Writing romantic suspense is no mystery for Harlequin Intrigue author, Joyce Sullivan. She graduated from California State University, Long Beach, with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and worked as a private investigator in British Columbia before trying her hand at freelance journalism and writing romance.

She made her first sale to the Harlequin Intrigue line in 1995. The Harlequin Intrigue line features taut edge-of-the-seat contemporary romantic suspense tales of danger and desire. Whether a murder mystery, psychological suspense thriller or woman in jeopardy, lives are always on the line . . . and so are hearts!

Joyce loves observing people and finding overlooked details about everyday life that make unique clues in her books. Her previous six books with the Intrigue line have all been set in Canada. Her first series with Intrigue, the Collingwood Heirs, debuts in August 2003, and is set in the Thousand Islands region of the St. Lawrence Seaway.

A native Californian, Joyce emigrated to Canada for love. She and her husband have two children and make their home in Western Quebec.

A brilliant sequel In the Collingwood heir series.
In this the second and concluding volume we see the story start with a ransom demand for Arians which was also the conclusion to the preceding. Over.
Stef Shelton has lost her husband in an accident but still has her beloved daughter Keeley.
Then one day the appearance of a stranger shatters Stef's cosy world forever with the news that Keeley might not even be her daughter...
An exciting and fast paced love story that is a cut above in terms of an involved storyline which makes the novel a suspenseful page turner.
A worthy sequel and a must read for fans of romantic fiction who likes their love stories served up with a helping of thrills.

While not as good as the first book in the series this one is still worth reading. The kidnapped Collingwood heir has been swapped with another baby and the mother of that baby is not about to give up on her daughter or the child she has raised as her own. The private investigator sent to retrieve the girl falls in love with the mother, the rest is a little predictable but still worth a read.

Operation Bassinet review by Brenda

Parts of the book were boring. It seemed to have sections that weren’t really needed. Overall the book was enjoyable.

Mitch and Stef were good together. I liked that she didn't automatically diss Brad, her late husband. And that he wasn't a complete villain. What brought my rating down was Hunter and Jillian. The fact that they were lying to Stef through the whole book. And the "come be a vassal in my island empire" ending was annoying.

Again, in spite of the uninspired title and unoriginal formula, the details and writing make it worth the read.
