As much as I love Martine, I wasn't expecting to be blown away by this book. The first one was great and the second one was not as great. This one though, made the other two really wonderful. The way she tied everything together from the first two books was amazing. This book dealt with some heavy themes and it really made me think. And she does an amazing job with her plots--I could never figure out what was going to happen (except for a few minor things).

A matriarchal fantasy so rich yet so beautifully simple, it teaches truth with breathtaking elegance.
