I read this in one day--not difficult, considering it's a play and it's only 70 pages. (Again, we will be reading this play with my ESL class.) Even though it's super formulaic for a romantic comedy, I quite liked it; I'm looking forward to watching the movie adaptation soon.
A great romantic comedy. The innocence of the first meeting & the courtship. Very sweet. I got to direct this Feb 2010 just in time for Valentine's Day :).
I didn't love this play, but it does have sentimental value for me. Bubbie pretty much makes the play, the rest would have to be cast very carefully to make it worthwhile.
Sweet story with a not quite believable turnaround in emotions. Script with two Yiddish-heavy-speaking older women might not be the best choice for Southern audiences.
