Book 5 in the Rutledge Werewolf series.

Christiana Rutledge has finally graduated from college and is ready to head back home and help her father run Rutledge Securities and lead the Pack. But first, she has to attend the Graduation Ball.

After working for hours on just the right costume, she can turn herself into the alluring, seductive woman she knows is inside herself. For one night, she will cast off all her inhibitions and let loose. Then she can move on to her responsibilities to the Pack and her family. And perhaps meet her True One, her mate for eternity.

Edward Matthews couldn't believe the lengths he was going to for a night with Christiana. Growing up together, she had offered her childish heart to him. Youth he had been, he had rejected her and regretted it for years. Crashing her masked ball and seducing Christiana might be one way to get his no-strings-attached affair with Christiana. Or at least work her out of his system! Maybe after a few days of hot, sweaty sex they could both get on with their lives.

What neither realizes is that they are actually chasing each other. And Chasing Love.

Not my favourite in this series.
We are now onto the children from the series.
We get plenty of sex but it is lacking romance.
Christiana and Edward finally get their HEA but I just didn’t feel a connection between them.
Thought Edward was actually a bit of a manwhore jerk. The fact he only wanted to be with Christi, NOT because she was his mate but because he wanted to scratch an itch and get her out of his system was not nice.
Yes he realises she is his true mate but too little too late.
Christi has remained a virgin as she wants to wait for her true mate. She doesn’t call Edward on all his past sexual conquests, just basically goes along with the silliness, then decides to chase kidnap him again and seduce him.
Loved the sad but sweet ending with Grampa Zachariah.
Great to see this series in KU. Rereading through KU as there is a sixth book.
Have owned this book for years but original review is missing.

I liked this. Christiana and Edward grew up together and have been friends the whole time, and her grandfather has insisted the entire time they were True Mates. But when Christiana at 14 tried to arrange her future with Edward (17), he turned her down. Now ten years later, he's got a plan to get the taste of her she's been denying him ever since.

For holding a grudge for that long, I'm not sure she made him pay enough. I also don't think she ever particularly admitted she'd handled it badly at 14, and they both screwed up.

This was my favorite of the series. Life long best friends falling in love. The ending with Gramps was sad and sweet.
