This is volume 3 of the 3 part commentary of the book of James. Pastor Boice preached in his church on the book of Psalms for 6 years and then the sermons were turned into a set of 3 books. All 3 books were good but this was the best of the 3 especially his teaching on Psalm 119. I loved it. I am now studying the 119th Psalm on my own and am loving that as well. It took me several years to read through the 3 volumes but I believe that it was well worth it.
Let me say this. Even if you never read a book about the Psalms, read the Psalms. They are a picture of real life and give a wonderful picture of God in the midst of all that life can bring.

One of the best commentaries I have ever read! I loved it start to finish. Boice is both theologically rich and spiritually practical. Will definitely be reading more of his work!

I've studied one or two psalms a week for the past few years using this three-volume series as a resource. It has greatly enhanced my enjoyment of the psalms and he has helped bring out many insights I wasn't aware of. usually we agreed.

At time I think James Boice can be a little dry, but I was pleasantly surprised by the volume on Psalms 107-150. Very helpful break downs of the text, and he almost always had a story or illustration helpful for preaching.
