Have just begun it, already know that this is a very unusual, deep book . . . many thanks for making me aware of it, Eva. Stephan Hoeller is wonderful. Listened to a talk he gave on gnosis this pm. Looking forward to the CD meditations.

Very interesting, but more or less falls between the two stools of Kabbalah and Tarot. Some useful information, but the basic, and historically unfounded, assumption of a link between Kabbalah and the origin of the Tarot makes the book idiosyncratic. Containing some lovely imagery and meditations, this ultimately seems more like a textbook, to be used under the guidance of a teacher, than a manual for self-tuition.

Now far away the road has gone,

Pursuing it with weary feet
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet,
And whither then, I cannot say.
I subscribe to this idea of "lenses", The filters we look through while living that guide our conscious and unconscious actions. Tarot, and the Fool's Pilgrimage as Hoeller illustrates here is a lens to look at the underlying map of the human psyche. Painted in the contemporary via Jung, and tempered in ancient Kabbalistic mysticism. It is a melting pot of truth that reduces into a soft knowing. An unconditional love that adores you in your ignorance, but glorifies that you've awakened.
