Kathryn Springer grew up in a small town in Wisconsin, where her parents published a weekly newspaper. As a child, she spent many hours sitting at her mother’s typewriter, plunking out stories, and credits her parents for instilling in her a love of books – which eventually turned into a desire to tell stories of her own.
After a number of busy years, when she married her college sweetheart and became a stay-at-home mom, Kathryn rediscovered her love for writing. An unexpected snow day from school became the inspiration for a short story, which she submitted to Brio magazine. She went on to publish over a dozen more short stories for Brio, but it wasn’t until her youngest child started school that she decided to pursue her dream to write a book. In August 2004, her Love Inspired® debut novel, Tested by Fire, was published.
Fast forward to today and Kathryn has written over thirty novels. She lives on a lake in northern Wisconsin where she enjoys long walks in the woods and the change of seasons (although sometimes she wishes the "change" between winter and spring didn't last quite so long!) When she isn’t at the computer, you’ll find her spending time with family and friends, paging through cooking magazines or sitting in the sun. A really, really good day includes all three! Andrew Noble suspends his playboy lifestyle to take over the Noble Foundation when his cousin's pregnancy becomes risky. Waitress and single Mom, Miranda Jones wants nothing to do with a rich jet-setter. She has reasons for keeping a low profile. Andrew has secrets of his own; his lifestyle hides a true vocation for rescuing missing children. As these two learn to know and love each other they must work to build trust and faith. This was a nice inspirational love story, however, it is number 7 in a series about the Tiny Blessings Adoption Agency and every character from the first 6 had to appear and have a role as well as some that look like potentials for future volumes. Just too many characters with back story to incorporate.
I thought it was cool that the 'Tiny Blessings' series continued with this book, albeit a few years later. I enjoyed hearing about what happened with previous characters in the series, and really enjoyed getting to know Miranda, Daniel, and Andrew better. For me, this book was a 'hold on to your seat' kind of book: it grabbed my attention from the start, and didn't really let go. It wasn't suspenseful, per se, but it definitely moved quickly. The only 'complaint' I have is that there were a few storylines presented in the book that weren't resolved. I'm hoping those were only presented as a 'favour' to the next author(s) who will expound on those stories for us in the next book(s). 3.5 stars
I can't tell you enough how much I love Kathryn Springer books. The emotions she brings out in me, I feel like I'm right in the same room as the characters. Experiencing the fear, the doubts and the heart palpitations as well. Thank you for another great story of twists (I don't want to give anything away). And for making the character of Daniel very age appropriate. Sometimes you read about children and their dialogue or characterization don't seem to match. I thought Daniel was spot-on. Keep writing, I'll keep reading.
I have liked most of the books by Kathryn Springer I have read, and I enjoyed this one about a man who doesn't care for children, but he likes the boy's mother. As the plot progresses, Andrew has several encounters with Rachel and her son, and he learns some truths about himself and others. I enjoyed this novel too.
This was a very good book. I just got lost at times with the characters - it was hard to keep up. But when I reached the end and read the author's note, I realized this was not the first book in the series. That would explain my confusion. Now I just need to figure out what book I missed!
ive read the book, but i want to review it to write a report over it. this was a good book but i have to have a detailed report. and i want to hit all of the main points. i have read a lot of these books and i dont wanna get any of them mixed up.
An interesting book on loving children, and the cause of saving them from harm. Story on letting God heal the passed and sometimes what we see on people outwardly might not be the real truth once we get to know them. An awesome read!
A Tiny Blessings Tale - Miranda and her son Daniel have hidden in Chestnut Grove a few years now. When Andrew Noble takes over for his cousin Rachel at the foundation, their worlds collide. Can Miranda keep her son safe? Will Andrew trust enough to explain about the guardian?
