Litha Garmes lives in a world of darkness since the death of her twin. Litha also lives, breathes, and sleeps black metal music. It is her life. She believes it will be her death. Until she meets a man who knows the secrets of the heavenly stars, and they fall in love. Litha climbs out of her dark universe with his loving support, the living echo of her twin, and her own indomitable strength.
Only to find her newly won freedom comes with an unimaginable sacrifice.
LITHA is a dark love story set outside traditional boundaries. The Bell Jar meets Wednesday Addams all grown up, LITHA combines shades of black humor and passionate love set against the stately blue mountains and open desert landscape of New Mexico.
"Life is a war between loss and survival. Hear, then, the start of my music..."
The composition of the book itself is good. No complaints about the printing of the book.
The story is very good, and I do appreciate the foray into a lesser known (at least to me) subject area, with the story taking place in a Norwegian Black/Death Metal scene in New Mexico.
The love story itself is believable, which is important in a love story, and makes the heart strings tug. The ending was enough pain to make even hardened sailors cry, not to speak of the book in its entirety. My partner also thoroughly enjoyed it. I can say that most people will be able to relate to this book in some form or fashion.
