Magic is real. The stories parents once told their children were true. Monsters exist in this world.
Jack wasn't supposed to be there that night. It was a silly dare that changed everything, one that revealed the truth about his life and the world he lived in.
It was the night that the old school burned down, that he met her, Kaitlyn.
It was the night he learned the truth.
There is magic in this world, and there are monsters. His eyes have been opened, and now they can no longer be closed.
What part will Jack play in the unexpected world he has found himself thrust into?

I was born in a little town situated somewhere in Ohio and raised in an even smaller town some place in Colorado. I attended University for a time, where I discovered that while I enjoyed Electrical Engineering and Computer Science my true passion lay in writing. I live primarily in Colorado but have been known to move around as the need arises. When not writing, I enjoy riding motorcycles, reading anything I can get my hands on, and anime.
Great story line and characters. Refreshing story about young people growing up and learning to make mature decisions. Hope to read more books se5 in this universe.
I stopped at 40% I am not that guy, but it’s just too YA for me. Story is well written and characters fleshed out, but for me, it was a repetition of same trope and while written well, couldn’t keep my attention from wondering why some of the characters are so stupid and my attention span wonders to something else. 4 stars for the solid effort, lack of typos and general well written story. Just because it’s not for me doesn’t mean it’s bad, please do give this a try! :)
There is a lot of growth potential based on this book.I’m looking really forward to the second book and seeing how things develop with the various players.
Loved the book. Was very happy to find it and would suggest it to anyone who likes urban fantasy. Really enjoyed it and am hoping there will be another book in the series.
