When Meeral left her small village to go to Pactyl, she wanted to escape her mother's scandalous past and find work. She tried to be anonymous and fit in, but that only worked until war came. Meeral found herself at odds with the defenders of Pactyl because her magical skill of enhancing was more powerful than their army. The Enhancer has a lot of wonderful moments in it, and those who enjoy world-building are definitely in for a treat. It has an interesting back story that the lead character, Meeral, discovers along with the reader. Although some of the reviews have mentioned editing problems, the only real flaw I saw in regards to proofreading was probably a conversion issue. From time to time one of the characters turned into a symbol. It didn't happen too frequently, and it didn't disrupt my reading enjoyment.
