I picked up Diagram whilst tracking down the older works of an elusive poet I've grown fond of. I found their work, and other prose poetry, that caught my eye so decided to buy the bound editions of what is nominally an online magazine.
Diagram is an odd beast, part poetry publication, part selection of scientific etchings (mostly older) from a variety of disciplines.
I came for the poetry and stayed for the diagrams. I am a sucker for a good schematic or labelled cell structure.

Anyway, volume 1 - what a collection! There was very little in here I disliked. Standouts for me included:
Henry Kannenberg's Little Slice of America by Andrew Bomack
Footnotes on being raw by Marni Borek
Forgiveness by Joel Brouwer
If a lettuce by Benjamin Gantcher
Minotaur: Anatomy by Paul Hamill
San Francisco Zoo by Ron Mohring
Manual by Drew Perry
Kitchen table by Drew Perry
Ice trucking by David Seiter
All three of Michael Sowder's poems about crows (i have since learnt he has a chapbook: A Calendar of Crows, on the subject, which I have ordered).

I'm really glad I picked up all of the anthologies in the series. Lots of jumping off points here and treasures to revisit. Plus.. check out these diagrams:
