superb account of the aftermath of the division of East and West Germany, 9-10 years after the end of the Cold War. Turns out there is a psychological wall between the two sides even though the physical wall is gone. Wonderful writing, great/subtle use of humor.

Really interesting to read about the divide through the whole of Germany rather than just Berlin, although the chapter on Berlin was great too.
