A fun lift-the-flap Halloween book for kids from the Berenstain Bears! Join the Berenstain Bears on this lift-the-flap adventure with a twist. Gracie the kitten has gone missing. Stan and Jan Berenstain (often called The Berenstains) were American writers and illustrators best known for creating the children's book series the Berenstain Bears. Their son Mike Berenstain joined them as a creative team in the late 1980s.
I'm glad that Brother and Sister Bear are concerned about their cat, but let's talk about the fact that they wander into someone's home and snoop around thinking the house is empty. Who is Missus Grizzus? Should someone be concerned with her welfare? Wouldn't she be terrified that two kids just walked right into her house?
This is a great book to read during Halloween to show the little ones that there's nothing to be afraid of behind every crook and cranny. Young minds can conjure spooky imaginings in dark and spooky places but it's all in their imagination.
Kids that like lifting flaps to see what's behind should like this a lot, but it doesn't have the same feel as the older books, and that is kind of sad for me.
Brother and Sister Bear must enter the haunted house on Spook Hill to locate their kitten, Gracie. This flip book is full of surprises for the two siblings as they search for their lost pet.
The Berenstain Bears and the Haunted House by Jan and Stan Berenstain is a story about Brother Bear and Sister Bear exploring a haunted house. They are in the house because they are looking for their cat, Gracie. Is she hiding somewhere in the house? Brother and Sister Bear look through doors, windows, behind curtains and all around to see if Gracie is there.
Natalie is a big Papa Bear fan, so I got this out for her out of the limited selection left for Halloween books. We only read it once since it was so long. Fun for older kids who can follow the story enough to enjoy the flaps more.
Why is no one in bear country concerned that an elderly lady is living in a home that should be condemned?!? Broken windows, shutters falling off and it's infested with vermin. Otherwise, a cute Halloween story.
37 months - lift the flap book. Kids always seem to enjoy these but I find them quite dull. Open this to see, look inside to find... Can't anyone write better dialogue that incorporates flaps?
