I read the book Junie B. Jones and the mushy gushy valentine. This book is about Valentine’s Day in class. 9 where Junie B. gets to class and realizes that she has a secret admirer. Throughout the day she tries to find him only to discover that it is Meanie Jim. The two find out that they are not friends because each remembered the other being mean first. They talked out their feelings and decided that they started being mean at the same time. Because of their new understanding both students decide to become secret friends so things can stay the same. This book could be used as a lesson about how things are not always as they seem. Sometimes if you don’t like someone or if you think they are being mean that it might all be a misunderstanding. This book could be a lot of fun for younger elementary students, and for some of them this book might be easily relatable.
