of my favourites, so I definitely enjoyed the book.
Suspense wise I felt book 1 in the series kept me more on my seat and guessing till the end. Book 2, the suspense is great and what is happening to Jaime is scary and twisted (makes me look twice now), but I did guess the suspect correct very early in the book which took some of the suspense away for me, however, there was a twist at the end I totally did not see coming.
Jaime's faith and trust in God through everything was so inspiring. I really loved her character and Dakota's behaviour and feelings towards her, especially a scene in the hospital at the end.
Will definitely recommend this to everyone who likes a great suspense.

I read two other suspense mysteries in the last few months which were both more enjoyable. Several plot elements were too predictable. Character development here did not work for me.

This was a good book but difficult to read at times due to the violence committed by the villain. It was almost a little to creepy for me. Once again, Eason packs her plot from start to finish with action and suspense. I love the group of characters that star in the Women of Justice series. They not only work together but are very supportive of one another. Although I knew about halfway through the book who the bad guy probably was, there were still enough twists, turns, and surprises that it made the book interesting. The slow developing relationship between Jamie and Dakota was very well written, and I loved the way Jamie's deep faith helped renew Dakota's relationship with God.
Although, due to the violence incorporated in this book, I liked Too Close to Home better, this was still a good read because I enjoyed the relationships between all of the characters so much.

s looking forward to Jamies's story after the teasing of it in book 1 of this series and it didn't disappoint. It's full of suspense and twists and turns. I did figure out the killer pretty quick but it's still a page turner. As I mentioned in my review of book 1 I don't normally read Christian books and that is a big part of this series. I think for any Christian they would enjoy Jamie's faith in the face of so much adversity. A good read

4.5⭐️ Jam packed with suspense and creepiness! Definitely be aware of heavy presence of topic of abuse, for those that are sensitive. Eason treats the subject realistically, depicting how the lasting effects of mistreatment. I deducted 1/2 star because it was obvious early on who the villain was.

I love Jamie’s character- seeing how she’s grown and how much stronger she is since her attack/abduction! I do wish there had been more personal conversations between Jamie and Dakota but it was good and so suspenseful.

Don't Look Back was fantastic! I enjoyed it even more than book one, Too Close To Home, which I loved! The suspense was great and I found a lot of scenes very intense... I also got creeped out a little by things the killer did/said.
I loved getting to know Dakota and Jamie more. After having been introduced to them in Too Close To Home, I could hardly wait to read their story as Dakota was one of my favorite characters.
While I did guess who the killer was, I was still surprised by quite a few things in Don't Look Back and the ending was very thrilling! There were some really sad scenes, but also some very happy ones. I loved how Jamie and Dakota interacted with each other. ;)
All in all, a great read and I am really looking forward to reading A Killer Among Us as soon as I can. This book's epilogue definitely grabbed my attention and now I want to know what is going to happen next.

This book may be triggering to those who have experienced sexual abuse.
That being said, it represented the aftermath of abuse very, very well. I was skeptical of how this subject would be handled, but the author did a fabulous job. As one who has experienced sexual abuse, I appreciated the accuracy of the portrayal. The same goes for how the mental abuse and mind games were represented. Jamie's anxiety, panic attacks, constant self-doubt, and trust issues hit very close to home with me. I myself was not triggered by reading this, but I do feel that it's important to have a warning at the beginning of books like this to inform those who are more sensitive to this subject.
I appreciate the author addressing this issue and writing about such a tough subject. She handled it very well.

Wow! I liked this book way better than the first! It was just so action-packed, and made you practically jump out of your skin.
First of all, I knew it The Hero was going to end up as George. He had several signs. Was around Jamie all day, knew how to get to her house, and others. It was the typical mystery of the murder being a close friend.
Jamie has finally put her tragic past behind her, and is starting to come out of her shell. Then she uncovers bones that remind her of her killer. Wrist bones that had been broken and then healed, and a slash to the neck hitting the bone. And with a number burned into her skin, same as Jamie.
I really liked Dakota. He was the perfect male figure, who really cared and loved Jamie enough to want to get involved with a serial killer to protect her.
And I'm glad Jamie was able to open her heart and trust Dakota.

An interesting novel for sure. Lots of suspense and good faith elements with super sweet romance.
I loved the mystery as hard hitting as it was. The characters are strong. So much happens in this book. I guessed a certain element, but a certain loss shocked me and made me really sad. I wish certain faith elements had wrapped up a bit differently, but I do love the way that the romance developed. Trigger warnings in content below

I like Lynette Eason's books and storylines, and this book is no exception. But for me, her writing it just too graphic. I tended to skip around on this book because some of the descriptions were just too graphic. If those kinds of things don't bother you, then you will probably truly like this book. But if you prefer not to read those kinds of descriptions, I would be careful reading this book.

This book felt really formulaic. It was almost like she took the same formula from the first book and put in the second book with different characters. I figured out who the bad guys were early on, and the book lost my interest from there.

It looks like from the reviews that I am one of the few readers who did not like this book too much. I do think her writing got a bit better but the villain was too easy. The strength, to me, is in the characters not in the mystery.

This one was slightly predictable, the next one probably will be too, but I'm gonna finish the stories...lol...
Characters:
Jamie was a dear and I felt so bad for her and her past. I wanted so much for her to just have a nice and calm rest of her life instead of having to deal with a crazy guy.
Dakota was nice...a bit pushy at times with Jamie, which I didn't appreciate. We also learned about his past but I didn't feel like much of anything was resolved. Which I think I had a similar problem with the first book...these are some of Eason's first books so it makes sense that she would get better as time goes on.
It was nice to see Connor and Samantha again!
Romance:
Just some hugs and kisses, Jamie has been raped in the past, and though there's nothing on page, there are some quick flash backs and mentions of a guy's hands on her.

Yes, there's a sicko who kidnaps girls, rapes them, hurts them, and then kills them...some of the injuries and death are in a bit much detail for me...there are several 'bodies' found, mostly bones, which is what eventually leads to catching this guy...but it is pretty intense.
A character gets stabbed, throat cut, almost has a miscarriage, mentions of lots of blood and bleeding...for those with sensitivity.
Overall:
This was a pretty good book and I always enjoy a Lynette Eason book!

I like Lynette Eason's description of the settings, which allowed me to imagine being part of the book's plot.

Twisted, suspenseful, and faithful. Criminal Minds meets Bones with Justice League companions.
Although it shouldn't be too hard to figure out who the bad guy is, it's how do they figure it out and stop him before it's too late. An ending with a twist will keep you reading all night...with the light on.

Comparing this book to Too Close To Home, I enjoyed Don't Look Back a lot more. The creepy level was off the charts for me...which automatically made me love the book! I do not reccomend reading this book at night! The romance was so nice and sweet. Dakota and Jamie are my favorite characters in this series for sure. A clean suspenseful read reccomended to 15 and up!

Lots of twists and turns in this one. Jamie Cash's stalker is back with a vengeance. He is watching her everywhere she goes. He not only goes after Jamie but he attacks her sister Samantha Cash Wolfe from the first book in the Women of Justice series. He also kills Jamie's therapist/friend, Maya Olsen and leaves her body in Jamie's bathtub. Jamie's long-lost twin sister, Kit Kenyon, makes her first appearance in this book.
Dakota Richards, FBI Special Agent, becomes Jamie's protector, friend and confidant. He fell in love with her when he first met her 2 years previously. He can't seem to breath when he is away from Jamie but Jamie has intimacy issues after her abduction when she was eighteen. Dakota has been waiting patiently for Jamie to feel comfortable with him and he finally sees some progress and then her stalker, known only as The Hero resurfaces.

Gripping action! Great suspense! DON’T LOOK BACK is everything I look for in a suspense novel. Even though I knew early on who Jamie’s attacker was, the story that unfolded was a thrill to devour. Knowing there will be at least be one more installment in the Women of Justice series (clues from the Epilogue), I will waited anxiously for its release.

Gripping action! Great suspense! DON’T LOOK BACK is everything I look for in a suspense novel. Even though I knew early on who Jamie’s attacker was, the story that unfolded was a thrill to devour. Knowing there will be at least be one more installment in the Women of Justice series (clues from the Epilogue), I will waited anxiously for its release.
