من أهم الكتب التى صدرت مؤخرا عن الإسكندرية يقدم و صفا كاملا لها من خلال الوثلئق من حيث عمارتها و أثارها و تاريخها و سكانها بأجناسهم و طبائعهم و ذلك منذ إنشائها على يد الأسكندر المقدونى فى عام 331 ق م و حتى الفتح العربى عام 641 م
كما يعرض لسياسة الملوك البطالمة الأوائل و جهودهم المتواصلة فى تطوير إقتصاد مصر و رفع معدله حتى إستطاعوا أن يجعلوا من مصر أكبر قوة إقتصادية و عسكرية فى العالم القديم أنذاك
ثم يتحدث عما حققته الإسكندرية من إزدهار و رخاء إلى الحديث عن التقدم العلمى المذهل بفضل علمائها و جامعتها و مكتبة الإسكندرية الشهيرة

The book's name is الإسكندرية أعظم عواصم العالم القديم It's a good read through Alexandrian history since Alexander the great way until the end end of the Roman rule.
I enjoyed the first chapter the most. Interesting details about how the city looked like, the ruling family, what names the Egyptians gave them :) & so on.
The second chapters were confusing at times (for a total ignorant about the Roman empire & Caesars as myself :) ) The final chapter gave a detailed narration about Christianity and how it came to differ than the the western church.
In all, it's a very rich book about Alexandria, but you need to be really into history to enjoy it.
