This is an excellent book providing an in depth primer into the world of Theatre backstage. John Kaluta does a great job of presenting the information without getting too bogged down in the details. He put in the details that needed to be there, but he left out the more advanced details that would just confuse the beginner. This book taught me many things that I have always wanted to learn about regarding the theatre, but have not gotten around to. This book is an excellent resource for any one who works backstage at a theatre. This will be my GI to book as questions and problems come up.
I very much loved the perfect stage crew. As a fairly amateur techie, it was very helpful for me. It laid out and covered all sorts of problems you're likely to expect in a theatre, such as: -Broken Lights -Bad Audio -Pissy Directors -Tools
It was great and informative, as well as funny and ironic. Will recommend to every tech theatre geek. Much Love, Kristen
