A weekend away in a stylish caravan provides the perfect antidote to 21st-century living, and more and more people are now breathing fresh "retro" vibes into the humble recreational vehicle. Old-style campers also tap into the nostalgia/retro market and the desire for a simpler lifestyle. My Cool Caravan aims to inspire a new generation of camper owners and provide an idiosyncratic sourcebook for the design conscious. The inspiration for the styling can come from many different sources—this book looks at 30 styled campers in detail, covering themes such as Country Cottage, Rustic, Romany, Funky 1970s, Airstream, Trailer Park Treasures, and Recycled.
The caravans featured in this book are stark, sweet and inspiring. Be forewarned; if you read this book, you'll covet these tiny mansions, and then, you'll likely fantasize about drastically downsizing and slipping away into a diminutive dwelling of your own.
It was no surprise to me that I loved this book. I liked reading the stories about how the different owners had come across their various caravans and what they'd done with them, but most of all I just love that it's full of photos so you can admire the stunning, sleek old designs of the caravans themselves and the wonderful vintage interiors that their owners have re-done.
The caravans/campers in this book are perfect and adorable. I love how many of the owners have tried to maintain period decor in these vintage caravans. Interior design books usually disappoint me, but this book was just long enough (concise - I guess because the subject matter is also physically brief), and has such great photographs.
A beautiful book about Caravans or as we would say in America, trailer homes. There was a lot of reading in this book, but I pretty much just flipped through to look at all the pictures. Love the vintage decor and the cute traveling homes.
Some nice photos....most of these are caravans in use as offices, guest bedrooms, playhouses, etc, some are in use for holidays. Only two were lived in on a permanent basis, which since that's what I really wanted to see, a few photos of those wasn't enough for me.
