I mean, it's the kind of book you buy your college freshman in hopes that they'll eat something other than pop tarts and ramen for four straight years. It might be helpful for those who are truly out of their depth in kitchen but want to learn the bare basics, but for most others it's basic to the point of being pretty useless. Again, great if you need that additional hand hold, but for most these are things you already know or could figure out without an entire book. The pricing is also hopelessly outdated. I wish you could get ground chuck and the fixings for $0.98 per serving but, alas, no dice.

No way can you actually cook those recipes for those prices - maybe if you buy in bulk in bulk and break the cost down you can get it for that price but you cannot buy all those ingredients for that price. You have to buy $15 worth of ingredients in order to make the $2 meal!

There was some good recipes in here, but also some really weird ones. I liked that it had the nutrition information. The prices were wildly inaccurate though.

Title is misleading. $1.76 for 2lbs of chicken? In what state!
