Cannon
James Gunn better known as Cannon has newly started his gardening business , his only mistake is having Hugh MacLean as a partner, not knowing that Hugh(Shug) has stolen from those same homes, until questioned by the police.
But worse is to follow when two henchmen of Jack Cooper the local gangster calls asking Cannon about his partner's whereabouts and the 50K stolen from him. Fortunately Cannon escapes what they have in store for him to make his way to the Highlands where he meets Auntie Eden Stewart who besides owning most of Strathconnan also ownes the local bookshop where she offers him a job beside her niece Fiona. Cannon accepts not knowing Auntie's motive is to use him as baitl to push Fiona into marriage with local fisherman Peter Fraser.
Meanwhile Cooper targets Cannon's mother and Shug's sister into betraying where they are, only to find neither know their whereabouts. Further interrogations lead to the killing of Shug's girlfriend who inadvertantly discloses where both men are hiding.
Soon Jack Cooper who with the help of a now jealous Peter Fraser is on their trail and when caught, the intended cruel way he has for killing them and regaining his money.
