I DNFd this book at 30%. I very rarely grade a book when I’ve read this little but the author has made a cardinal sin for me. She’s made the heroine unacceptably stupid. The heroine had an affair with one of her professors, mistake #1. You should never get involved with someone who has power over you. That’s why I very, very rarely read books where the heroine is having an affair with her boss. Heroine avoids warning signs about his increasing controlling behaviour. She catches him with another woman, he brushes it off but she ends things. He then turns stalker AND SHE CONSIDERS GOING BACK WITH HIM. Good golly what an idiot. She ignores her friends advice that she do something about his furious and threatening voice mails. The storyline then has a small group of very well trained former seals start guarding a new roommate and there are sparks between one of them and her. Even as the creep actively stalks her and the Guardian senses her stress, she denies anything is wrong.

At this point I’m done. I can’t stand stupid.

First I received this book as an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review .

I absolutely loved Zeb and Kaye as a couple and how the entire book their relationship was a slow burn. It is a bit different than some of the other Guardian HRS stories and I was a little worried it was moving slowly. But like the master she is Ellie brought the angst, and that feeling of impending anxiety that are in all her books.

Towards the end of the book I felt I was on the edge of my seat holding my breath and plunging off a cliff . I couldn’t stop turning the pages as fast as I could to see what happened next. Now on the Cara’s Protector and the Rescuing Barbi although I don’t want Bravo team to be over but on what a ride .

Book 4 in the new Bravo team, this new installment is a fast paced, angsty and steamy slow burn romance.
A twisty edge to how the rescue mission unfolded gave this read a realistic and relatable aspect.
Zen is a character you have to get to know blindly!

Ellie Masters has wtitten a 5-star book. This is the story of Kaye and Zeb. Kaye has broken up with her boyfriend Scott and he has not taken it well. He gets mad when she doesn't answer his calls. He is sending her threatening messages. Kaye and her roommate Barbie are waiting for their roommate Carmen and her friend Rosalie to be brought home. Carmen had been taken by her father who was part of a human trafficing ring. Carmen and Rosalie were rescued by the Hostage Rescue Specialists. The four men in the group are Rafe, Hayes, Alec, and Zeb. When the group brings Carmen and Rosalie home and Kaye and Zeb meet, sparks fly between them. Kaye doesn't want anything to do with him because of Scott. Zeb finds out about Kaye's breakup from Scott from her. She doesn't tell him about the text messages. The team is staying at their apartment to guard Carmen and Rosalie from Carmen's father. After Kaye and Zeb meet, she starts acting weird by coming home and going to her room. Zeb wants to talk to her and Barbie tells him to just go to her room and get her to talk. He sees marks around her wrist and ask about them. She ends up telling him about how Scott caught her and threatened her friends if she didn't come back to him. Zeb tells her that he can help her get away from Scott. Zeb makes a phone call to get things in place for the girls to be taken to a safe place. Zeb has plans to take all the girls to the teams headquarters but they can't find Barbie. Once they are at headquarters, things between Kaye and Zeb heat up. They end up together and things are going well between them. They go out to a bonfire with some friends and Kaye and Zeb leave early. While on the way back to headquarters, Scott attacks them with his car. Zeb takes Scott down but they have no way to get him to headquarters now. Alder, Scott's partner comes up and Kaye thinks he can help them but she is wrong. Alder and Scott hurt Zeb and take her. Zeb is fround by his friends but is in bad shape and needs surgery to save him. When the team finds out what happened, they start looking for Kaye. At first they can't find her but soon they have where she is. Kaye doesn't know why she has been taken and Alder and Scott are not telling her anything.
Can Zeb and the team get to Kaye before something happens to her?
Will things between Kaye and Zeb work out?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

A different kind of romance story!

The book, "Rescuing Kaye: A Special Forces Protector Romance Suspense Novel" first intrigued me by its front cover....honest! When I read the description about a beautiful woman being rescued by a hot, sexy hero, I could NOT say no! I am a romantic at heart, and the premise of this story had me hooked! This is the first book I've read by Ellie Masters and I am so glad I did! The story begins immediately between Kaye and Jeb, and never stops! Ellie's description of the Special Forces Protector team is perfect! This is a very fast moving story; yet, she doesn't leave anything out that leaves the reader confused. Plus, the steamy love story developing between Kaye and Jeb had me rooting for both of them! The background story of kidnapping, human trafficking and terrorism just added more to the overall impact of this story! I was finished in just under two days! Ellie Masters writes a thoroughly detailed and addictive book that gives romance stories new spiciness! I highly recommend this book, as well as every single book in this series! I'm onto the next one already! These stories have given my "old" romantic heart new life!

I loved that this book took a departure from the last two books. Kaye is a college student dealing with a stalker ex and Zeb, Guardian and playboy extraordinaire who although he's been friend-zoned, is still willing to be there for Kaye. This book is so timely with a man who used his position and power over a student. Yes, it can be argued that Kaye was initially a willing participant. But when someone is using their position of power, it's never an equal relationship. Zeb is totally interested in Kaye, even with his teammates warning him off. Even though she's been pushing him away, he still wants to help and when he discovers the full situation he immediately is in protector mode. To then have this story warp into overdrive in the suspense category threw me for a loop, but in the best way possible. This author has the best way of weaving multiple storyline and I'm so looking forward to the next two books.

Rescuing Kaye was slightly different than the other stories in the series but it still had all the intensity and suspense that I love. 

Zeb and Kaye's relationship was a slow burning romance with plenty of feeling, they had instant attraction and great chemistry from their first meeting. 

As a Guardian Zeb realises pretty quickly that Kaye is hiding a secret and she's clearly terrified of something or someone. He makes it his mission to find out what has her so spooked. 

I liked how Zeb stepped straight into Protector mode when it came to Kaye. He uncovers more than he expected when his attraction turns into a dangerous mission, but with the help of his team and a little bit of Mitzy Magic Zeb gets his girl. 

I'm still desperate to know what is wrong with Forest, each book gives little glimpses but never enough to fully reveal what's up with our loveable fearless leader. Hopefully all will become clear soon. 

Bring on the last two books from Bravo Team, I can't wait. 👏

The Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists series just keeps getting better and better! Just when I think I have my favorite couple figured out, each book changes my mind. Ellie Masters has a way with words that will leave you on the edge of your seat. Kaye and Zeb have chemistry right from the start. The attraction is immediate. However, even though he wants more, Zeb senses that Kaye needs a friend to talk to without judging her. He fits the bill in more ways than one. Kaye has made some not very wise choices and it doesn't look to be getting better. Zeb is determined to help Kaye out of whatever she's gotten herself into. This story is full of suspense, secrets and dangerous situations. Zeb and Kaye have some harrowing stuff to get through to get the HEA they deserve. Get this book and find out if they have what it takes to go the distance. Sorry, no spoilers. I received this ARC and here is my honest review.

When Kaye finds herself in a difficult situation, it is Zeb who helps her find the strength to help herself. With threats being made against Rosalie, Carmen and Barbi as well, the four of them stay at Guardian HQ but when Zeb is almost killed and Kaye kidnapped everyone comes together to try and find the two men at the heart of the trouble and rescue Kaye and hopefully Barbi and Alec who are also missing. Ellie Masters has done it again. Well written and full of intrigue and suspense the Guardians do, yet again, that which they are best at. Strong, dominant men, they bring out the best in the women they fall for, despite the trauma these women go through, ensuring they feel safe and loved with them by their sides.

This was written differently than Rescuing Carmen and Rescuing Rosalie (my two favorites). But it was enjoyable for friends Kaye, Barbi, and Carmen to be together again, with new roommate, Rosalie. Even with the cautiousness that the girls were under, I began to think this was just a reunion of friends and the meeting of new ones, the Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialist, Bravo Team. But just when I had let my guard down, the story had intensity like no other.
A friend and I agreed that "this author weaves stories and combines series like no other" we've ever read. And Rescuing Kaye is a testament to it!
Defined characters, descriptive surroundings. You almost feel like you're there, leaning into the curves, feeling the breeze, smelling the fresh air off the ocean.
But Rescuing Kaye, still leaves us wondering; what's going on with Forest?

Bravo Team is back and ready for its next adventure. This one stateside. Kaye, one of Carmen’s college roommates, ended up in a bad relationship and even though she ended it, he doesn’t agree. It is up to Zeb, a Bravo Team member, who is warned away from her by his teammates, to get her out of it for good. Only their attraction gets stronger with every interaction they have.

Ellie Masters does her magic, with a bit of Mitzi’s thrown in, by weaving this story not only around Bravo Team, but so many other characters that you might have met along the way in the connected series. And while this book can be read on its own, you will have so much more enjoyment if you are aware of the other storylines to get to know the side characters as well.

This book takes you on a thrilling, intense, edge of your seat adventure and leaves you panting for more. Ellie Masters at her best. So, why are you still reading reviews? Add it to your collection now.

This book was phenomenal! From the "to my readers" to the sneak peek of the next book, I couldn't put this book down (sorry hubby). Only Mrs. Masters could weave multiple stories into one book and have it all make sense. She is a master craftsman of writing. Kaye and Zeb have off the charts chemistry that oozes off the pages. Kaye shows us that opening up about something, even if you are ashamed of it, can take your vulnerability and turn it into strength. Strength that can benefit you in the future. Zeb is an awesome hero. He gives Kaye someone to lean on without pressure for more. Someone to open up to and be vulnerable with and not worry about being taken advantage of again. This might be my favorite book yet. Thank you for this masterpiece. Truly mean that.

If you want a series that gets better with every addition to it then this is the one for you. Ellie has the ability to make every story feel fresh and new as she manages to wind several story lines through each addition.

Zeb is a Guardian but he is also a bit of a playboy so when he shows an interest in Kaye his team warn him away after all she is very young. But what they don't realise is that Zeb has realised that Kaye needs a friend more than anything and he is willing to be that friend. With Kaye's stalker issue getting worse Zeb will do whatever he need's to in an effort to keep her safe and in the process they may both act on the attraction that is flaring between them. There will be plenty of danger suspense and drama before they get to the bottom of what is going on.

Bravo Team is Stateside

While Bravo Team is known for its adventures outside the states, this one is right in their backyard. Kaye, Carmen’s college roommate, is in trouble after a breakup with professor. He, Howe, is not ready to let her go. Zeb, who is warned off from her by his teammates, is the one to step up to protect her. And with each of their interactions, their attraction only grows stronger.

This thrilling, intense, edge of your seat adventure takes you on an adventure and leaves you with questions. Ones that make you pant for the next two upcoming releases.

Add in the fact that you see so many side characters for her previous series, it makes you want to read them all, or reread them in my case. This book is reminiscent of Ellie Masters Rescuing Melissa. It is definitely one you will want to add to your collection.

Loved Kaye and Zeb's Story

Zeb and Kaye's book is the fifth book in the Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists Bravo Team Series. You can enjoy it as a standalone but it is connected to the other books in the series so those characters show up in this book. I love this series there's just something about those protective alphas from Guardian you can't help but fall in love with. Zeb and Kaye's connection is strong from the moment they meet. Zeb realizes he's going to need to take it slow with Kaye but believes she's worth it. Kaye is dealing with an ex who is stalking and harassing her but she's to scared and embarrassed to tell anyone about it. Page turning steaminess, can't wait to read book six.

Kaye first meets Zeb when he is part of the Bravo team watching the two women they had rescued from a human trafficking ring. Kaye has dumped her controlling ex but he is trying to blackmail her to return to his abusive control by threatening her friends. Zeb and the Bravo team move the women back to the Guardian Headquarters for protection, but Scott is still after her.

What is going to happen to her, and what dark secret will the team uncover?

This book starts slowly but it quickly becomes a story I couldn't put down. This story was set in the USA on the Pacific coast. It is a standalone book but there are characters from the other books in the series.

Like many of Ellie Masters’ readers, I have a deep and abiding attachment to Forest, so any book in which he features is automatically welcome. But Rescuing Kaye is awesome in its own right, with tension, outstanding characters, and a storyline that won’t let you go. We’re no longer fighting Carmen’s father and their trafficking, but that threat lingers all the time. Zeb and Kaye are a breath of fresh air, and their story is different and well worth reading. It’s another Ellie Masters success – and now we need the next one please!

Wow, Rescuing Kaye is another amazing read from Ellie Masters.
Book 5 in the Series, is Zeb & Kaye's story.
Kaye is dealing with a stalker ex-boyfriend. A very unhinged one at that.
She meets Zeb, and feels a connection with him. But keeps him at arms length.
Zeb is attracted to Kaye, and wants to explore where things can go. However, his friends/teammates warn him not too. And Kaye keeps him in the friendzone.
When things with her stalker get worse, Zeb makes his feelings known and vows to protect Kaye and keep her safe.
This was another amazing, suspenseful read!

No Jungles Here - But High Octane Romance & Action!!

Team Bravo is following up on Carmen’s and Rosalie’s safety (from prior books). Their roommate Kaye is being stalked by her professor. Now Kaye worries that the recommendation to get into vet school is also at risk.

Team member Zeb notices Kaye, and notices her flighty behavior as she spots her professor/ex-boyfriend Scott watching the apartment. His protective instincts kick in.

The city streets and country roads may be just as dangerous as the South American jungles as events escalate. We get more of Forest and Skye and the Angel Fire band. A delightful action-packed, entertaining and romantic story - which queues up the next one quite nicely!

I love the book and series. Can't wait for the next book. Ms Master's books keep you engaged, interested and unable to put the book down. Kaye is attending veterinary school and has been dating her professor. She breaks it off when she finds him having sex with another student. He is obsessed with her though and doesn't want to let her go. She meets Zeb, a Guardian on Bravo team. They are attracted to each other on sight. What happens when her professor's behavior get dangerous? Can Zeb keep Kaye safe? Must read to find out.

ARC review. Rescuing Kaye is another great guardian book by Ellie Masters. Zeb and Kaye’s romance starts off as a slow burn “just friends” romance. As the storyline amps up so does their chemistry until both their attraction and the action packed story explode into a book that I couldn’t put down. I loved that Forrest, Skye, the Angel Fire band, Carmen and Rosalie are part of the story as I love to keep up with the characters’ lives that I met in previous books. Can’t wait for the next few books because I have to find out what is going on with Forrest and also Barbie and Alec. I’m glad that Zeb and Kaye got their well deserved HEA.

Ellie Masters delivers all the goods in this addictive suspense romance!!! I absolutely loved this book! I fell into this book head first and couldn't stop until I finished it!! It has perfect suspense, combustible chemistry, heart-string-pulling emotion, well-timed and witty banter, and the slow-burn build-up to a steamy romance made this an unputdownable page-turner. It’s one of my top favourite reads so far for 2023!! Definitely needs to be on your TBR list and in your library. Can’t wait to pick up the next book in this fantastic series. Happy reading everyone

I absolutely throughly enjoyed reading Zeb and Kaye's thrilling story.
Love how Bravo Team and the rest of the GHRS all come together to help Zeb rescue Kaye from her evil capturers.
Brilliant storyline, wonderful characters and loved the HEA.
So looking forward to finding out what happened to Alec and Barbi and hopefully getting to meet the members of Charlie Team!!

Wow talk about a page turning read that’s Zeb and Kaye’s story. From start to finish you are kept guessing till the end and still there are more unanswered questions. Kaye’ s in an extremely toxic relationship with her Professor Scott. As she gets to know the Guardian crew especially Zeb she realizes she needs to get her life back and move on. This proves to be a lot harder then she thought. How it all works out makes for a phenomenal read!

When Kaye and Zeb meet, there is electricity between them. But Kaye needs a friend more than a lover and Zeb becomes that for her. When he needs to rescue her from her stalker, their relationship ramps up. They have to wade through some dangerous situations, but they do have their HEA.

I love these books by Ellie Master. All the books are entwined with other series she writes, but each one can be read as a stand alone.

Another brilliant, exciting and romantic adventure with the Bravo team and the gang at Guardian HRS as well as the rock gods of Angel Fire. Zeb is my new favourite Guardian and I loved his protective instincts towards Kaye. Kaye's character shows how easy it can be to get into a bad situation that cannot easily be gotten free from. Both characters were very likeable. Love this series.

I thought that Zeb and Kaye's story was a real powerhouse read. This book grabbed me quickly in a wicked fierce grip and I did not want to put it down for ANYTHING!!! The intensity of the emotions is perfectly balanced with the intensity of the unfolding drama, so be prepared to have your, heart, mind and nerves to all get a high-impact workout. This is book #5 in this series and it’s vet student Kaye and Guardian Zeb’s story. I was hooked from the first page of this book and couldn’t put it down. The slow burn romance, exciting suspense, action, twists and turns, banter, and sizzling chemistry made for a perfect page turning read. Highly recommend!

Part of the Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists: Bravo Team series another suspense filled story. Zeb and Kaye's story kept me turning pages with its drama, a villain, twists, turns and romance. This is a series I would say is best read in order. The story is well written with a great storyline that grabbed my interest from the start.
