Who said being eaten by the big bad wolf was a bad thing?
Maizie Hood struggles to keep her bakery turning a profit, her landlord from evicting her, and her dear Granny in a nursing facility. Wrestling with the decision to sell Gran’s cottage is hard enough. The last thing she needs is her childhood big-bad-wolf nightmares turning into real-life adult fantasies. Sexy businessman Gray Lupo’s sudden interest just makes matters worse. Is he the answer to her problems, or just a wolf in gentleman’s Armani?
Since his wife was killed twenty-one years ago, Gray’s life has been focused on two things: protecting the pack and avoiding the grown daughter of his wife’s killers. When it becomes clear he can’t do one without compromising the other, Gray finds playing “big bad wolf” to Maizie Hood’s “Little Red” is a role he enjoys far more than he expected.
A real bad wolf’s attack on Maizie changes everything. Gray can’t deny the pull she has on his instincts—and his heart. Suddenly he finds himself taking on a role he never thought he’d want, as her protector and mate. Until the truth about his connection to her nightmarish past comes to light…
Warning: This book contains cookies, pastries, pies, hot-guy-on-girl sex and animalistic passion, all for zero calories. Enjoy!
Alison Paige is the pen name of multi-published author Paige Cuccaro. She writes as Alison Paige when her stories run spicy and as Paige Cuccaro when the fun in the bedroom is subtler. The romance is always key, whether it's between beings of this world or out of this world.
Alison (Paige) lives in Ohio, with her husband, three daughters, three dogs, two cats and two parakeets, in an ever-shrinking house. When she's not writing she can be found doing the mom thing with a book in one hand and a notepad in the other. Ideas come without warning and the best way to stimulate your imagination is to enjoy the imagination of someone else.
I think I won this, and didn't expect it to be erotica/erotic pnr, so maybe my expectations are part of the reason why I disliked this title when I read it; but then, that implies that my expectations of erotic content are lower than those of other types of stories, and that's not really true, so. It was probably just not a good read. *shrugs*
There's lots of sex with minor paranormal elements that never really influence the atmosphere and are underdeveloped in various ways. Example: the hero is an Alpha and doesn't behave likt it at all, instead he's manipulated and undermined by his own Pack, and you gotta worry what that's the case.
Maybe the only reason we had shifters in this was to get the age gap (without vampires) and have some bestiality hints? Who knows. Also, for those who wanna know: mandatory lesbian action, anal, oral, rimming, aforementioned bestiality hints, etc. (There was more sex than story; that's okay for porn-without-plot fanfiction and I suppose also for spank-bank-erotica, but I'm pretending to be a serious reviewer here, and just.. nah.)
In the end, my biggest issue was probably not even my unexpected introduction to rimming, but the fact that a 70+ years old guy and a girl in her mid/late twenties got their groove on. Especially with her being entangled in a lot of his stuff. It might sound weird, coming from me, that I have a problem with this particular May-December relationship, but the fact that he's still in an age rage that exists in human years, regardless of his appearance, makes it creepier than having a millenia old dude digging a thirty year old woman.
I get that Erotica can be just blushy, wicked whateverness, but it's just not enjoyable when the attempt of the in-between-story is written so badly.
I figured this would be a typical billionaire romance with a domineering dude and a sassy gal, but it's really just two people masturbating privately 😴
ALSO he licks her cooch while he's in wolf form ⛔👎🙅♀️ 🤢 kisses OW in front of her, fingers OW in a separate scene, and he says "jeezus" way too much. 🚫
I'm honestly confused by the OW scenes, neither of them want it, they just begrudgingly do it out of some strange obligation
I usually don't rate dnf books but I'm very peeved rn
I am always intrigued by 'grown up' versions of my favorite fairy tales; that being said, this book was really awesome! It was well written, the story was unique and had a great twist on Little Red Riding Hood. It had some great smexy scenes as well as a few LOL moments. I especially liked how the author wrote Maizie's pov after her first change. I have yet to read a werewolf story that has it detailed in the freshly changed wolfs view. I just thought that was pretty cool. I really loved when she was trying to get a good look at her back and chased her tail! Hilarious! Overall, a great read I will be checking out other books from this author!
One of the better romance novels I've read this year, it was solidly written with a decent plot and romance with fairly strong protagonists. Oh, and fun bits. Lots of fun bits. 7/10, would read again.
SPOILERS! Little Red and the Wolf started off great but ended up being very disappointing. I was really enjoying that Alison Paige’s werewolves were much more primal than is often found in the current paranormal genre. And the sex scenes…oh my! But about halfway through the book I began to be turned off by the cluelessness of Maize and Gray’s inability to get over his guilt.
The contradictions were also frustrating…Grey is the Alpha and yet his pack kept manipulating him. One moment the pack is challenging him and then a few chapters later they are one big happy family without any real resolution to the problems. There was no consistency to the nature of the relationships or pack hierarchy.
I think Little Red and the Wolf would have benefited if several elements had been removed and the story was shorter. But I’m not a writer so what do I know other than what I enjoy reading. I’m sure there are other readers who will not be put off by some of the above things but it all added up to making me just not care about the characters enough. I even skipped the last love scene, which was greatly disappointing because I’m sure it was very steamy.

I thought this eread was so entertaining. I like werewolves and enjoy when writers tell parts of the story from the furry perspective. Ms. Paige wrote such cute scenes regarding Little Red's transistion and her encounter with Gray in the woods. The scene where Little Red was in the cottage and Gray kept sniffing up her dress was priceless. I found myself smiling and giggling throughout this book. The dialogue was hot and sweet. The sex scenes were scorching. I've never wanted to watch a guy "fiddle" in a limo so bad in all my life. The length of the book was fine. I read reviews where people thought the book needed to be longer. I disagree. I think the story paced well and closed appropriately. Good read!
All i'm saying is OMG,I'm not much of a reader but this book opened an interest in me i didn't think i had. The way the whole book started caught my interest and it was hard to put down its really really steamy. I mentioned to a friend that if she reads this book she will have to have someone lined up to satisfy the urges that will be awoken in oneself.
I was in need of something fairly light and I was out of harlequins. That said, I did have this erotica lying around from a random thrift store buy. Since I'm still doing Book Battle on Facebook (seriously, if you love reading challenges, check it out) and I needed a werewolf love interest, this sounded the best quick read.
I'm actually a big Little Red Riding Hood fan. I know the stories that may have inspired the original fairy tale and I know what the story could be about in general. And, I do love the idea of an adult little red riding hood with a werewolf. Emphasis on werewolf. I DO NOT condone beastiality. That's nasty.
That said, there were moments when this book made me uncomfortable. There is a scene in the cottage where Maizie Hood meets a wolf face to face. The wolf is . . . lets just say, amorous. This wolf gets a little tongue happy. LUCKILY, it didn't get to places that was seriously disturbing, but it was still a scene that made me a bit uneasy.
The rest of the story wasn't too bad. There was a bunch of sex scenes, which is par to the course. The story itself was decent. Grey Lupo is trying to secure his pack's land and the dynamics of the pack, but is having trouble with. Maizie is trying to secure her grandmother's elderly care and her own financial troubles. These details could have made more meat for the story, but the sex and quasi-instinctual love is what takes center stage.
I mean, I wasn't expecting more than that. So, ultimately, the book was what I was expecting. There were funny scenes and I enjoyed it enough to keep going. On the plus, it was a very quick read.

Alison Paige's latest release Little Red and The Wolf was my first read of an Urban Fairy Tale, but my second read on Alison's. Having read Tame Horses Wild Hearts a few months ago I new that I had found a new author that I could follow and not be disappointed. I enjoy her writing style for one and appreciate her ability to give the reader just enough back story to understand the essence of the characters without overwhelming us to endless flashbacks. I for one am appreciative. In the story of "Little Red" or Maizie she is an independent woman, so much so that she has found herself in quite a financial hole. Maizie has her own bakery business but she struggles to turn a profit when she is so in debt. Trying to keep her Grandmother in a good home, keep her cottage, her business and still have money to feed herself is really starting to weigh on her. Having been raised the last 21 years by her Gran since her parents death she refuses no matter what to sell the cottage or land surrounding it no matter how much the sneaky Anthony Chadwick tries to per se her. In the mist of all her own financial drama Maizie runs into Gray Lupo a.k.a. Gran's Silver Wolf. All her life she has told Maizie some far fetched, haunting and extraordinary stories about the her silver wolf putting a fear into Maize to stick to certain trails and not to venture into the wolf sanctuary neighboring Gran's land. Attracted to the older man Maize feels it in her bones that there is something very dangerous and very secretive going on with Gray. Little does Maize know the truth about the big bad wolf who she has grown up to next door. Gray Lupo is a very powerful man, nearing 76 years old he looks mid forties, those werewolf genes will do wonders for your complexion. Bitten by his wife, a werewolf he has accepted his role as alpha of their pack with a heavy heart at times. Continually his young nephew threatens to challenge him, his sister in law tried to seduce him and now the pack is after Maize. Like Gray didn't have enough on his mind trying to fight his attraction and the magnetic pull towards Maize you can feel Gray's heart breaking inside. He feels that he must avoid her at all costs, after all her parents killed his wife all those years ago and he has avoided what he knows is true in his heart. Maize is his one true mate. What happens next rocks Gray's world, Maize is attacked and bitten by someone in his pack. Maize who I loved from the first few pages has a quite panic about her when she first discovers that she is actually turning. Into a wolf! She can't believe it, but overcome by the painful transitions only leads to her acclimating to her new form.... wolf. A beautiful red wolf who can't stop chasing her tail. Alison really added a brilliant amount of humor in some of the most dramatic of situations as the characters try to work through all their challenges. If Maize thought this was her only problem, she was sadly mistaken. Not only is she a wolf, but Gray is pushing her away and she doesn't know why, only to learn the heard way that he blames her and her parents for the murder of his wife. Not wanting to face the past and truth Gray isn't there for Maize when she needs him most. To make matters worse, Maize believes that someone is trying to pose as her dead father to try and get her Grandmother to sell her cottage and property. Throughout the story you not only are able to make an emotional connection with Gray and Maize but some of the pack as well as Gran. All the character's no matter how small their role add wonderful and entertaining elements of humor and suspense to the storyline. Making for a very captivating and addictive read. Alison Paige has created an indulgent & salacious read that will make you rethink the old take of Little Red Riding Hood. I always knew there was a much deeper story, and the author lured me into a truly magical and paranormal world of shifters that I can truly never get enough of.
Lil' Maize Hood has alot on her plate - running her bakery, supporting her Granny in a nursing home, and trying to stay one step ahead of the bill collectors. Maize has no time for a man in her life but something about Gray Lupo calls to her naughty side. Gray also feels the stirrings of emotion and heat whenever he sees Maize. Whenever he thinks about Maize he literally can't keep his hands off himself which leads to several very hot fantasy scenes, in his limo, in the shower, and while having naughty dreams. Even before these two get their hot little hands on each other they have alot of steamy fantasies about each other. Maize and Gray also have a connection to a very tragic event in their past that keeps them away from each other at first. But as someone starts trying to trick Maize's Granny into selling her cottage and land in the woods, which Granny loves dearly, Maize has more run-ins with Gray. Gray's land and wildlife preserve is next to Granny's cottage and Granny refers to Gray as "her silver wolf". Granny was my favorite character by far, good sense of humor and she had no issues with teasing Maize about her big bad wolf.
While the sexing is hot in this book, the mystery of who is trying to steal Granny's land is frustrating since the details are revealed to the reader but Maize has to figure it out on her own. More often than not she ends up blaming Gray, at one point you just hope she'll give Gray a break and realize who the real bad real estate tycoon is. Maize and Gray also share a tragic event in their past and Gray blames himself and in part blames Maize for his wife's death over 20 years ago when Maize's parents ran into Gray's wife in wolf form. Gray's guilt really holds him back from being alpha to his pack and from being Maize's mate and he feels this guilt for most of the book. I think if he would of realized that it wasn't his fault and manned-up earlier in the book it would have been a more enjoyable read.
After Maize is turned, the scenes written of her first experiences as a werewolf were very well done. The descriptions of the sounds and scents of the wood were very evocative. You get a very primal feel for her wolf (which is red of course) and the "mating dance" of Gray and Maize was very entertaining. Maize wasn't about to submit to Gray's alpha wolf and she made him work at being her mate.
This was a 3 out of 5 stars for me, there was some naughty werewolf action going on but I never felt I really connected with Gray or Maize.
Maizie Hood Struggles to keep her bakery turning a profit, her landlord from evicting her, and her dear Granny in a nursing facility. Now her childhood big-bad-wolf-nightmares are turning into real life adult fantasies. Is sexy businessman Gray Lupo the answer to her problems, or just a wolf in gentleman's Armani?
Who said being eaten by the big bad wolf was a bad thing?
Alison Paige has taken Little Red Riding Hood and given it an erotic and amusing twist. With a strong heroine, a hot older Hero in denial, a spunky Granny, along with a cast of enjoyable characters, Alison really delivers a fun erotic read. The love scenes were steamy, though some may find a few elements of certain scenes not their style.
The fact that the werewolves in this story were much more primal and true to a wolf’s nature was refreshing. However, having said that, I do have to bring to light a couple of cons. One, I think the story could’ve lost a couple of side stories which felt like it slowed the story down. Two, with some of the side stories and elements, there wasn’t a true resolution. Three, Gray Lupo is the Alpha, but the pack/family didn’t really treat him as such. There were times when the manipulation was a bit too much and too brash for the alpha persona Gray was supposed to epitomize.
Overall, I would suggest this story as a weekend erotic read. It was a fresh take on Little Red Riding Hood’s story.
GMTA Rating: 3.5/ 5 Ravens Age Recommendation: 18+
Who’s afraid of The Big Bad Wolf! The Big Bad Wolf! I remember chanting that reading the story of little red riding hood! On her way to Grandma’s! And I am sure you have heard and saw different version of this story, I know I have. This book/ version of LITTLE and THE WOLF by Alison Paige was Phenomenal! Maizie Hood a bakery shop owner trying to turn make her business Profitable so that she can help her lovely Granny who reside in a nursing facility. Maize has a hard Decision to make whether to sell the cottage that she lives and to keep her business and her Granny afloat. So, the last thing she ever had in mind was meeting a very sexy businessman Gray Lupo! And there is just something wolfie about him that Maizie can’t resist! Was it the suit or her wolfie fantasies of Gray Lupo that kept her up at night Gray, on the other hand didn’t want anything to do with having a mate and thought he lost is one true love 20 years ago in a terrible accident. His only objective was protecting his pack and avoiding his wife killer at all cost even if he can’t control his attraction to her. The last thing he ever thought was he would love again. This book hooked me from beginning to end! I wish there a sequel because I wanted more! And as Alsion Paige ask, Who said being eaten by the big bad wolf was a bad thing? I have the answer to that question. Absolutely NOTHING!.
The Divas are giving this book 4 out of 5 Champagne glasses!
I had great expectations from this book and I was completely let down. I found this book by chance and I was intrigued by both cover and blurb. Another Little Red Hood story with a sexy twist. Cool. And it really was, up until half way. Then it started to be less entertaining. Don't misunderstand me, the sex scenes are amazing and they are several, but the story itself is a bit poor. At some point it was a bit confusing, you didn't know if two characters were working together or against each other (although you get to that, eventually). Please don't highlight the hidden text as what I'm about to say is a huge SPOILER: I honestly found pointless Maizie turning into a werewolf. To me it could have been different and it makes the "happily ever after" boring.
I am having a difficult time writing this review. Little Red and the Wolf was a likeable book and sexy as hell! However, I was somewhat irritated by the "in your face" references to the fairy tale. For example, one of the main characters is name Gray Lupo ( the gray wolf)and the Little Red riding hood is actually called "Little Red." I think a little sublety would have been nice. Also, while I enjoy reading about a good ramp in the hay as anyone, the sex was often too in your face at times. The storyline was cute and the characters were interesting. I wish Ms. Paige would have extended the story by about 100 pages to provide a little more detail. I think it would have made the story a great deal better.
I don't usually want to rate something with half stars, but I do with this book. If we had half-stars I'd bump it to 3 1/2 stars. Not quite good enough for 4 stars.
A paranormal romance retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. *g* I'm not sure there is much else to say about it plot wise. Liked the characters, decent plot, just missing some spark, I think.
I think the most exciting scene was when Maizie (aka Little Red) almost got a blow job from the wolf, before she realized he was a werewolf, not a natural wolf. Kinky. *g*
Well.... if the author had just written a contemporary romance this could have been stellar. The repartee was lovely, the characters lively and enjoyable, but the characterisation of the pack went all over the place and while the sex was some of the most titillating I have read, I got some squick factor when the heroine got exited after being interfered with by the wolf form of the hero - before she knew he was a werewolf at that....
I still think the cover is lovely ^^. And would be willing to try a straight contemporary of the author at some point.

An erotic take on Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf in this novel by Ms. Paige. Granny has a cottage in the woods that is at risk between two men that visit her - one very dangerous Mr. Gray Lobo, another pretending to be her dead father, at the center Maizie "Red" Hood. The property sits next to the animal santuary owned by Mr. Lobo, which her parents were killed and his wife in the form as a wolf. As the story unfolds there is no mistake how it turns out - a crazy outplay on the "family pack" but a fast, easy read that holds your attention.
This book started off pretty good but towards the middle it began to take a quick route to trashville. The ending was anti climatic and big let down. I found that I had to force myself to finish the book. The Only good thing was the sex scenes which were pretty steamy but outside of that there was no plot or no real understanding of how the characters felt for one another. All in all this book felt like you're having sex with a hot guy about to achieve the big O and all of a sudden total disappointment and letdown.

A hot retelling of Little Red Riding Hood full of mystery, romance and drama. About as much smut as storyline bt still a good read.I managed to read the story in one sitting. My favorite character would be Gray Lupo (Big Silver Wolf). I didn't like the way the pack interacted with each other didn't come across as pack like more out for them selves.
This wolf, Granny’s big silver wolf, had been a part of her childhood, a character in her bedtime stories. Granny seemed to forget he was make-believe sometimes. - Maizie, Little Red and the Wolf.
Mal. Mal. Mal. Esa es la palabra para este libro. ¡Vamos!

I really enjoyed this book, although there were some discordant details in the plot, these did not take away from the experience, except for one detail that cost the story a star, and that detail is the way how Mazie was converted. Many spicy and passionate moments, the heroine in my opinion is not a Marie Sue, she works very hard to keep her business afloat and to support her and her grandmother all by herself, and the hero, although hi is broken and with a lot of bitterness in his heart, that doesn't make him a serial manwhore. Love the book.
