Kuniyoshi: From the Arthur R. Miller Collection

Having seen the show at Japan Society NYC, I can say that this book captures the essence and more. It's a huge catalog and high quality. Great reference and/or coffee table book. Color reproduction is excellent. My only complaint is I felt that the book could have been the same size as the actual woodblock prints. As it is, the scans are smaller than the originals and the details are much larger. I imagine that it may have been too heavy and cost prohibitive to make it actual size. A few select fold-outs of the triptychs would have been nice as well! Also check out the hi-res digital prints from the show available through Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Highly recommended.
