Adarshan and the Castoria Empire have been waging war against each other, but it is only a matter of time before Adarshan falls. In order to tie an alliance between the two countries, the king of Adarshan forces his brother, Alexid Deke Adars, into a political marriage with Castoria's sixth imperial princess, Justinia. He is unwilling from the beginning, and shocked when he later discovers that his bride-to-be is only 10 years old! And when the two finally meet, Justinia makes it clear that she hates his guts.
For the sake of upholding a peace agreement, the poor prince Alexid is forced to marry the sixth imperial princess of Kastoria, Justinia. Which was fine, really, if it weren't for the fact that she was ten years old! But he has no choice, since not agreeing to it would be the same as putting the two opposing kingdoms into war so he resigned himself to his fate.
On the day of their first meeting, Alexid went to the garden to relax. There, he finds Justinia hanging in a tree branch, asking for help. He quickly saved her and found her smile to be rather cute. He then looked forward to being formally introduced to her. But upon finding out his real identity, Justinia attacked him with a knife! What kind of grudge does she have on Alexid?
It was the art that really pulled me in here. The cover was quite nice to look at so after checking the back if the plot was any good (it was okay) I decided to buy this.
Well, Adarushan no Hanayome started out as a love story then turned into a political one before reverting back into a love story. I didn't mind the drastic changes because Alexid's life story was being played out here. But I did miss the cute Justinia in those times she wasn't mentioned at all. I was kind of disappointed that this manga had ended at the second volume. I feel like it's too short and would have been better if it was extended just a little. Still, it's a pretty good manga to read if you're into historical romance.
If you're extremely sensitive about age gaps, DO NOT READ THIS MANGA. The male lead is 20 years old and his bride is 10 years old. Pedo? Sure, kinda, but they're not really doing anything romantic or sexual. They're more like bestfriends or siblings. It's actually pretty cute and innocent!
