I grew up on a small farm on the outskirts of Sydney and as a keen horse rider, often competed in local gymkhanas and even broke in a few horses from time to time. As I was surrounded by animals, I decided at an early age to become a nurse, however I couldn’t stand the sight of blood and so opted for a career in teaching. It’s a bit ironic that I married a surgeon.

I read my first Mills & Boon novel when I was 17 and that encouraged me to continue reading romance novels; the lure of the tall dark handsome hero, who in reality I fell in love with and knew I was going to marry on our second date! After marrying a year later, we moved to Scotland with our six week old baby so my husband could work and study for his MD in surgery. After the birth of our second son we came back to Australia to settle in Tasmania.

I went back to University and up-graded my teaching diploma to a degree and then went on to do a Masters but still I felt as if something was missing. I sat down one day and began writing and everything clicked into place - I had finally found ‘my brilliant career’! I used to write from instinct rather than a specific plan, but now, so many books later I find a loose plan doesn't go astray. An idea will pop into my head, sometimes it will be just a simple phrase or a what if question and I'm away.

Writing is a skill that can be learned and the best way to learn it is to read and to write. So many people feel they have a novel in them and very probably they are right-the only trick is to get it out. My advice to ‘would be’ writers is to write, write, and write even more. Carry a notebook at all times and jot down ideas. And like any other activity the more you do, the more it feels comfortable.

I hope you enjoy my stories and look forward to hearing from you.

I enjoyed this amnesia second chance story, but I'm only going to give it 3.5 stars because I think I'll forget it soon. Not because it's bad - but because it is a gentle story with generally sensible characters.

So the plot: The heroine was in a car accident in London, which killed her (guy) friend who was driving. When she wakes up from her coma she doesn’t remember the hero, her husband, or why she was in England and not in Spain where they lived.

The tabloids are speculating that she was running away with a lover, but the heroine can’t believe she would ever commit adultery. She also can’t believe she spent all of her time at the gym, shopping, and getting manicures. Everyone in the hero’s life seems to dislike her – even the hero. Although he is open about his physical attraction to her.

When the hero’s half-sister shows up and tells her that the hero never loved her and only married her to inherit from his father’s will, the heroine begins to remember why she acted the way she acted. She had loved the hero from the beginning and only found out later about the will. At the same time she saw a photo of him with a woman in Russia where he was on business. They had a big fight and she fled to England thinking she could never get him to love her after two years.

She had tried to be the perfect trophy wife and not show her emotions, but she’s done pretending now. And that’s what makes this story a little different. Now that her memory is back, she is up front with the hero about how she feels and what mistakes she made. The hero still isn’t sure if they should divorce since he’s afraid to love. (And no, he didn't cheat. He was doing some big merger in Russia and the tabloids made stuff up.)

Then the heroine discovers she’s pregnant. Hero is not thrilled. Heroine has a miscarriage and thinks it’s really all over now. Hero tracks her down in Australia. He realizes he loves her and he feels guilty about his first reaction to the baby.

This isn’t heavy on the angst. I liked the heroine. I even liked the hero once he started having sex again. He wasn’t as moody. :)

It was an okay read,Javier-Emelia marriage was a MOC,Emelia loved Javier a lot but she never said anything cause she knew Javier did'nt believed in emotion love and he did'nt want any children, she tried very much but she was so unhappy and then with pics of Javier with that Russian singer blew the fight out of proposion,Emelia left Javier but she meets with an accident and forgots 2 years of her life which is her husband Javier and their marriage

Now Emelia is so shocked when he starts recalling past as to how can she compromise in life, she always wanted to get married for love and here she agreed to terms of Javier's and accepted the MOC,now she confesses all her love for Javier and says she only wants to be loved but Javier is adamant and he was very happy with their marriage as it was before accident

after accident how these two keep fighting their emotions and Emelia's fight to gain her husband's love, but for that they have to get pass through all the hurdles, but eventually after losing the baby and Emelia Javier comes to his senses and he confesses his love for Emelia and asks for second chance and they get their HEA

I was not convinced with the HEA cause still many issues were left unsolved like that pic with Russian singer, for me it seemed Javier all of a sudden fell in love and confesses his love, never felt after accident he started falling for Emelia, the ending was rushed i wanted Javier to Grovel for way he hurted Emelia but i was left disappointed, even when Emelia loses baby i felt Javier's reaction cold ,for me they still had to go a long way ,Javier's love confession came very suddenly and end was rushed

Okay read

Emelia wakes up from a coma to discover she’s lost her memory, the tall dark handsome stranger by her bedside is claiming he’s her husband, apparently she and Javier have been married for 2 years. But it transpires that not everything is okay in their marriage. Emelia gradually regains her memory only to discover that Javier is an asshole.

In fact Javier remained an asshole right up to the last couple of pages. There was so much going on in this story but none of that was utilised it was all a bit meh. There were situations that were happening that were never really resolved for me, one was why he allowed his housekeeper to remain when she was so openly hostile towards Emelia even in front of him, it seems that he’d had a fling with the housekeepers daughter and she was resentful because he hadn’t married her. Yet he allowed her to remain as his housekeeper for some pathetic reason. Then he was always away on business without Emelia and would often be pictured with models and actresses. He was adamant there were to be no children in their marriage, and it’s possible he only married her because of his fathers will. I’m not sure why Emelia had put up with him for 2 weeks let alone 2 years. Wasn’t convinced with his protestations of love at the end.

I love amnesia romances, but it stretched a bit too much for my liking, with a hurried end. Though I am loving how M&B is making it's covers to match with the content inside, especially particular scenes. Also what I liked about this one, was how both Emelia and Javier realised where they went wrong and came together again.

Emelia has been in an accident that killed her good friend, Peter Marshall, and caused her to forget the past two years of her life- including her marriage to Javier. Javier believes that Emelia had run away from him to join with her lover, Peter, and is determined to have his revenge on his faithless wife- once she regains her memory.

This one was rather intense as the reader knows what both characters are thinking/ feeling throughout the book.

I just can’t read any further. This is so bad.

On page 113 she lets him undress her, so she is naked and she undresses him, she peels down his briefs, she takes his private male part in her hand and she strokes it.

Then on page 114 she asks him what makes him so sure that she would consent to sex. Well now, what on earth would make him think that, you stupid woman??!!!

And not only her silly question, she slaps him hard in his face. 😳

I was already disappointed that she wasn’t a virgin, she had another lover before the H. So there goes Cinderella out of the window.

But she is violent for no reason and that is unbearable.

He should have kicked her out.

Amnesia second chance story. It was ok, at least the characters were decent to each other even if they had to overcome the roadblocks to their HEA.

Reread. I actually like this one a lot. It was fun being in h's head figuring out why she did a 180 personality shift.

The H was actually a decent guy that is very afraid of the L word. Yet what he didn't realise is all along he actually has been in love with our h given his behavior and feelings, he just didn't want to label it as he is afraid to jinx this relationship. In the end his not doing it doomed it all the same with that actually being the very reason.

The H has initially vengeful thoughts about how he should go about dealing with the h. Yet we can tell very early on, he already changed his mind and his actions since was to figure out what has gone wrong and to fix it so they can stay together. I like that he cares enough to delve into what the h thinks, and tries hard to make it work as best he can. He is quite a messed up H yet when push comes to shoves and when he figured he already has nothing to loose, he finally got the courage to face his feelings for our h.

Our h is very likeable in that she is very real. I am actually glad we didnt really see her before the accident or I would not have liked her as much. Armed again with bits of memories, she quickly figures out what the situation was and is not afraid to admit to the H this time around her unhappiness as well as her love for him.

Love scenes are very well done here to me. Parts of it was slow yet tantalising, and quite erotic with the slower pace. There is chemistry as well as emotions involved. The H did something the h didnt like because of how it made her feel and what she didnt realise is the poor H was actually so emotionally driven with jealousy that he just was out of his head, while she equates this with emotionless wham bam thank you maam sex. I understand why she was miffes yet also knew that given how the H felt about her and the reason that had happened it will never happen again (as it does seem a bit disturbing if this continues yet isn't what she wants)...

There is quite a bit of angst when they separated and I really like how we see both grew up a bit after this. The writing is very well done and it really is packed with emotions. I also really like how harlequin nowadays give voice to the H's pov too so we as readers can figure out how things has gone so wrong and that no matter what the surface seems, there is a love connection still.

All in all, a very enjoyable read.

Emelia can not remember her husband Javier. She can not remember the last two years. An accident has killed her best friend from childhood, and now she is faced with living with a stranger that she is drawn to, but can't recall.

Javier had married Emelia, and even though they had a convenient marriage, with her fitting in to the section of his life he had made for her, he did not want to lose wis wife.

As time goes by, Emelia tries to come to terms with the woman she seemed to be while married to Javier, and the woman she thought she was two years before. She finally begins to realise that she wanted more from her marriage than Javier seemed able to give. She wanted love and happiness and mostly, a family. Javier had a difficult time loving, especially after the defection of his father when he was a child. Almost losing Emelia shows him he can have it all.

A nice story.

I actually thought this novel was kind of sad and that the hero was pretty mean. I mean come on, your wife wakes up with amnesia, not remembering anything and you treat her like crap? I mean, if I got married, I'd assume it would be for love, so why wouldn't she and to treat her so callously, I wanted to slug the hero!

Hmmmmm

I loved the sex scenes. I lived for them! 🫣😀 I liked the beggining, like there is this big bad Alpha man who wants to 'revenge' on his wife who wanted to leave him....with his lover 🫢

Who was just her BF, but whatever.

When she was in the process of it, there was accident and she lost her memory...

Of him.

They don't have children, She seems shallow, Always in the gym, the perfect wife.

But it was a Big lie! She fell in love, he needed wife, so he was like let's marry, but....no love, no children, trophy wife, the best sex ever. 🥵

And she was like yes! yes! yes! 🫣 Even when she hated gym and wanted children...

So, when she wanted to leave HIM, He was like that he can't live without her! But I was like...ehm, the only thing they had in common was....sex 🤔🤯😎🥵😅🧐

Well, 70% of the book was about them having sex, or imaginating about it....

The things I didn't like:

She got pregnant and imediatelly ran away - because He didn't want kids...like ehm....🥴

When She remembers about it, finds out AGAIN that she's pregnant, She is like Okay, let's be adult and talk about it...🧐

And he is kind in shock, He never wanted kids!

But she is all pesimistic about it blah blah blah

In the end, when she lose the baby, she ran away AGAIN

...And to be sure love of her life doesn't find her, She contancts her father who she hates! Use her maiden name....blah blah blah

His sister hated her And in the end they were like BFF 🤯 when did it happened?

Well, even when he kind of didn't know her, He was still like HE ALWAYS KNEW blah 😀

Epic love! Gggg

I liked it, the details were good, but both of them were ridiculous.

They really just fuuuucked and she called it love. I would rather for her to be REALLY shallow, but changed into decent person rather that she just wanted to please HIM...

So he wouldn't leave her.

Like it would be great if the only thing He loved was their sex life and fall in love AFTER SHE CHANGE. ♥️

It seems like the heroine and hero spent an awful lot of time apart in this book, and a lot of things seemed to occur just because. The Hero set out to get revenge on his wife for cheating. Why did he believe she was cheating? Well, because the press said so! Even though, the heroine was supposed to NOT believe the press about him and the Russian model. Go figure.

As for the hero wanting to get revenge, once he finally has sex with the h, the H shrugs and tosses his revenge fantasy out the window. He just believes her when she said she wasn't having an affair.

The housekeeper and the sister are mean for no good reason and the heroine is wimpy in response -- also for no good reason. Maybe it was me, but the book did not give a clear understanding of what went on with the will of the hero's father, and if it was still a reason they needed to be married. I don't understand for the life of me why the heroine ran from the hero twice, but shrug, okay.

Strangely enough, the biggest unanswered question I have from the read is why Emelia didn't want to ride the horse before the accident. What did the horse ever do to her? Another question I had is why she could stand up to the stable hand but not the housekeeper. Oh, and did they leave their clothes in the dining room when they went upstairs to have sex? Why did they go to Paris? That was random.

I felt that a lot of random things happened in this meandering storyline. The heroine and hero led lives of constant misunderstandings and bad communication.

This story begins with Emelia waking up in the hospital not knowing where she was or what happened to her. She had been in an accident and when they make her aware of the date and that her husband was outside waiting she begins to panic because it appears she's forgotten the past two years of her life. How could she have forgotten the smoking hot and intense man standing by her bed???

Javier was furious with his wife but he couldn't let her know that he has to play it cool and give her time. It wouldn't do for him to be angry with a woman who states she can't remember him or their entire relationship. When Emelia gets to their home she's shocked to discover the woman she has become. Perhaps that's why she's forgotten her life?? She's become a woman she doesn't recognize and the house she lives in is clearly not her home because there are no signs of her in it. What had happened to her??

I ended up giving this one a solid three, it's ok. I felt it could have been better if it had had the time to challenge the issues they had. Emelia was a woman who had made herself into the woman she believed Javier wanted instead of being herself and when she finally couldn't deal anymore she cracked and their marriage became rocky. Having a major blowout with Javier about what she really wanted and having him shut her down was the final straw for her. Throughout this novel, I just couldn't see why she felt she was somehow the victim. You went into this relationship with your eyes wide open and denied who you were and what you really wanted but were angry with your partner for not knowing that the person you presented yourself isn't the real you. How he supposed to know girl?? You don't even know what you want.

Both Javier and Emelia went into the relationship with hidden agendas beyond what was stated and they agreed upon. Javier clearly stated he didn't want children and she figured he would change his mind. Errm not how that works, if it's a maybe then yeah but a solid No?? You just asking for hurt. They kept circling around the same issues with little advancement then by the end it's all solved. I do like that they have a few big discussions about why their relationship wasn't working as they originally wanted. Both of them were honest and worked towards the goal of staying married but for a good chunk of the book, they kept having the same issues and couldn't see each other's side. I loved how much she really embraced herself and refused to continue like she had before. Not with his staff and certainly not with his sister. While her memory loss complicated some things little things were retained like her ability to speak and understand his native language, even if she couldn't remember him or any of the other things about them.

I know it doesn't sound like I enjoyed myself but I actually did. In the parts that the story worked, it worked well and the characters flowed. I personally know no one was going to talk to me like the two women did and keep their lips attached to their faces but that's just me. I did like how it was all resolved and did enjoy the romance of it all. I loved how Emelia was trying to find out who she had become and decided what parts of that woman she wanted to keep and what she would leave behind. She certainly gained a backbone due to the accident.

There is a sense of deja vu and unfortunately, I don't even have amnesia to blame for it. I haven't forgotten about reading books with similar plots. The h wakes up with amnesia and realizes she is married to a wealthy H but theirs is not a marriage based on love. Then there is the typical saga of remembering and then the cliched pregnancy. Even more cliched is the H who believes h betrayed him with her old friend who was in the car at the time of her accident.

"The Mélendez Forgotten Marriage" is the story of Emelia and Javier.

This one has it all- a pretend marriage, amnesia, an angry hero, a confused heroine, snarky housekeepers and mean sisters, lots of sex and suspicion, trauma and a happy ending.

I found grovel to be minimal and disappointing.

Meh

Pretty good. This is a good book for passing time. I didn't get completely immersed in it but it was a good read and I enjoyed reading it. It has emotions, steaminess, strength, some thought-provoking self-awareness and a good HEA. Good anytime read.

This was okay....Woman has amnesia after a horrible accident, wakes up to find out she is married to a stranger....He takes her home but does not say much. Apparently, she was leaving him when the accident happened and now her husband secretly wants revenge.

But things are not as they seem...Emelia slowly gets her memory back in bits and pieces and realizes that not only is she in love with him but crazy in love and has been trying to do everything to make him happy. They made arrangements to marry to help him get his inheritance and for her to be that trophy wife he needed for business...but prior to the accident she wanted more...unable to hold back her feelings anymore....but her husband, Javier, does not see eye to eye...so she left.

Well since recuperating, she has been finding it harder and harder to keep her hands off him...seems her body recognizes him even if her mind doesn't and it is not long before they have reestablished their physical relationship with a gusto. When she realizes all the missing memories and that she wants more than the sex, money and gifts....that she wants a real husband who loves and cherishes her and with whom she can build a life with and have a family...he says no...he is incapable of that.

The story twists and turns even more before we get a HEA....It seems when you are afraid to love someone because of past experiences that have injured your soul....you create a disaster of your life in the present chances for a good relationship. Old baggage can destroy your life. Not a bad read...the end was a little clean and came to a neat resolution.....I would have appreciated a little more difficulty to arrive at the HEA....But all in all: A nice, fun, easy read.

Kkkkkkkk......

Bom!!!

This was ALMOST good, but the conclusion just did not work for me. The level of mistreatment the man inflicted on the woman was not sufficiently balanced by the far too little/too late apology at the end.
