Manhattan reporter Kay Freemont spends her days writing about sex -- and her nights wondering what all the hype is about. So when sexy, single Quinn Scofield places an advertisement in her magazine for a wife, Kay decides it's way past time she found out!
Although Kay knows she's too repressed to live out her most forbidden fantasies, under Quinn's imaginative tutelage she becomes more in tune with her own sensuality. This city girl thinks she has time for only a red-hot fling -- unless Quinn has his way, and she accepts his offer of a lifetime of incredible sex!
Lori Wilde can’t remember a time when she didn’t want to write. She even went to nursing school so she could have a schedule flexible enough to allow her to write on the side. She nursed for 20 years, working in a variety of settings from the newborn nursery to the recovery room, to dialysis. But she never lost her desire to write.
She sold her first book in 1994 to Silhouette Romance but later discovered she had a flair for comedy and branched out to Harlequin Duets and now, to Blaze.
Lori is an adventuresome soul who loves to travel. She’s taken flying lessons, completed two marathons, rode in a hot-air balloon, performed with a professional jazz band, traveled Europe as a teenager, hiked volcanoes in Hawaii, trod on glaciers in Alaska, shot white-water rapids, water-skied, snow-skied, raced all-terrain vehicles, bodysurfed in the Gulf of Mexico, and photographed grizzly bears in Yellowstone.
She lives in her native Texas, with her own real-life hero, Bill.
THIS WAS SO GOOD OH MY GOD???!! the storyline keeps getting creative and gut wrenching. I bought this for only 10.000 RP/ 0,62 USD and i didn't expect much but OH MY GOODNESS QUINN SCOFIELD, THE MAN YOU ARE. he's such a man of his words, also a man who always prefers to act and not just saying bullshit. He's so masculine and the masculinity itself has me hooked. Suddenly i have this feminine urge to have his children because of his family oriented trait. He's such a provider man!!! 🥺🤍 the way he's so soft towards Kay Freemont, the way he caresses her with such gentleness WHILE BEING THE MOST MASCULINE MAN IN BEAR CREEK IS DIZZYING. I can't i want this kind of man to be my future husband guys I NEED MY OWN QUINN SCOFIELD. He's so big and strong, a man of Alaska, yet he's so gentle and loving, thoughtful and a romantic at heart I MIGHT EXPLODE AAAAHHHHH AND HE'S SO CONSIDERATE HE WON'T DO ANYTHING WITHOUT KAY'S CONSENT 😭 being a man with such emotional intelligence is the sexiest thing, Quinn. I swear to God you're such a charming 32 year old fictional man
Manhattaner, Kay Freemont, has always done exactly what her parents wanted her to do, down to getting engaged to the man her parents think she should marry, despite any lack of passion in their relationship. She's appalled when her magazine editor boss assigns her to follow up on a story in Alaska - about 5 gorgeous Alaskan guys looking for wives. Even more appalling is that Quinn Scofield was on her most recent flight to New York and there were sparks. She finally breaks up with the jerk and goes to Alaska despite her misgivings. She and Quinn have some amazing chemistry, but she has some hangups to there's two weeks of foreplay before they finally have sex. Then it's time for her to go home, despite whatever feelings have been going on between them. Eventually, they figure out they should be together and work it out.
I'd read this one as part of a 2 books in one volume--knowing it's from the Blaze series now does say a lot--it has a lot of "blazing" scenes. Most of the book is, with much less story. Sometimes you need a steamy little story...I'd chosen to read it because the cover painted it as a sweet love story to Alaska (note--the cover doesn't match the one listed here, but I'm not using that version for my rating because I want to count this as 2 books...because there's another one I'll be reading later). I was considering applying for a job in Alaska, but though 2 people from my high school class moved from our snowy hometown to there, that doesn't mean I could. I think it would be too far away from family and too isolated.
I found myself skimming a lot looking for something interesting. Also the guy started to irritate me after a bit. It's great to have standards and stick to them regardless of peer pressure but you can also just be pushy and obnoxious. It was the hockey game that really got me. Arguing with the ref a bout a call is not unprecedented but to continue to argue until you get kicked out of the game is just belligerent it's not upholding your beliefs. If you play any sport you know that refs don't always make good calls you make your opinion known and then you put on your big boy panties and suck it up if it's not in your favour. You don't then throw your helmet on the ice as you go off to sulk. Getting ejected from the game over a disagreement in the call is not upholding your integrity. I'm sure the author was attempting to make the contrast between him and the heroine who has allowed herself to be pressured into always doing what's expected because of her social status but there is a big gap between the two examples. really hard for me to get on board with him after this.
No plot, no character development, no chemistry, nothing whatsoever Kay came to Alaska to write article about the four Bear Creek bachelors looking for wives but when she got there, she only interested in one thing, Quinn, one of the bachelors. She didn't even write her article, barely talked to the other bachelors and then we were told this was love that made Kay wanted to stay in Bear Creek forever and be Quinn's wife, despite the cold and remote place Sorry, but I didn't buy it
Bacaan yang lumayan. Dan sejujurnya membuat saya penasaran bagaimana rasanya tinggal di Alaska yang dingin sepanjang waktu, sepi namun udaranya segar dan dimana orang2nya saling mengenal satu sama lain.
I wanted to pass some time, so I picked a random ebook that I had. I finished this in a few hours. This was such a quick read but that was because I skipping a lot trying to get to something interesting. I thought Quinn was putting a lot of his lust into this love and all because he just wanted to protect Kay. Nothing really about who she was, but just his urge to 'protect' her. From what? The moose?
It's suppose to be a fluff story, so I expected to not gain a lot, but I was more interested in Meggie or the other bachelors rather than learning about Quinn. He seemed slightly daft. And there was nothing compelling about Kay. Some scenes were good, but the ending just didn't do it for me and that affects everything.
Okay this was better than #2 and 3 (which I accidentally read first.) It had steamier hotter sex scenes and was a full novel, not a novella. Not a requirement, but it just lets you peek into the lives and characters more, not to mention building the anticipation! Plus, the man is smoky dreamy in this one!
There was just too much corny dialog. This is the second time I've read it and I know why I didn't remember alot. I found myself rolling my eyes, a lot. the reason I gave it 2 stars was because I really enjoyed the setting. I could see the snow and feel and smell it. There was a comfortable feeling in the description of Bear Creek, enough that I'd like to visit!
