Want to know God better? This study of more than 200 names and titles of God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit will help! By veteran Bible reference writer George W. Knight, The Names of God shows you the meaning behind each name—from Abba, Advocate, and Amen to Wall of Fire, Way, and Word. Lavishly illustrated in full color, The Names of God is a Bible reference book with a devotional flavor.
George W. Knight III is an ordained minister in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. He is a theologian, author, preacher, churchman, and adjunct professor of New Testament at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Taylors, South Carolina. He holds a B.D. Westminster Theological Seminary, 1956; Th.M Westminster Theological Seminary, 1957; Th.D. Free University of Amsterdam, 1968.
This book looks at more than 250 names of God found in the Bible and explains the significance of each name. What I like about this book that separates it from similar titles (although, I confess that I really haven't done much research) is that it breaks out the names by God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Many of the similar works usually concentrate on Jesus. The description of each name reveals a different facet about the character of God.
