Well, not really, but this should tell you all you need to know about me and my writing style.
I'm a huge Marvel (plus Game of Thrones, Star Trek AND Star Wars) fan, which shows since my novel is loaded with pop culture references. If you are a sci-fi fan (I assume that you are, otherwise what are you doing here?) you will enjoy them tremendously. I even went full Deadpool in my first draft and broke the fourth wall multiple times, until my editor told it was distracting and kept taking her out of the moment. Shame. Those fourth-wall breaks were hilarious. Still, I can guarantee a few laugh-out-loud moments. Case in point: The "good" aliens in my novel are a race of pranksters, whose main goal in life is pulling other people's legs (They have four legs, hence the slight change in the idiom). My favorite author is Jim Butcher (The Dresden Files), which is probably how I ended up writing in a first-person POV with the same light-hearted, funny tone as he does. The fact that my MC's name is Jim is purely coincidental though.
I am a university/college level English teacher, and including Canada, I have lived and worked in five different countries. I have met people from all around the world. Plus, my parents are from a different background, and so is my wife. As a result, diversity has become a major theme in my novel. My characters look like the bridge crew from Star Trek. One of my female characters even impersonated Uhura once, albeit posthumously.

Wow! Robins has command of the helm once again in the form of Jim and his Golden Viper, wise cracking Akakies, and of course, wise cracking Venom in his head. All his old friends are here including the engaging alien Tarq; the Crimson Deathbringer is back, and a stunning romantic surprise from an alternate universe. The ending was pure Star Trek. I loved the pop culture and movie references. I loved the cracks in the tough protagonists' emotional facades and their obvious courage in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. The adventure continues with a cliff hanger at the end. Be prepared for a roller coaster of emotions and nonstop action in this thrilling space opera.

Excellent series
Such a great series and it just keeps getting better. It is a series that you should read the previous books to understand and fully enjoy each character. I loved seeing the new characters and storyline to them but hated seeing the ones lost in the fight. The ending is a cliffhanger.

This book continues the series. It involves a group of people who seem to be required to save the universe over and over with each time being a bigger and harder opponent. Their trials and sacrifices are well done and they just keep on going.

Depth of twists
This book was not as good as the previous books it takes quite a way through the story line to make sense as the start of the story was very confusing with different people appearing with at first glance no logical explanation it takes a long while? To make sense before the story unfolds.

A surprise attack on the Federation nearly annihilates their fleet. Jim and his friends flee with Tarq to a hidden base to plot out their course. They are under a tight deadline, up against serious technology, and have lost most of their fighters. Kurt and Xornaa have been caught on Earth, but they are Resistance fighters. That is what they do. Jim. General Maada, Maada’s wife plot with Tarq to retake their world. Get ready for a slam bang finish. Will they all survive? What if there is someone else out there directing all this? Read on for a space opera challenge.

When the Akakies from an alternate universe turn up and decimates the federation forces, Jim and the team need to regroup in order to retake the universe. Good story that moves at a nice pace, the chemistry between the main characters is spot on.

I am just gobsmacked! Sean Robins, your writing just gets better and better. I love when an author is willing to kill off a lead character to help bring his/her storyline to a close. Sorry, not telling who or how. Great fight scenes. And I love the interplay with the characters always reminding each other of who did what and to whom. Sometimes they are worse than children! But you know that, deep down, they do love and respect one another. Can't wait to begin the 7th book in this series.
