Oh ho ho! The battle is heating up in Yasmine Galenorn's paranormal 'Otherworld" series with the release of her latest, "Dragon Wytch". This series which relies heavily on Faery lore but also includes demons, dragons, goblins, trolls, vampires, shapeshifters, and also pulls in magic creatures from other cultures is kick ass!! The race to retrieve the third spirit seal is on and Camille the witch will need every one of her allies to come out alive.
This series has some serious sexual tension and flirts wildly with the boundary between mainstream and eroticism. Camille is in a Triad, and now the dragon she nicknamed Smoky is pursuing her for his mate! The fact that he is one of the sexiest creatures in any form she's ever seen isn't helping her decision-making capabilities! After all, wouldn't he be more likely to assist her and her allies if he was her lover? Decisions, decisions...
If you are a fantasy, urban fantasy, or paranormal fan who appreciates detailed worlds, interesting lore, and hot sex...this is definitely a series you should be looking into. This is the 4th book, the previous being, from the top: "Witchling", "Changeling", and "Darkling". The next release "Night Huntress" is scheduled for release in January of 2009...I'll be waiting.
Dragon Wytch is the fourth novel in Yasmine Galenorn's series. The first three helped established her universe, and I expected for the fourth novel to begin exploring the universe in more detail. Instead, it was more of the same.
Dragon Wytch begins with a Crown Prince Unicorn arriving in Seattle to bestow a gift on Camille to help her in her battles against Shadow Wing and his Degath Squads. From there, things spiral out of control when the gift goes missing along with the unicorn's steward Mistletoe. Portals begin to open up thorughout Seattle spitting out all kinds of nasties, and Morgaine returns with her men in tow to complicate the lives of the sisters.
I liked the first three books in this series. I didn't love them. I didn't rank them on my list of novels to buy the very minute that they came out...but they were a nice buy used and I did end up liking the characters...until they grew out of control. None of these books are much over 300 pages in length, so introducing new, recurring characters in each book with the frequency that Ms. Galenorn does can be very confusing for the reader. With months between releases, it's difficult to remember a character that was only present in a modest portion of a previous novel but is mentioned with frequency in all of the subsequent ones. Dragon Wytch alone introduced what I believe to be at least six more characters that will play a recurring role in the series.
One of my other beefs with this series is the formulaic way it is being carried out. They're turning out much like the first season of a lot of science fiction shows with their 'freak of the week' formats. Introduce Shadow Wing's minions and a dozen subplots...spend nearly a quarter of the book on briefings, planning sessions, and roundtable discussions between characters, followed by a conclusions that usually seem rushed and a foreshadowing of the next novel.
Of the three characters, Camille is also my least favorite, which could lie at the root of the reason why I didn't enjoy this particular novel. I think Ms. Galenorn relies a little too heavily on Camille's magical abilities as most authors do when dealing with the magically enabled. Although a lot of her spells do go awry, she also manages to come up with new ones, variations, or a straight shooting spell at just the right moment to save the day. I do give Ms. Galenorn credit for not making her heroines infallible, though, something that I always find greatly annoying.
In short, of the series so far, this has been my least favorite installation. I find myself indifferent towards it. I don't long for the week back that I spent reading it, but I will also not be rereading it any time soon. I do fear that the series may have jumped the shark and might be on a decline. I hope not, because I do like the series. I still wouldn't recommend paying full price for this or any of the previous novels in the series, but I'm also not ready to write them off completely either. My recommendation? If you want to read this novel or a novel in this series, look for a good bargain price and pick a week when you need a diversion that won't keep you up nights with anticipation of what comes next but will give you a vacation from day to day dramas for about 300 pages.
Is it getting hot in here? Oh no - that's just me after reading this book. Having worked her way through all three sisters - the 4th book in the series is full circle back to Camille - the Witchy sister with a LOT of passion and a very complicated life.
The three D'Artigo sisters are living Earthside while the war wages on in the Otherworld. They are part of the Otherworld Intelligence Agency and were stationed Earthside before the war broke out. They are on a mission to capture the 7 Spirit Seals before the evil Shadow Wing gets his hands on them and destroys both our worlds.
While the search for the seal continues - Camille has some interesting personal problems. Having gotten comfortably settled in a Triad with her soul mate Trillian and her fox demon lover Morio she now has the lusty dragon Smokey in the mix. Having promised Smokey a week of the nasty in his love cave in a previous book in exchange for his help - He comes to collect a single night of it from Camille - and reveals his heart to her. Suddently her triad seems to be growing....
Add to this mix Goblins, Bugbear's (I have no idea what a BugBear is - and it's not in the glossery in the back....), unicorns, pixies, elves, and of course humans - and you have a full cast of strange and exotic adventures. And Camille steams up the pages with her love interests - I have to say I had a hard time putting this book down. Heck I even had a dream about it. (Sadly not THAT kind of dream...)
I am anxious for the next book to come out this month!
The tale of the D’Artigo sisters continues as their fight to save the Human World from an influx of demons. Additionally they must make the decision of weather or not to release the Queen of the Unseelie Court form her centuries long stasis. Will her release benefit the world or will she side with the demons.
I really enjoyed reconnecting with this series. i haven't read it in a while. the turns and developments have stoked my fire to find out more in this series. I loved the large cross section of characters in this series. I like the interaction and despite this not being HEA ending for this book, it didn't frustrate like other cliffhanger like books. I think this mix of paranormal characters is very rich and satisfying for me as a reader. you should try this if you haven't ever read any in this series.
I really like how each sister alternates getting to be the main story-line. It keeps it interesting and fresh, and the author maintains the time-line and main events.
I did feel a bit like maybe things were being rushed a bit with her lovers in this book. Each one she commits to someone new and adds to her group. Overall it's fine, but in reality I would think it would take some time.

Review: With Dragon Wytch, we are back to Camille for the first time. And as promised in an earlier review, Galenorn is changing these sisters to be what she wants them to be in the moment. Not necessarily a bad thing, because these sisters start off way low on the totem pole, and they are going up against one of the the strongest beings.
Camille is the leader, the one who is the most capable. She is the one holding them all together. Yet, we find that underneath that strength, she is brittle. The stress is getting to her, and we're only in book four of 21. She relies on her sisters and her lovers just as much as her sisters rely on her, even if her sisters don't realize it. And it is really cute.
Her out of control magic also keeps getting power boosts. It is still out of control, but she is getting tools to make it more powerful, in different ways. She is getting better at death magic, while working with one of her lovers, Morio. And now there is this mystical dark unicorn horn which is supposed to be one of the most powerful bits of magic amplifier artifacts ever, all for Camille the Fuckup to wield. Interesting take.
The quest for the Dragonballs Spirit Seals continues! This time on Otherworld/Sisters of the Moon: We find out a bunch of rogue portals are popping up, causing all sorts of pain. There is something going on over at Smoky's and he is calling in Camille's "Week with the Dragon" marker. Only a whole bunch of other things go wrong, including a visit from «DUNDUNDUN» A UNICORN! He wants to give Camille a magic unicorn horn ONLY SOMEONE STOLE IT! Oh and also there is this war in Otherworld going on in the background we never see, only hear updates from! AND Demons keep showing up!
A busy installment! (Not really, they're all kind of like this.)
It was just okay. As a series it has everything that I want: badass female leads, hot male counterparts, action, mystery... But for some reason it's just not connecting.
This book is told from Camille's perspective. Honestly? I don't think I like her. She's the male fantasy of a witch. Big boobs bursting through her corsets and overly sexualized. Maybe that's why I don't like it? There's a lot of internal dialogue, sex and description/explanation of different realms/worlds, but not a lot of time is spent on the actual action or training of powers. These girls seem to bumble along and get lucky. (No pun intended.)
Galenorn introduced new characters in this book, while neglecting the side characters that were introduced in previous books.
It's not a page-turner. If I start it in the morning and pick it up in the afternoon I've already forgotten what I've read. I'm not emotionally invested in the characters and I don't get lost in the D'Artigo girls' world.
I don't know about these books they have all the elements of paranormal books that I like; kickass chicks, an array of paranormal creatures and crimes to fight but they still are just Meph to me! I don't know if the author is too descriptive or the stories are too long winded? I'm not keep on the fact that no one has a problem with Camille having
So anyway I finished Dragon Wytch (Otherworld / Sisters of the Moon, #4) by Yasmine Galenorn which gets 3*'s as Camille is currently my least favourite sister!
What do I like? well the above points and the paranormal cops I'm hoping the next books will be more cop based! We shall see!
Fourth in the Otherworld / Sisters of the Moon urban fantasy series revolving around the D'Artigo sisters in Seattle.
My Take Certainly no lack of action. We get background on Camille's trial to become a priestess of the Moon Mother as well as the truth about the Black Unicorn. We also learn why Camille and her sisters are so highly valued. Smoky gives up a lot of info and some of his pride. it certainly creates a massive quandary for the adventurous Camille. And Smoky is a very pushy, expectant bastard.
How can the girls be so ignorant as to not be aware of Räksasa abilities? They are so clueless in this battle. Well-meaning, but…
Friends are kidnapped from the house and they don't think to check the ward? The barriers intended to protect anyone on their land??? Explain this, 'cause I sure don't understand, 'cause, Oh sure, with everything going on, my first thought would be wild dogs. Uh-huh...NOT. If they're this stupid, I'm not sure they deserve to win.
Oooh, Chase has a glow of things to come…, oh brother.
They don't keep their focus during battle. No concept of being careful with their power. Always hesitating. I swear...Keystone Kops.
The Story It's disaster all around with Cryptos slinking over to Earthside through newly discovered portals, the crown prince's courier being waylaid, Morgaine has her own plans for the Fae in our world, and Trillian has been captured and is being tortured as we speak.
Camille, Delilah, and Mennolly must find Mistletoe before the bad guys, even as they battle trolls, demons, fae, wanna-be queens, goblins, and the increasingly horny Smoky.
Chase, meanwhile, has his own problems with the loss of his boss, Devin, and the influx of Cryptos. Freedom's Angels raped an elf and Shamas has been sent along with Mercurial, a half-elf/half-Fae, to aid the Portland police.
It's getting crowded with the demons, Morgaine and Titania, and the D'Artigo crew are hunting Benjamin and the Spirit Seal.
And it'll take a lot more than the sisters' current strength to find and rescue Trillian, especially when the Spirit Seal is threatened. It's Smoky's plan on the best way to save Trillian and it's Grandmother Coyote's words that push Camille into her new unwanted alliance.
The Characters Camille D'Artigo is a witch and the oldest D'Artigo sister. She is also bound to the Moon Mother's service even as she is learning death magic from Morio. She runs Indigo Books when she's not saving Earthside. Smoky is a very powerful dragon shifter and he has a claim on Camille for aid he provided and he's not averse to cracking the whip, so to speak. Trillian is Camille's Svartan lover and they are bound together.
Delilah is second and a were-cat with two shapes as well as a Death Maiden to the Autumn Lord. Mennolly is the third sister and was an acrobat in Otherworld and it's this ability that led to her capture and turning by Dredge (see Darkling). Tavah is a full-Fae vampire who works for Mennolly and not at all picky about the blood she drinks.
Their father is a member of the Guard Des 'Estar and probably fighting for Tanaquar. Shamas is their cousin and working for Chase now while living with Morio, a youkai-kitsune, and one of Camille's lovers.
So far, the girls are coping.
Iris is a Finnish house sprite, a Talon-haltijia, and a priestess of Undutar. She's still seeing Bruce O'Shea, a leprechaun. Rozurial is an incubus mercenary who has helped the girls.
Feddrah-Dahns is the crown prince of the Dahns unicorns from the Windwillow Valley. Mistletoe is a pixy aide to Feddrah-Dahns and was tasked with bringing a powerful gift from his master to Camille. Eriskel is a jindasel of the horn, its guardian.
Chase Johnson is an FBH, a full-blooded human, who created the Faerie-Human Crime Scene Investigations (FH-CSI) team---the fae version of CSI---which works with the Otherworld Intelligence Agency (OIA) along with the sisters. Delilah has Chase on a nicotine patch and he's much better about eyeing up Camille. Devin is Chase's boss and looking to hamstring him. His attitude has infected some of the cops and it will only lead to death. Sharah and Mallen are elves who are part of Chase's CIS.
Benjamin Welter is a young man having such visions that his family has incarcerated him at Mountain Aspen Retreat. Grandmother Coyote, a Hag of Fate, is anxious for him and it is believed that he has seen the location of one of the Spirit Seals.
Queen Asteria of the elves is the Fae with whom the sisters are currently allied; she is also entering an alliance with the Cryptozoid Alliance. She has warned the girls that a number of new portals are being discovered, but they don't have the manpower to guard them.
Henry Jeffries is retired and still living with his mother, poor sod. He gladly accepts an offer of employment from Camille. Lindsey Cartridge is rather obnoxious about Feddrah-Dahns' horn in her bid for fertility. She's the director of the Green Goddess Women's Shelter and she's been helping Erin Mathews adjust while producing sales help for Erin's store, the Scarlet Harlot. They've been looking into adoption, but her husband Ron is in a wheelchair.
Morgaine is a half-human, half-Fae ancestress of the D'Artigo sisters. She's back and she's stirring up mischief as she seeks a greater power for herself. Titania is a write-off of the former Seelie Queen, subsumed by drink. She hates the girls for taking away Tam-Lin. Aeval is, was, the Unseelie Queen who disappeared before the Great Divide.
Shadow Wing is a demon lord of the Sub Realms plotting to take over the Earthside by taking over the Spirit Seals. Grandmother Coyote and Pentangle, the Mother of Magic, are Hags of Fate who act to keep the balance. They don't swing towards Good or Evil. Karvanak is a Persian Räksasa demon, aided by a djinn, Jassamin, and Vanzir is a dreamchaser demon who switches sides at the end.
The Great Divide was a battle among the Fae. The divide itself was a measure to prevent demons from taking over, but it has upset the balance and destroyed the Unseelie and Seelie courts. I think Cryptos are inhabitants of Otherworld who are not Fae or elves who can sort of pass for Human. Freedom's Angels are a hate group of ultra-right wingers who take the Guardian Watchdogs' rhetoric several steps further.
The Cover The background for the cover looks like a giant gong with a dragon on it and suspended from a carved stone arch. It's Camille standing in front of it that is the real eye catcher. Legs spread wide in an aggressive stance, hands on hips, and wearing a deep purple velvet skirt slit to her hip with a coordinating silver, black, and purple, very fitted corset-like tank top.
The title is also Camille for she is Smokey's Dragon Wytch. Kinky girl.
2 1/2 Cliffhanger? Not quite. Really it was more transition and nothing answered or completed but definitely more questions added in. I came to the end and said, "what, that's it?" and then started wondering what the story really was. I can honestly say, I don't know.
So what did we get. I can tell you what happened, we see where the world is going and have a big set up for change, this was pretty good. Also we get Camilla's relationships, lots happen there but it is still the same players. One is left in the air as a cliffy, not so much on her devotion to him but what is going to happen to him.
So this starts with demons entering into our realm and starting a fight right in front of the store. Demons are getting access to portals somehow and entering to fight for Shadow Wing. Well, this is just one of many story lines going on in this book (and not answered). Then there is the black unicorn horn and whether Camilla can have it and use it. Now she needs to learn another magic. And there are the queens of fairy/fae/Otherworld and her helping them change the dynamics. Then of course the relationships, mainly solidifying the one with Smoky who she doesn't even trust. Boy, a lot goes on but nothing is totally resolved.
If you really liked Camille in the first, you will probably love this one because it furthers her powers, her place in the fight, and her relationships. I don't particularly like Camille. I think she is a bit self-centered, don't understand her love interests, don't like Trillian, kind of like the fox, Morio, don't like the alpha dragon. So hard to like the book. I do like her sisters. I like her better in her sister's books. :-) I don't want to go into her head and hear her talk about her love life or her witch calling. It is funny because seeing as Yasmine Galenorn calls herself a witch, I bet she relates the best to Camille.
Did I hate the book? Not at all, mostly meh, a little good and a lot dragging with her triad plus. Still it is a necessary book for the series as serious things happen and change the dynamics for the next book. I think I may have liked this better if the other sisters played bigger parts. In their books Camille seems to have a bigger role but in her books they tend to be about her, at least this one did.
5/5 ⭐ Maybe even more action packed then the last. Also Fae Queens. Also WHY THE HELL ARE YOU MARRYING THREE MEN CAMILLE!!! LIKE I GET POLYANDRY AND YOU'RE TRYING TO SAVE THE WORLD BUT DAMN GIRL!!! Also, I really want to binge (listen)? read this series over the weekend.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Camille D’Artigo is the protagonist in this book, facing the every growing and worrying effects of the war against Shadow Wing and the civil war in Otherworld – a war that is now affecting their family as well as bringing chaos to the Otherworld, allowing all kinds of monsters to break through the portals and wreak havoc on an unsuspecting Earth.
Now she has a unicorn gifting her with an artefact of legend of immense power that may be one of their best hopes against Shadow Wing – except it’s been lost and it’ll work just as well for their enemies as against them.
And there’s a new spirit seal to find – and this one is being hunted by a lethal and cunning Rakshasa, far more dangerous than any of the other demons they have had to face. Added to that, Morgaine is back and the ancient, power-hungry sorceress has her own plans involving Titania, the long defunct Seelie queen
To complicate all of that – Smokey, the ancient and mighty dragon, is demanding her attention as well, as per their agreement. But Smokey wants into her heart and not just her bed – which is difficult with her current lovers to take into account.
My only major complaint with this book – in fact the series in general, is its poor pacing and the easily distracted protagonists. I think this book is especially bad for it. There’s one moment in particular that stands out. They are trying to find the Pixie with the Black Unicorn’s horn before anyone else, since this is an artefact with massive, incredible power. It simply cannot fall into the wrong hands. Menolly, after working at the bar, gets a lead on the horn (and it turns out to be true) so she goes home and…
… watches Jerry Springer with Delilah, waiting for Camille to get up rather than waking her. When she does get up (early because something else entirely interrupts her) she, Delilah and Menolly start weeding the garden. No, really – the horn could right now be heading into demon hands but they’re doing some gardening. Then they have breakfast. Then Iris regales them with a tale from when she was a House Sprite in Finland. Then Camille potty trains their pet gargoyle. And I am sat there reading this book and restraining the urge to yell at it because the world is supposed to be on the brink of collapse, demons are supposed to be invading, civil war is breaking out in Otherland, the world is in Serious Peril so some urgency may be required.
An additional problem with that is it makes me less happy with the variety of plots. We have a lot of different threads in this book – we have the Rakshasa and his minions looking for the spirit seal, we have the Unicorn and the horn, we have the problem of the Cryptos and the unguarded portals, we have Morgaine and Titania, we have Camille with Smokey as well as big insights into Camille’s past. All of these plot lines add to the overall story and are wonderful threads of the plot that really go together well. And individually I like each one. They really add to the richness of the world and the much greater sense of the coming battle – but because the pacing is already slowed down by random domesticity it makes me less patient with anything that might stop the main plot line actually moving forwards.
The fourth in the Sisters of the Moon series, "Dragon Wytch" continues the alternating narrative viewpoint by cycling around to the eldest sister again, Camille. I always felt that Camille's first novel, "Witchling", was arguably the weakest of the first three books in the series, and I'm afraid that "Dragon Wytch" does nothing to change my opinion on that front.
In fairness to Camille, she has always been the least easy of the three sisters to take seriously - her narrative focuses heavily on her "boobs" and "butt", as she likes to talk about physical characteristics frequently, along with her "fetish shop" wardrobe. Factor in her willing harem of men, all of whom are completely devoted to her and put up only the most token protests to her every whim, and we have a character that is just a touch too close to wish fulfillment to take seriously.
Where the first three books focused heavily on the search for the spirit seals, with a heavy emphasis on character development along the way, "Dragon Wytch" now focuses almost primarily on Camille's relationship dynamics with Smoky, per the indentured servitude she promised him in "Changeling". This aspect is largely unsatisfying - although Galenorn does a good job setting up Smoky as an extremely undesirable lover via clear and compelling examples of mental abuse and vastly different power dynamics within a relationship, in the last half she abruptly abandons the thread with love magically conquering all and Smoky quickly signing up to be just another member of Camille's growing entourage. Readers will be forgiven if they don't accept this turn of events with the same enthusiasm as Camille.
When a spirit seal is thrown in at the end, it serves largely as a vehicle to compel Camille to do something world-altering and potentially very dangerous in order to set up conflict for the next book. This is especially frustrating, because this is now the second book in a row where the main characters only act as they do because the Hags of Fate have flat-out told them to. In "Darkling", the readers will remember, this was the main reason Menolly uncharacteristically extended an offer to Erin, so to see the same But Thou Must behavior all over again starts to feel like Galenorn can't think of a better way to motivate the characters to do what she needs them to do.
Having said all that, "Dragon Wytch" is a solid addition to the series, and if you've stuck with it this far, I recommend that you keep going. The flaws that come through in the reader are mostly minor, and seem less a failure of the author than your basic "middle-of-the-series" problems - all the characters are in a state of flux and growth, and the series is trying to set up for the big finale, so it makes sense that the narrative would lag at times or feel a little contrived. If I've been hard on the novel here, it is not because it's a bad book, but because the series is otherwise so excellent escapist fantasy.
This is the one book in the series thus far that I was really looking forward to and it didn't disappoint. The series has gone full circle and this book starts back over with Camille who just happens to be my favorite of the D'Artigo sisters.
Camille is now in a triad with her men, Trillian, the Svartan looked down upon by most of the fae and Morio, a Japanese Fox Demon. Camille doesn't do vanilla and is attracted to dangerous men/creatures. That being said, her love life just seems to get more-and-more complicated. In prior books, Camille was bound to a week long contract of debauchery with Smoky the dragon in exchange for his help. I was sooooo afraid that the scene would play out in one of the other sister's books and I wouldn't get to read the details. Though it was just one night instead of the full week, the intimate scene between Camille and Smoky was everything I hoped it would be. Smoking hot!!! Plus you get to see an entirely different side of the dragon. Not only is is incredibly gorgeous, he is loving in a way dragon's aren't supposed to be and has major skills. I never thought hair could be so sexy!
We also got to meet a unicorn in this book which I thought would be super cheesy but wasn't. The storyline was well written and I actually liked him. Due to a precious and rare gift given to Camille by the unicorn we got to go back in time and see her go through her coronation with the Moon Mother. That helped to understand her power a little better and that it was predicted that she would be very powerful someday.
I also enjoyed that for once the sisters didn't necessarily end up on top and that the storyline with the demon and third spirit seal will roll over into the next book. Now I have to get through the next two books (not that I'm complaining cause I like the other sisters as well) so that I came get back to Camille and her harem of men. Can't wait to see Trillian's reaction to the arrangement between Camille, Morio and Smoky. Loved it!!!
They are the D'Artigo sisters and they are operatives who work for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. They are also beings that are half-human and half-Fae and they are in possession of special but unique talents: Delilah is a shifter, a tabby cat, Menolly's an undead vampire, and Camille, is a good witch. All are struggling, involved deeply in a demon war. Cryptos comes creeping through newly discovered doorways to Earth; and Morgaine has her own plans for the Fae's that live in our world. Trillian has been captured. Delilah and Mennolly must locate the lost Mistletoe. All of them battle fearsome foes such as most evil demons, fae, bitch queens, goblins, and even a horny Smoky, a very lusty dragon....! Freedom's Angels have raped an elf. Oi yaaa, what are fae operatives to do??! The girls hunt for Benjamin's location & the Seal & seek a way to rescue Trillian. It's Smoky's plan on the best way to save Trillian. It is Grandmother Coyote's words that shoves Camille into her new unwanted alliance. Adventure and passion ensue! A truly unique story coming from Yasmine and the Otherworld women; a crown prince unicorn, goblins, trolls, and a wicked sexy dragon...?! My kinda book! Galenorn has written about all three of the sisters in previous novels, and now with this, the fourth Sisters of the Moon novel, she returns to Camille. She always writes a page turning fast paced book. It is familiar to me to come back to this fully fleshed out world, full of fae, paranormal, supernatural, and romance; all my faves and makes for a full course meal. Tuck in, and eat up! Even the cover is a feast for the eyes, very rich visuals. Four and a half stars!
Dragon Wytch is the fourth novel in Yasmine Galenorn's series. Each book is told by a different D'Artigo sister; Camille, Mennolly and Delilah.
The sisters are half fae and half human who also work for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. They are in a fight for their lives against a demon called Shadow Wing.
They each has different capabilities like Camille the witch who spells seem to always go wrong at the most inopportune times. Delilah who shape shifts into a tabby cat whenever she stresses out. Menolly is a vampire who is by far my favorite character.
I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I dislike Camille and therefore this book really grated on me. When the book starts she is part of a so called Triad. Then, of course, the Dragon comes calling and she immediately falls head over heels in love with him.
She ends up with three men, and then, she is bound to two of them. I want to read more about the other sisters Delilah and Menolly instead and therefore will most likely skip over any book that features Camille.
I'm still on the fence about this series. There is so much going for it. It has great potential in the overarching story and the cast of characters is promising as well. But I keep waiting for the quality of the writing to get better as the series goes on, but no luck yet. I like how the books go between the three sisters, giving each a chance at the spotlight. The downside to this is that the other two sisters suddenly look like idiots that can't think for themselves when its not "their" book.
I got books 4-6 from the library to give the series a second chance (after reading something by the author in an anthology and noting the improvement in her writing). If things don't start looking up after book 6, then I will just have to give up hope for this series altogether.
...let's start by saying...that inwant to shake all of you...who gave this book anything less than 4 or 5 stars...ooooh yes I do!!! This book is amazing from start to finish...
I can understand if your favorite of the three sisters is not Camille...but please...this book has everything a lover of Sci-Fi...Romance...etc...could ever desire!!!
I am going to write a much better review...so that anyone reading it...will go and pick it up and read it!!! I just need to begin the fifth book in the series...I am totally into reading the entire series....ooooooooh yeah!!!
meh. More paranormal porn, from what I can tell. "Charmed" meets Patricia Briggs, with none of the writing that makes you care to find out what happens. There's supposed to be humor in this, but all I see is smart-ass. Tough female protagonists aside, it's not my cuppa.
