If you are considering this book, please know that this is NOT an original book, nor was the 1997 movie starring Ethan Hawke based on this book. This is some knockoff aggregation of web-sourced bits and not an actual work of fiction.

Watched the movie instead of the book. The book does not seem to be written well nor does it seem to be famous! The movie was very well directed. It is a classic example of Dystopian Science Fiction. I would recommend the movie to anyone who is interested in such a genre.
