Rate this book
Something has gone terribly wrong. Mel and his friends have been locked in Deep Trouble prison in the Mirrorscape, while their evil Mirrorshades - who look exactly like them - are free to cause havoc in Vlam. Luckily, their old friends Goldie and Pilfer - the invisible burglar - are on hand to help them break out and try to prove their innocence. But arson, forgery and theft are the least of what their doubles have been up to. They're involved in a plot that could destroy our heroes. The race to find the mysterious Mirrortree is on! Can the real Mel, Ludo and Wren defeat their enemies in time? The third funny, past-paced adventure in the fantastical world of the Mirrorscape.

Book three of this imaginative romp in the world of the Mirrorscape. Mel and Co are captured and placed inside Mirroscape's prison 'Deep Trouble', and meanwhile their doppelgängers run riot in the real world.

When I first started the first book of this series I thought it would head in a different direction. I would have liked that other direction too, and that could colour my impressions of the rest of the series, but as long as you think of it as a spectacular, imaginative and somewhat tongue in cheek romp for older children, then you won't be disappointed.

This trilogy deserves so much more recognition than it gets, especially since it is so unbelievably creative and every book just kept getting better and better as the series progressed. This third and final book in the series was absolutely fantastic, tying up its loose ends and leaving me absolutely satisfied with the ending. If you're looking for a new fantasy series to read, I would definitely suggest giving this one a try!
