Like the previous book in this series, “Rendezvous” had quite a bit of faith content. As for the teen drama parts, it felt like there were less in those regards. Still cleaner than other YA books by this author, I personally have days when I want to read a “fluffier” story and this one fit the bill. (I mean that in a good way. ;)) Those highly interested in fashion and designers would probably enjoy this series the most, however. :)

Okay so this drama gets very annoying sometimes. Like when Erin is thinking about Gabin, Blake, and Lionel. I know that happens in real life but it sometimes gets crazy. I personally do not like Blake because he dumped her. I like Lionel the most. But if she visits Paris again, I will cheer for Gabin.
Paige? I love her. She is just amazing. Sure, she can be a brat at times but she is just awesome!

Really good!

Theme: Look before you leap.

Theme: Things are not always as they appear.

Theme: Act kindly without seeking ultimate reasons. Practice random acts of kindness.

Erin and Paige are going international with their show. On the Runway is filming in Paris, which for most girls is a dream come true but especially for a fashionista like Paige. She is in her element among all the designer clothes and shoes they see everywhere around them. Erin is more excited for the history and landscape but they each have something to love. On the bright side they can leave their relationship confusion behind in the States and not think of it until they return. That is of course, wishful thinking. They are in Paris, the city of love. Romance finds them even though they don't lift a finger. While there they run into old friends and make some new, all while doing their jobs. After all, when in Paris, what's a girl going to do but say "c'est la vie?"
I read the first 2 books in this series a few years ago, and while I could still get by, it might have been preferable to have read them closer together because I couldn't remember some of the little details. All in all, this series has the flow I expect from this author

This book is kind of like Shallow Hal.....not much to it. Lots of shallow characters, and the few who were Christians were so quiet about it that it never was developed much. That's a shame.

I think a teenaged girl might like this book. But it didn't appeal to me and I'm going to pass along the sequel without reading it. Just don't want to waste time on it.

That being said, I've read Melody Carlson before and liked her, so don't let this review color your thinking too much. Try for yourself. That's always best.

I skipped book #2 because our library didn't have #2. Reading the second book would have filled in some gaps, but it didn't hinder me from enjoying the book.

Reality tv is extremely popular with shows like The Bad Girls Club, America's Next Top Model, and Real World filling the air waves. Everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame. Fictional shows that take an inside look at private schools and spoiled rich kids like Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars are also popular.

Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars were books before they were television series. Candace Bushnell has written a book called The Carrie Diaries that is about Carrie Bradshaw (Sex and the City) and her high school years. The Clique and Confessions of Georgia Nicholson are two other series of books that have teens participating in very adult activities with no consequences.

But do these programs and books offer any positive role models or messages to the tweens and teens of today? Have no fear, there are positive fictional teen characters being written today. Say hello to Paige and Erin Forrester, the protagonists of the On the Runway series by Melody Carlson

I enjoyed this third book in the series, but it seemed like more of a continuation of the series than a title that could stand on it's own. There were several good things to like about this novel, such as how it built on the two prior books, which I'd recently finished. What I didn't care for was the fact that this book had no real conclusion to it. Nothing seemed to wrap up. I prefer a book with a few loose ends tied together, and this one didn't have that. On the plus side, another great character, Gabin, was introduced in this book. Then...nothing.

Unlike the other books in the series, this one seemed lacking in the romance department, too. I find it hard to believe that all of those young adults would be sleeping in such close proximity to each other and absolutely nothing happened. Not even kissing. Seriously?

Anyway, I did worry about Blake for awhile, so that was good. The author also did a great job with the setting and I felt like I was hanging out in Paris with these ladies, and then later at the castle. Other than that there isn't much to say. I am not sure if I'll read the next book because while I liked these characters and this story, I am not sure I want to be pulled through very many more books to get to the end. I don't think I'll last for the long haul. Just sayin'. At any rate, I did enjoy this book and read it in a day. I'm just debating on whether or not I want to continue on because sometimes like with soap operas, these books can just go on and on.

It's On the Runway time again, and the Forrester sisters are ready to jet-set off to Paris, France . To the home of designers like Hermes and Chanel. The girls to get into the Paris scene have decided to spice things up a little with a makeover , Paige who has been likened to Grace Kelly and Erin to Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina have undergone haircuts and makeovers to match the stars at Salon Dominique. First stop on their fashion tour is the Hermes factory - home of the Birkin Bag ,every girls dream . It seems though that love is in the air for Erin as Gabin - their Hermes host has a thing for her and will jealousy spike between the sisters when he gives Erin her own Birkin Bag, one that normally has a waiting list -so many lengths long. During a fashion show we see the girls reunited with Fashion designer Dylan Marceau and his models Taylor and Eliza ( characters from The Carter House Girls series). Soon envy sparks between Eliza and Paige as they each try to be one step ahead of each other. However what plan does Eliza have up her sleeve , when she invites Paige and Erin to her French Summer House. What a surprise it will be when unexpected guests Benjamin and Blake turn up and what will be their reactions when they see Dylan and Gabin on the arms of the girls.
Readers, should definitely expect a catfight or two and a slinging word match within Rendezvous and is it the end of Erin and Paige's togetherness on the show , when Producer Helen thinks that Erin should be made Paige's partner not just assistant.

The book, Rendezvous is about these two girls named Paige and Erin Forrester who wanted to move their show about fashion towards Paris. When I started to think about what the characters were doing, it sounded real cool and awesome. The filming for the show took place at an estate by Eliza Wilton. As Paige was in Paris, the crew also went shopping to enjoy their time. There were sparkles of love in this book, which I thought maybe suitable for readers who like to read about fashion, travel, and romance. This book felt like an adventure that Paige and Erin Forrester take to move the fashion television show to Paris. I think it is every girl’s dream for them to go to Paris, so they decided to move it to there. The second to last sentence of this book ties up the idea of them being in Paris, “Although we still have a couple of things left to do in Paris, I think that the most important part of this trip is right here in this room.” (202). I think this is an important quote I’ve pulled out that explains their actions left in Paris and adventure. There were also other characters other then Paige and Erin, like Benjamin, Dylan, Blake and Gabin who were boys in this story. But, the main focal point was on the girls.

Rendezvous by Melody Carlson is the third book in her On The Runway series ad I honestly think I might have enjoyed this book more if I would have read the first two. There were some references to past situations that had me feeling a bit lost, not so much that I couldn't read the book but it would have been nice to have the total back story.
This is a story about two sisters who have a fashion reality show. In this installment the girls get to take a trip to Paris. It was interesting to read about the clothes, shoes etc. I felt like I got a bit of an education about fashion.
With the two sisters being totally opposites, one being a fashion diva and the other being down to earth and sort of feeling like the third wheel on the show, the sibling rivalry along with the arguments and making up really makes it really easy to relate to these two girls, especially if you have sisters!
The only downside to this book was the ending, I was left feeling that there should have been more.
I think this series would be appealing to teen girls christian or not, but I would caution that teen alcohol abuse is mentioned often.

So I have been reading this series and I actually won this book in a giveaway, so I thought I would go ahead and review it. (all my opinions are my own and I'm not getting compensation for them.)
This is the 3rd book in the series about two sisters (Erin and Paige) who have their own reality fashion tv show. Erin felt really wishy washy in this book. She is struggling with feelings for 3 different guys! (Well 2 and a half) Plus she can never make up her mind if she likes her sister, Paige, or not. It was kind of frustrating because she would switch back and forth after just a few paragraphs. One minute she was complaining that Paige was being a brat and the next she felt sorry for her. I just want her to pick one feeling and stick with it!
That was really the only thing that annoyed me. The rest of the writing and the storyline is good. I really like how she (Melody Carlson) managed to have Taylor and Eliza (from the Mixed Bags series) in the story without it feeling forced. I also liked how we learned a little bit more of the secondary characters stories (Fran and JJ). All in all it was a pretty good book and I will definitely finish the series.

I won this from "First Reads" courtesy of Zondervan!

Rendezvous by Melody Carlson is the third book in her On The Runway series. I honestly think I might have enjoyed this book more if I would have read the first two. That said I can honestly say I now want and plan to read the rest of the series.

This is a story about two sisters who have a fashion reality show. In this installment the girls get to take a trip to Paris. This is a Christian book, so there are some references to God and praying, which is fine with me and I really liked that there was no cursing and sex scenes. This was really complete fluff… light and easy reading with touches of serious matters within the fashion industry.

With the two sisters being total opposites- one being a fashion diva and the other being down to earth and sort of feeling like the third wheel on the show, the sibling rivalry along with the arguments and making up really makes it easy to relate to these two girls.

I did not particularly like the ending. I was left feeling that there should have been more effort to form some conclusion to this installment of the series.

I received this book for free through a Goodreads contest that the author Melody Carlson was nice enough to put this book up for. I love reading all kinds of books, and this one is no exception. It is an excellent Teen/Young Adult/Christian or anyone who wants a very good book that is a clean read. I like the underlying messages about living by the word of the lord, obeying the law and caring about other feelings. All this while they are trying to sort out their own lives and feelings. This book is well written and a little addictive. I try to put it down just to come back to it 10 minutes later.

I finished this book and felt that it was a well written Christian Teen book. I actually found myself able to connect to the characters though I think one or two of them may need counselling. But all in all it is a very good book for the right audience.

This was a cute book. I hadn't read the first two in the series, but there didn't seem to be a whole lot of issue with that. This is a Christian book, so there are lots of references to God/praying/religion/etc. which is fine and I really liked that there was no cursing, sex, etc. This was really complete fluff, with some very light touches on serious matters within the fashion industry. I expected a murder mystery type story line, and was pleasantly surprised when it really is simply a story. A nice little quick read, I'm sure I'll read the next one as well!

*I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads.*

I really liked this book. I feel like I can relate to Erin, I would rather be behind a camera than in front of one. I'm not very interested in fashion, but this book has made want to learn more.

I love how Melody Carlson adds God into her stories. She is an amazing author and I think this book shows that.

I just want to say that I really like Dylan and Gabin, and I hope they show up in the next books :)

The continuing adventures of two sisters in the exciting worlds of TV and fashion. Paige and Erin Forrester travel to Paris for spring fashion shows and to explore classic fashions houses. There they face envy and jealousy--professional, relational, and between each other. It's amazing the breaks these two uneducated, untrained young adults get in two highly competitive worlds. The ending to RENDEZVOUS was quite anti-climatic...and makes me wonder if it picks up in book #4 SPOTLIGHT.

Paige and Erin want to do a day in the life of a model. They decide to spend a weekend at Taylor Mitchell and Eliza Wilton's apartment, but Eliza is jealous, wants to be in the center of attention, etc. So, Paige and Erin decide to deal with it. Then, the next day, Erin finds Eliza in the bathroom crying because she is not who everyone wants her to be and she is VERY jealous of Taylor.

Rendezvous is about Jealousy, Friendship, and overcoming problems.

This is a cute and fluffy series that's pretty fun to read. I really enjoyed seeing Taylor and Eliza from the Carter House Girls series make an appearance, since I'm in the middle of reading those books as well.

Paige is so annoying though, and Erin caters to her every whim way too much. I also wish these books were longer! Still though, I like them.

My first book from Goodreads First reads! This is a book I would give to a teenage girl who is into fashion. It's easy reading, nothing spectacular, yet fun to read. It has references to today's stars and topics with a hint of Christian good intentions.

A book on the world of fashion, spiced with romance, jealousy and surprises, and with some Christian moral to it. Sounds great, right? Yet, the plot was developing so slow and the characters seemed rather shallow. The book was just OK.

Awesome it really was to read the pacific details of Paris in here, love the outfits they we're describing on here another On The Runway I love deeply. Hated Eliza though she is too cocky and egotistic for her own good. Love it and read it within a day yet again on a book of this series :D
