This is a great children’s book. It has clear, colorful and emotional illustrations. Fun rhyming with easier words for new readers to catch while hearing the story. The story is also not just about another cactus who is too pokey to hug. It goes another step further with changing oneself to how you think your friends will like you better. Staying your true self is the best you for everyone. Just like other good kid’s books, the comical ending is enjoyable for all!
A favorite in my kindergarten classroom and with my own children! I love to gift this book - this sweet story has a wonderful message, engaging text, and fun illustrations. Patiently waiting for more from Sean!
This story blends both a creative flair for words and striking visuals that is engaging for all ages. The clever wordplay helps express a message of friendship and self-respect that resonates and is important for young people to hear; that they should appreciate their quirks and unique qualities. A great debut! I can’t wait to see what Mr. Fournier does next!
What a great book. It teaches us how being ourselves is the best thing we can be. Even though we want to be something else for others, we should never change our best qualities.
