This is an exceptional and concise commentary set. Boice condenses the chapters into chief points and is very pastoral and evangelical in his approach. Occasionally he'll omit a larger theme or device when analyzing a pericope or segment, but does so in order to condense and meet his goals of being helpful and concise. It is not a technical commentary, but a warm commentary suitable for simply reading along as a study guide. Very helpful to pastors, but easily recommended as a personal bible study as well. Boice pulls from many other commentaries, usually the same ones I used alongside Boice, so it was often nice to see we highlighted the same passages in other works.

Favorite commentator. I mark these books all up and write notes in the margins of my PageMaker Bible. I missed a lot of the chapters because I didn't have the time. Maybe someday
