A century after a global nuclear holocaust, Ryan Cawdor and his band of warriors, seeking a better life, arrive in Florida, where a technical genius has claimed a former amusement park as his domain, and his guests are challenged to survive his re-engineered rides.
I remember it so distinctly...I've lived in Florida my whole life, only 2-3 hours from the 'Rat Trap' and actually read this on the way to EPCOT! Wow, talk about creepy.
These are so much fun, even with the overall dismal thematics of the series. I'm thinking I may have to start them up again, as I that they go on ad infinitum!
I liked how this one started out, but then it went in a different direction than expected. It still more or less follows the formula, but they are different enough to be interesting. They are just quick stories to listen to like an action TV show. Dean is a new character. He's Ryan's son and can be pretty annoying at times, as any 10 year old can be.
The "don't call me kid" thing didn't work. You are a kid.. zip it. Thought the Ryan/Dean relationship was way to forced. Seemed odd calling him dad after only just meeting him but referring to his mother by her name. Maybe it's just me but I wasn't a fan. Oh well, on to Chill Factor.
