Entertaining read!
This book #3 was a little above average -- got lost at times because the plotline was sometimes too choppy. Still a recommended series!

I'm enjoying this series by McKnight, but book 2 is still my favorite. This was good don't get me wrong. But the writing and the humor in book 2 is so fantastic that this book was a step down for me. This book definitely has a more paranormal wolfy side, killings, fighting, kidnapping etc., so there is plenty to keep you interested and turning the pages.
I will be reading the next book, and if you have enjoyed the previous books, read this. I would keep them in order though and not recommend them as a standalone.

I just can't get enough of Gill McKnight's werewolf series. The author's unique sense of humor and ability to story-tell continue make a very appealing combination. Ambereye is still my favorite of the three books, but Indigo Moon is another delightful read. I highly recommend it and was excited to see a teaser for a fourth novel coming in this series.

I skipped book 1 of this series due to the reviews. They made it sound like something i didn't like, but i picked up book 2, Ambereye because it was supposedly humorous and much better. I liked it but not as much as other Gill McKnight books i'd read. It seemed too scattered and didn't pull together well for me, with the rushed ending and all. But i really liked this book and am glad i read it.

None of these books are dependent upon the others to be read. This book referred a few times to people we supposedly met in book one, but it didn't hang me up or confuse me that i didn't read book one. It contained people from book 2, but you didn't have to read that at all to enjoy this. Though, with the author's fun and skillful writing, it wouldn't hurt to get all three.

Indigo Moon (this book) didn't have as much humor, but there were still some funny moments. It was primarily a dark mystery. You spend the book trying to get to know who Isabelle really is; what is her past; who is this Ren. I can't even say some of the mysteries you'll be trying to figure out, as they actually develop along the way. You get a couple clues as to what's going on, and suddenly have more questions. It also has much more of the paranormal aspect to it than Ambereye. I'm going to have to go re-read that one, since i'm surprised some people liked that one better. Honestly, i think this one is so nicely written, with all of the ribbons of events tying together, the superb details, and a far better ending, i can't help but consider this the better of the Garoul offerings. It's certainly worth checking out.

4.5 This is my favorite of the series so far. I liked that the character of Ren appears (at least initially) as good and evil. It definitely kept me turning the pages. For me, that's a sign of a great story.

I just could not put this book down. I actually lost sleep because I couldn't stop reading this.

So I will say to compare this to Ambereye itself would be unjust. I think this book is just as good as Ambereye, albeit different. I love, love, loved the detail work regarding the experience of one of the main character's as she adapted to change.

I will say that even though I loved the detail work about the senses of the previously mentioned character, some of the details seemed redundant. Like the internal monologues started to blend together and sounded more like ramblings that go around in circles. So maybe a middle ground in some parts will help.

I also was sad when it ended, feeling like there should have been a bit more. But, I am off to read Silver Collar!

While the first two books are about the Garoul clan, Indigo Moon is all about the outcasts and their wild ways. From the first scene to the last, the author manages to craft a very tense and suspenseful read. The tone is much darker than the second book, with the life and fate of the human protagonist always hanging in the balance.

So, way back I started my reading career (heh) with Urban Fantasy. I devoured them, until I started to see a pattern. I don't mind all kinds of crazy creatures and magic and underworlds and stuff. What increasingly annoyed me more and more was that the intrepid heroine became locked in love-triangles between chest thumping Alpha werewolves and devilishly handsome Vampires. When I found myself shouting at the books: Fuck you, make a choice already, I simply quit the genre.

So the other day I found my old Kobo account, and logged in just for the hell of it, and I found the first two Garoul books there. I started reading Goldenseal (with that god-awful Windows 8 reading app) and while I wasn't really taken with Leone, I immediatly followed up with Ambereye, and hey, werewolves were fun again.

After reading Indigo Moon, I thought: this is what werewolves are about. Cool, caring creatures, innatly bound to nature. No chest thumping and complicated boring pack politics. Just ordinary people who have a gift and are so proud of it. And fiercly loyal to whoever catches their fancy and do whatever it takes to win them over, all in a good way. I loved this one and it had Hope in it, who I very much adored in Ambereye.

I won't bore you with the details on this story; just read it. I think that you if you are reading a story that is a bit predictable and has some minor plotholes and you can't wait to see how it finishes, it's a good book.

Well, not really plotholes. The only thing that had me wondering was that the werewolves can smell something a mile away, yet repeatedly manage to snuck up to other werewolves or are completely ignorant of other wolves nearby, when the story calls for it. But in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really matter.

Book 2 Ambereye is probably everyone's favorite in the Garoul Series. I love it too, it's hilarious and fun to read, but I have to say Book 3 Indigo Moon is by far my favorite one!

In Book 1 Goldenseal, the reader know what's happening, you have a God's perspective, you'd sit there and wait for Amy to find out the secret by herself; in Book 2 Ambereye, will I mean it's a comedy, nothing mystery, so... but in Book 3 Indigo Moon, I honestly have no idea what exactly is going on, you have to stay close with Isabelle hoping to find a clue.

I love a shape-shifter trope; whether it's in movies or books, it's my guilty pleasure(no, not Twilight, no). In Book 3, I felt like I was watching a movie, a suspense thriller with a slow pace and lots of mystery; the cinematography would be like The VVitch(2015) and a little Ginger Snaps(2000) vibes. I wish there's a good lesbian werewolf movie, sadly, there's none, but Indigo Moon had fulfilled my fantasies. I'm more than satisfied.

While the second book is my favorite, Hope is an awesome character. I enjoyed this book second best.

2nd reading: I still enjoy Ambereye the best, but I do enjoy getting to read more about Hope. The beginning was a bit slow for me, but I still enjoyed the book. If you are into the series you will enjoy this one a great deal. Read the books in order they really do hook you from the beginning.

Outstanding!

In the beginning, you have no idea where the story is going. You keep guessing. It kept you on your toes and I could barely put it down. It is one thrilling adventure and mystery. Again, well plotted and excellent written. You can feel the struggle, the determination and the tension was very palpable. Be sure to pick up your copy of all the books in this series. Each one is a winner.

I started this series reading Ambereye first. And I was hooked! (I still have to read the prequel and Bk 1) This book definitely kept me interested in the series. Fast paced and page turning where I read it in a day. 5 stars!

Apparently the author doesn't cease to have great idea for these Garouls clan, I am glad Hope and Jolie had some scenes in this that created a closure for the abrupt ending from the second book. However, this third installment created yet, another abrupt ending.

The atmosphere in this third one is full of dread, doubts, and again, secrets that the main character's love interest (aka Ren) is unwilling to reveal (*ahem* Leone's arc anyone?). The author also did a great job in describing the main character's suffers during her entire infection period.

Another winner from Gill McKnight! After two wonderful novels, Goldenseal and Ambereye, Indigo Moon keeps the series quality high and in my favorites. Once again the tone shifts from the previous book in the series, away from romantic comedy and instead becomes dark romantic mystery.

Isabelle continues McKnight's string of compelling heroines. I really liked her and felt for her. Her situation was so unknowable and she was all alone in it. At least as far as she knew. She had real strength though when she needed it (although a few times her indecisiveness grated). Ren was interesting once again, but we spent less time with her getting to see from her perspective and that keeps her from winning you over as much as Leone and Jolie. One note that may matter to you and may not, there is only one steamy scene in the entire book and I felt it could have used at least one more. I don't personally need sex scenes every few pages like some books in the genre do it, but it is a part of this kind of book I look forward to.

A great continuation and now I'm looking forward to Silver Collar. I really hope McKnight has the next one in the series in the works already, I don't know what I'll do without more of these brilliant books!

Indigo Moon is shelved with Escapes as it is another of my happy diversions from working 3 jobs, that Bold Strokes Books so generously provides. This time, Gill McKnight has left me pondering wordcraft for days.

Her two main characters are Ren and Isabell. The depth of their connection is palpable long before there are any hints of a potential relationship.

My core resonated with the truth of their connection and I keep trying to figure out why.

I read a lot; this was not my first lesbian novel - nope. There have been plenty of tall, dark and handsome women dominating the pages I turn. Why is this one different? I've even read books with similar plot elements (I won't spell out the story for those will want to read for themselves). I don't think it's the story line itself that grabbed me.

The adjectives that come to mind are wordless and unspoken. Yet, this is wordcraft! I'm stumped for now, but duly impressed.

Gill, if you know how you crafted such depth and intensity, please do it again!!

I am so hung up on all of these amazing characters! It's such a delight to meet the characters from the previous books in the Garoul Series and it is even better to be introduced to new and vibrant characters with such strong personalities. Isabella captured my heart from the first instant and let's not talk about Ren, she's beguiling and sexy with her dark and brooding ways. I really appreciate the way the author really delved into the inner workings of being a werewolf and giving more insight into the emotional upheaval a werewolf goes through. I also very in love with the description of the Little Dip landscape and the dialogue between each character flowed seamlessly. After reading this story I am anxious to read the next book in the Garoul Series!

I can't quite let go of this series, can I? After I enjoyed the second one so much I had to try this one.

I have to admit I was kind of disapointed, especially with the first half of the book. It dragged a lot, even though I liked the 'pack' dynamics, but not the dynamics between Isabelle and Ren. Very cliche.

Things picked up in the second half, when the plot line described in the blurb finally started, the blurb had started to feel like false advertising by then. I liked. The hunt in the second part was very fun, and I totally enjoyed all that was going on between the characters.

McKnight really shines in this werewolf series. As a writer, she takes us into the full sensory experience of a wolf and all of the politics that go into the social order of a pack which makes for a fascinating read.

Whereas Ambereye was more of a comedy romance this book returns closer to the first book with some mystery and dark undertones. We see Hope and Godfrey return and are introduced to a new werewolf pack. This can be a standalone book but I recommend reading the first two books, as well.

I enjoyed this 3rd story in the series and recommend reading.

overall the book was good...i think this is my least favorite out of all of the so far-i still have to read the 4th- the starting especially dragged, i kept wanting to skip a few pages forward BUT the middle of the book through to the end more than made up for it.

now that i've read the entire book i can appreciate how it was written. i knew Ren & Issy were going to end up together i just had no idea how the middle of the book was going to play out, thus the 4 starts!

This book definitely cost me some shut eye (my fault for starting it at 8pm). Unlike the previous books in the series, this one was darker and a gore-fest at some level. I felt like I was right there where the bloody mess was.

It tells a story of feral weres and sibling rivalry gone awry. The romance seemed like a sidestory, but a significant one. It's also sort of a prodigal son (daughter) thing, but not quite. So uhm.. 4.75 I guess...

Just keeps getting better

And better. Although the book is steeped in supernatural lore the characters personalities are remarkably very realistic and the story is very well developed that you actually start to consider the truth. The book is very well written and funny in places. The scenery is to die for. Seriously who wouldn't want to live there. A seriously talented author, hey she's made me a believer.

This was really good, a solid entry in the series, but I still think the second is my favourite. I also felt like the description was kind of misleading--all of that does happen, but so does a whole bunch of other stuff that's much more central to the story, and it's not all about Hope and Godfrey bringing someone to safety.

This was the best book of the series so far. It was a fast read and had great characters added to the family. I would almost give it a 4 star rating but its was just missing a little something to give it that edge up. So it is probably a 3.8 stars for me.

Real Rating: 3.75. If you are looking for a romance, best turn around, but if you are looking for a thrilling paranormal fantasy, look no further!! Although if you decide to read this book, disregard the summary, as I think it gives you a poor picture of what to actually expect out of this books.

📝McKnight really has a knack for mystery, and this one was truely entertaining as we navigate around trying to piece the clues of what happened alongside Isabelle. There are a few things that bother me, plotwise, as some scenes seem unnecessary on the bigger scheme of things (Although entertaining to read the about characters in Ambereye at the beginning of the novel) and some scenes shine by their absence in that they prevented me to truely connect with the romantic aspect of Isabelle's story.

🐺 The characters were, in some cases, nincredibly real in their motivations and actions, and some fell a little flat. Feelings and thought processes aside for the main character's are not really fleshed out and ultimately hurt the plot. We really never understand what makes the villians tick and the result was a good vs. evil monochrome when McKnight probably intended the main "bad girl" of this story be anything but unidimentional. Revisiting characters in Ambereye was definitely a plus.

🌐 The world of the Garouls is a bit more fleshed out here than in Ambereye, and I liked that. Not as fleshed out as Goldenseal, but if you decide the skip the first book (as I should probably have), this novel can fill in the blanks. The way the author describes wolven POV is always on point.

I'm reading again the series, oh man, I'm loving The suspense in here ! Now that I read it again I can see different things, the character development is ON POINT, The struggle homegirl Isabella goes through is so painful, the suspense gets you in every chapter, Ren needs to stop being a baby tho'! Hahaha poor girl. Loving to bits the homey scenes with JoliexHope! The start scene in the book is breathtaking! I can feel the desperation and terror Isabella went through. Highly recommend it!
